Hi t8 and Anthony,
According to scripture this is WHEN Jesus became Christ the master.
Luke 3:21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him…Luke 4:1 And Jesus being FULL of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness…14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about…18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
Acts 10:37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, AFTER the baptism which John preached; 38 How God anointed (chrio) Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
AFTER Jesus was baptized WHEN the Spirit descended upon him, he was filled without measure of the Spirit, this was an ANOINTING of the Spirit. The one now with the full measure of the Spirit is sent out into the world able to speak the words of God BECAUSE he received the Spirit without measure.
Acts 4:26 The kings of the earth set themselves in array, And the rulers were gathered together, Against the Lord, and against his Anointed: 27 for of a truth in this city against thy holy Servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together, 28 to do whatsoever thy hand and thy council FOREORDAINED to come to pass.
That which was foreordained was written many years prior by the prophet Isaiah, but had been God’s word that would be fulfilled before any human ever took a breath.
Isaiah 42:1 Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delighteth: I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. …6 I, Jehovah, have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thy hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7 to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house. 8 I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images.
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound; 2 to proclaim the year of Jehovah’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
CLEAR SCRIPTURE as TO WHEN Jesus was ANOINTED, as to WHEN he BECAME FULL of the Spirit, as to WHEN he was SENT out into the world to speak God’s word.
We also have clear scripture as to WHEN Jesus BECAME our savior.
Hebrews 5:9 and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
If the infant didn’t bring us salvation AS AN INFANT, and it is our savior WHO IS SAID TO BE Christ the lord, THEN as the infant was NOT YET our savior because he had to be perfected first, THEN the infant was not Christ the lord yet either, as he clearly had not been ANOINTED yet as we are given DIRECTLY WHEN it was he was anointed.
The infant Jesus would grow up and BECOME our savior
The savior is who is Christ the master
The infant Jesus would grow up and BECOME anointed, through that anointing as we are told, God calls him into righteousness and will hold his hand and keep him for a covenant. That covenant is him having been anointed and called into righteousness so he could learn obedience, and be the perfected sacrificial lamb.
I am just going by exactly what the scriptureS reveal to us. Once again, the angel prior to verse 11 in verse 10 is speaking of the infant according to PROPHECY, according to the promise given to Abraham, which is the covenant spoken by Isaiah. You guys ignore that. Once again, the angel in the book of Matthew also speaks of the infant as the one who is fulfilling prophecy. You ignore this. The prophecies speak of our savior, you treat the angels words even though he is clearly shown to be speaking of the infant according to prophecy, as if the angel all of a sudden is not speaking according to prophecy, which is extremely odd given the fact that the infant fulfills the prophecy of BECOMING our savior. It’s just complete absurdness.
t8, your explanation as to why John needing to baptized Jesus is all your own reasoning which is directly against scripture as to WHY Jesus was baptized, it was so that he could me anointed with the Spirit and then be sent out to become our high priest, only needing to commit one sacrifice instead of many, for our sins.
XXXXXXXX From the time of Aaron God established a lasting ordinance for the priests, they had to be washed clean with water and then be anointed with oil. XXXXXXXX
Jesus likewise at the river Jordan had to be washed clean and then he was anointed with the full measure of the Spirit and sent out to preach the word of God, and to become our high priest.

Tradition will be proud of you. You hold the line.
Close your ears and hear nothing and you will never change.
Infallibility is a twin brother of unteachability.
January 13, 2019 at 6:50 am#842607JodiParticipantYes t8, great advice, close your ears, don’t test your own faith with the scriptureS. So much easier not to test your faith by not giving an appropriate response addressing the many scriptures people give, much better to just IGNORE many scriptures and hide.
January 13, 2019 at 7:20 am#842608GeneBalthropParticipantAnthony and T8….To say Jesus was born as a massiah, is the same as saying he was a preexisting God or some other kind of deity, angel or whatever, none of you pepole can explain what he was before his berth on this earth can you? Show us somekind of ACTIVITY he had before his berth.
