Hi T8,
Remember the Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil
days come and the years draw near when you will say,
’I have no delight in them’
before sun and the light, the moon and the stars are darkened,
and clouds return after the rain: in the day that the
watchmen of the house tremble, and mighty men stoop,
the grinding ones stand idle because they are few,
and those who look through windows grow dim;
and the doors on the street are shut as the sound
of the grinding mill is low, and one will arise at the
sound of the bird, and all the daughters of song
will sing softly. Furthermore, men are afraid of
the high place and of terrors on the road; the almond
tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags himself along,
and the caperberry is ineffective. For man goes to his
eternal home while mourners go about in the street.
Remember Him before the silver cord is broken,
and the golden bowl is crushed, the pitcher by the
well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed,
then the dust will return to the earth as it was,
and the spirit will return to God Who gave it.

Surely you do not think that God giving the law to men was useless?
God gave the law to make men clean, not perfect.
He gave it as food and as life.
Heb 7.19, 2 Tim 2.20f
The work of the indwelling Holy Spirit is what makes men perfect.
January 17, 2019 at 6:27 am#842787NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Jesus Christ, the New High Priest of the order of Melchizedek, offered up himself as a sacrifice to God.
Heb 7.27 .Heb 9 13f.Heb 9.24f. Heb 10.10
This High Priest entered the heavenly Holy of Holies through the veil of his flesh and through his own blood
Heb 9.11f , Heb 9.24. Heb 10.20
January 17, 2019 at 7:06 am#842788NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
The Law is life to those who delight in it.
Read Ps 119
Ps 119.1
How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.
Ps 119.9
How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping it according to thy word…..
January 17, 2019 at 10:44 am#842790ProclaimerParticipantHi T8,
Of course not.
He lives by the Holy Spirit.
He has the rivers of living water to share.
So he swapped spirits? The Spirit of Jesus is no longer, just the Holy Spirit now?
January 17, 2019 at 12:38 pm#842792JodiParticipantHi t8,
These verses are not spin but verses, God’s word, and it is NOT spin to understand one verse through the knowledge of another verse.
7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this DAY have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou VISITEST him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth:
23 Of this man’s seed hath God according to his PROMISE RAISED unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus
The name Jesus is the name given to a Son of Man, specifically the son of Abraham, Jesse, and David.
The Son of Man is called the Christ (Christos meaning anointed) because the Son of Man was begotten by God’s Spirit as that is what Jesus was anointed with the FULL Measure and Power of God’s Spirit.
What is absolute SPIN, is to take a passage speaking of Jesus the Christ, the anointed Son of Man having been anointed with God’s Spirit in fullness with power, and not apply it to this Son of Man, but instead you and others apply it to who you think he was before he was the Son of Man, and say it is referencing him before he was the Son of Man, before Jesus was actually born of Mary. You reference it to the one you believe existed before he came to earth and emptied himself.
The problem as to why pre-existence doesn’t make sense at all to me given the scriptures is primarily because not only is Jesus said to be resurrected a man, and is said to be returning as a man, what God had promised before Jesus was born was to send out into the world a man that had been anointed with the Spirit. This man coming to us sent from God having been anointed was promised to come from the seed of Abraham, Jesse, and David. Jesus after he was resurrected says he is the root and offspring of David, who is the son of Jesse, who came from Abraham. We see God’s promises in the OT fulfilled in the NT. Knowing that God had this all planned from the beginning and didn’t make things up as history unfolded, it makes perfect sense to apply scriptures that are being said specifically to be talking about Jesus the Christ, and apply them to the person who God promised He would send sometime in the future and that same person once he did come to actually exist. I apply all scripture to this knowledge given throughout the bible. When you don’t apply it you then end up misinterpreting it, and when you misinterpret it you miss the message of the truth that is being told to you.
What is given to us is God promised to give us a Son of Man who He would anoint with His Spirit and sends out into the world.
What is given to us is that God gives this MAN dominion over all the works of God’s hands.
What is given to us is that God had this planned before He made the world, all things God made through His hands He made through His Spirit of Wisdom with His plan of the PERFECTED MAN, and it is this MAN who fulfilled God’s promise to David that God would make David’s son into His own Son, and it is this MAN who was declared as God’s Son at the river, it is this MAN that God declared is His Son at his resurrection, it is this MAN that is called God’s Son because he is a perfect MAN, it is this MAN that is called God’s Son according to the Holy Spirit, it is this MAN who is called God’s only begotten, as the people beheld the glory of this Son of Man as he performed signs and miracles through God’s powers in front of their own eyes.