But the big question is why do you preexisteners try so hard to make Jesus into something different then a human being, Jesus sure didn’t think he was different.
According to Jesus, nearely everything he said related with him being a human, “SON OF MAN”, What do you people do with all those statements of his, do you just simply reject it or act like his words don’t mean what he says or are not even in scriptures?
I am seening more and more why God permitted scripture to be written they way it is, it’s to illistrate to those who have the truth in them, how without the spirit of truth, given them by God the Father, they would be Just like the rest of fallen Christanity.
Anthony if you and T8, go the way fallen christanity goes as you are, you will windup in the same ditch. Your taking the wide path that leads to destruction.
Peace and love to you and yours. ……..gene
January 13, 2019 at 8:01 am#842609JodiParticipantHi Anthony,
YOU: Hi Jodi
You said: How are you saved?
You don’t know? Well how I was saved. The Father convicted me of my sins drew me to the Only Begotten Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, I repented of my sins ask the Lord in to my Heart.
Now tell me how you got saved?
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord
ME: YOU FORGOT what had to happen BEFORE you could confess your sins and your faith Anthony.
Hebrews 5:7 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. 8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered 9 and, once made perfect, he BECAME the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
You as well as ALL of mankind, have eternal salvation in the child born of Mary once he grew up and was MADE perfect.
The infant was not perfect, he had to learn obedience, and his act of obedience taking on suffering going to the cross and dying makes him your source of eternal salvation.
The infant at his birth was called a savior because he was the one whom God was going to perfect making him into the sacrificial lamb to cleanse you from your sins.
The infant was called a savior at his birth BECAUSE he was the one to fulfill Isaiah 53,
1 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. 4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. 11 After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied ; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
The infant Jesus would grow up to be a man of suffering, he would be made perfect through that suffering and we would be saved because of his obedience and his sacrifice of his life dying on the cross, BECAUSE of this he is raised from the dead and given a portion among the great, he will divide the spoils with the strong.
God KNEW of this glory of this MAN who would receive a portion among the great, God KNEW because it was in His word, it was His promise and plan before He made the world. God was able to develop such a plan and carry out the plan because His Spirit exists with many powers, He did this through His great power of Wisdom, God is wise and all things were created through His Spirit of Wisdom, where all history unfolds according to God’s will and plan established by His wisdom, where one man lacked faith and brought sin and death, and another man would be full of grace and truth and bring righteousness and eternal life. Jesus having been raised from the dead in power and glory, the portion that he receives AMONG the great is to be the firstborn of many brethren and be their King of kings and Lord of lords.

Peace and love to you and yours. …..gene
January 13, 2019 at 9:17 am#842611ProclaimerParticipantYou guys hate the idea that Jesus could have existed as the Word that was with God, that you even go as far as to deny that Jesus was the Christ when he was born. You have free will of course to believe anything you want about Jesus, but because you have free will, it means you are also responsible for your own actions and teachings.
For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
January 13, 2019 at 9:25 am#842612ProclaimerParticipantYou guys add words to the text. Here is how you need to reword it in order to get your meaning.
For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a baby who will become a Savior, who will become Christ the Lord.
But even this false meaning contradicts your own held views.
Nick says Jesus was like him, but had a better CV, but his rendering of the text kind flies in the face of that by stating even without the CV, he will become Christ.
Gene’s teachings are a bit more harmonious in that he believes there is no free will, thus Jesus was not the Christ, but was programmed to live the best life, gain the best CV, and become the messiah. Of course Gene shouldn’t get upset at me saying this because I must be programmed to say this because there is no free will.

Me: Col.1 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him and through Him to reconcile all things to Him self, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.
Me: He created all things before His birth.

January 13, 2019 at 1:38 pm#842621JodiParticipantHi Anthony,
YOU: This may help
For a child has been born to us, A son has been given to us; And the rulership will rest on his shoulder. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace,” (Isaiah 9:6.)
The words of Isaiah 9:6 are one of the most powerful prophecies testifying plainly and clearly that the promised Messiah to come would, in fact, be God Himself born in human flesh. The child that is born, the son that is given, is to be called “Mighty God.”
ME:
Isaiah 9: 6 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!
The child that is born is the son of David, of whom God had promised He would be a Father to. The child that is given to the people is the son of Abraham who was promised to be the Messiah. This son of Abraham and David will receive eternal life and thus have the throne of David for all eternity.
This is OBVIOUS in this passage as Isaiah says not only is a son given to us, meaning a human is born of the people of Israel, but we are told directly the son is to receive “the throne of HIS ANCESTOR DAVID”.
If a human of the seed of David is called Mighty EL, that doesn’t equate to this human pre-existing as a god. It means the actual human Jesus on earth when he was sent out and began to preach God’s gospel beginning in Galilee and was a witness to the people, HE is godlike, he is a mighty one.
God said to Moses that He made Moses into elohiym to Pharoah. God made Moses into a mighty god, and how did God do that? He gave Moses His great powers. This is also EXACTLY why Isaiah who is speaking of the child of the seed of David says that this child will be called a mighty god. People would CALL Jesus a mighty god, because he had BEEN ANOINTED, not because he already existed as a god. The people after Jesus had been baptized and the Spirit rested on him giving him powers, they witnessed Jesus being in the form of God, being godlike, being a mighty one because the One True God YHWH was in him, Jesus was full of POWER and the people witnessed that great power.
Jesus tells us that he could do nothing of himself, the great mighty powers he was performing he did because God was in him, he had been born of God’s Spirit at the river and sent out to perform miracles. But you want us to believe that he is a mighty god with his mighty powers because he pre-existed as a god. Could you seriously be more antichrist, I don’t think so!!
Anthony Isaiah 9 DOES NOT say AT ALL that the Messiah was going to be God coming down to earth, you are clearly ignoring Isaiah’s OTHER prophecies and you are also changing who the One True God is. God is ONE person who exists with Powers and He has a name and it is not Jesus of Nazareth, it is the Father of Jesus, it is the Father of all creation, whose name is YHWH. The Son of God was not going to come down to earth and be the son of David. God was going to take David’s son and make HIM (the one of human flesh) into His Son.
WHY is this son of David who Isaiah is speaking of in Isaiah 9, as Isaiah says, “the throne of HIS ANCESTOR DAVID” going to be called a Wonderful Counselor?
Because he pre-existed as a god? NO! Isaiah tells us in chapter 53 and 11,
11 After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied ;by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, BECAUSE he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors.
Jesus will be called according to Isaiah a Wonderful Councilor because by his knowledge he will justify many. This knowledge comes from his anointing and his experiences of when he was a mortal human subjected to temptation.
Hebrews 2: 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin
The child WILL BE called Wonderful Councilor, Mighty God (word is el meaning god, god-like one, mighty one), Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, not because he pre-existed but because he was the seed of Abraham and David whom God anointed with His Spirit making him a mighty one, one in the form of God having the full measure and power of God’s Spirit.
Clearly he is called these things as from what we are told in Isaiah 11,
1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. 2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD— 3 and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; 4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.
The Spirit of the Lord rests on this seed of David and Abraham because he was anointed with the Spirit having been born of God, making him the Christos. Jesus is not declared as the Christ because he pre-existed as the Christ, he is called Christ because God anointed the seed of Abraham. Jesus is not called a “mighty el”, because he pre-existed as a god, but because he was the seed of Abraham having been anointed with the full measure and powers of God’s Spirit.
January 13, 2019 at 2:25 pm#842622AnthonyParticipantHi Jodi
El= God
You are My witnesses,’ declares the Lord [YHWH, or Jehovah], ‘And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me,’” (Isaiah 43:10)
The word for “God” here is the simple Hebrew “el.” The most basic word for “god” and the same word used of the Messiah in Isaiah 9:6. If Jesus is the Messiah, He is the “Mighty God” or the “el gibbor,” and He is to be called upon as such. But there is no other true, living God besides Jehovah. There is no “el” but He, and His people are surely not to call on a false god for their deliverance. Thus, even standing on its own, Isaiah 9:6 is rather clear that the Mighty God on whom they are to call is Jehovah and not some lesser god that would by definition be a false god since there is only one true God and never will be another. Still, Isaiah didn’t stop writing at 9:6. In the very next chapter he says:
“Now in that day the remnant of Israel, and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped, will never again rely on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on the Lord [YHWH, or Jehovah], the Holy One of Israel. A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God,” (Isaiah 10:20-21).
Who are they returning to? To the Lord, Jehovah, the one true God of Israel. Here He is plainly called the “mighty God” [el gibbor] in the very same prophetic context as Isaiah 9:6.
What about the Servant of Isaiah?
God bless
January 13, 2019 at 2:31 pm#842623JodiParticipantAnthony,
The one True God calls Moses god (elohiym)
The one True God calls Jesus god (theos)
God refers to them both as a god because God anointed them both with powers of His Spirit.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore* God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
The Son is the son of David who God made into His own son. This is the Son who God is speaking to, the seed of Abraham who God anointed, perfected and raised from the dead putting him head over his FELLOWS as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
The Son of Man is coming in the glory of his Father, he comes with the powers of God’s Spirit to perform God’s will that God had established before He even had created the world.
January 13, 2019 at 3:03 pm#842624JodiParticipantHi t8 and Anthony,
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35 Until I make* thy foes thy footstool*. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Jesus the Son of Man was MADE into a Master and Christ, he did not pre-exist as a master and be sent down, Jesus of Nazareth was MADE a master and the Christ.
So t8 and Anthony how does that fit into your doctrine? You say a Master came down to earth, but scripture tells us that God made the seed of David and Abraham into a master and the Christ? David the prophet called his own son his master, and it was not because he thought he pre-existed him, but because his son was going to be head over him, Jesus would have God’s promise of eternal life BEFORE him, as the firstborn Son of Man to receive eternal life and be placed as King over the throne that he once had.
Also the Son of Man that sits at God’s right hand is said in Acts to have received the promise of the Holy Spirit. Jesus the Son of Man received the promise of eternal life, which God had promised to mankind before the world began.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Also, Isaiah speaks of the promise given to the seed of David that was to come,
Isaiah 53:9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.
No passage says that Jesus is given a portion “among the great” because he pre-existed not in flesh and came down from heaven, emptied himself, learned stuff all over again as he grew into a man, and receives eternal life once again because he came down to earth to die for us.
He receives a portion “among the great”, BECAUSE he is a Son of Man who God perfected through learning obedience and thus could be our sacrificial lamb for our sins. Jesus is one AMONG the brethren, a fellow human being, of the tribe of Judah, of the Jews of Nazareth, who is great and powerful because God ANOINTED him with His Spirit, because God was in him, he died and was given the promise of eternal life, that God had promised to give man before the world began..
God did not say that He would send himself or his god son down to earth let him be able to die and then make him immortal again.
God likewise never says that He is going to send down His Son to be David’s son. God would make David’s son into His own Son. The Messiah that CAME to the people came from Bethlehem, from David’s seed according to a promise whose coming forth are from ancient times. The prophets throughout the ages spoke of the Son of Man of Bethlehem coming as the Messiah.
The coming forth of the one from the clan of Judah was a plan God had before the world was even made. For God had planned before He created the heavens and the earth a SON OF MAN to be PERFECTED, to be made in His image, to sit at His right hand and perform His will to establish His righteous eternal kingdom.
Luke 22:69 But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God.”