I apply Jesus being called God’s Only begotten Son as God’s promise to David being fulfilled.
What is given to us is a Son of Man that was like us able to be tempted and because of that he is our righteous judge
What had been given to the people was a Son of Man in the form of God being full of God’s Spirit and powers, with those powers he saw himself as equal to God, but he emptied himself, he emptied himself of his own will, he humbled himself and made himself a servant, only using those powers for God’s will.
What has been given to us is a man made perfect by God sacrificed to pay for our sins.
What is given to us is that God had promised David that he was going to make David’s son into His firstborn son.
What is given to us is that God promised man eternal life even before the world was.
What is given to us is the firstborn of the dead, in him all things consist as he is the source of eternal salvation, without him God would not have made the world, he made all things through this Son of Man, as we are directly told He did, as it says the one who shed his blood for us.
We are also to be made perfect, we are also to be made Sons of God. We are also to be made into a heavenly man like Jesus.
What we are given is God made the son of David our master and the Christ, who is a Son of God according to the Spirit of Holiness that he was anointed with.
January 17, 2019 at 1:49 pm#842800ProclaimerParticipantJodi, where did I say that these verses are spin. I didn’t and neither do I preach against them. Jesus emptied himself and came in the flesh, so was made for a time a little lower than the angels because coming in the flesh means he partook of human nature meaning he was a man. Saying that we are not saying he was a man is a mistake at best and breaking a commandment at worse by bearing false witness. All things including the universe were made through him and for him so saying that Jesus being born the Christ and emptying himself and coming in flesh doesn’t disregard that God made him to have dominion over the works of his hands or will put all things under his feet. These kinds of rebuttals are ridiculous because they do not in any way deny this truth:
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
All these lengthy posts that quote scripture we agree with anyway are a cover for the naked truth that you deny the above verse. Simple.
January 17, 2019 at 3:15 pm#842801JodiParticipantHi t8,
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
First we are being told that we need to be like minded with the anointed one, the one that was born given the name Jesus, the Son of David. We are to think like he thought.
Below is the thoughts of the Son of Man the ANOINTED Jesus. The WHO is not a non flesh person before he became Jesus, it is JESUS and his thoughts when he was on earth.
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
You miss the entire message, you miss the actual significance and importance.
VERSE 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
This is how it is understood when you apply it to WHO it says it is speaking of Jesus given that name as the Son of David WHEN BORN on EARTH.
Jesus the anointed FULL of the Spirit and power was in the form of God, having that fullness and power he saw himself as equal to God. But this Jesus made himself of no reputation, he said he did everything through God because God was in him. Other men in the past when receiving a gift from God they turned on God, they didn’t even have close to the measure of the Spirit or power that Jesus did. The prophets in the OT are a prime example, they began to prophecy lies for their own gain, they did not acknowledge God they filled themselves with vanity instead of humbleness. Jesus made himself a servant with these powers, he like us with weak flesh and fear of death, was even willing to be obedient to his death. We give honor to Jesus because of this, but you want us to give him honor because he once had eternal life and chose to give it up for awhile.
We are to be LIKE MINDED with Jesus, the Son of Man, because the gifts that he received he humbled himself, he did not do any deed through VAIN GLORY. For those receiving gifts from God whether they be made a prophet, an apostle, one given the power to speak in tongues, or the ability to heal, the message is to be like the anointed Son of Man, where no vain glory was in him, he was a servant only to God and not himself, who was able to even be obedient to God’s will unto death.
Jesus asks these men to also be faithful unto death,
10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
You change the WHO, and reference the Christ as WHEN he was NOT FLESH. Any time you take a passage that says Jesus or Christ and you reference it as speaking of him as NOT in the flesh, you are speaking antichrist.
Christ means anointed, yes the anointed one came in the flesh that is BECAUSE Jesus, the Son of man in the flesh was anointed and he was sent out into the world. We are told in Acts that God took David’s son and MADE him into a master and the anointed one.
His anointing means he, the Son of Man, RECEIVED God’s Spirit, it has NOTHING to do with him being something before he was born and then was that same something when he was born on earth.
First you have the son of David then you have the son be anointed. First you have the root of Jesse then you have God giving him of His Spirit filling him with wisdom, understanding, etc.. This is WHY we are told that God would beget David’s son on a certain day. Why we are not told that one day God would send down an already existing son.
At NO time in Philippians 2 or Colossians 1, are they speaking of Christ referring to him as someone WHEN he was NOT FLESH.
January 17, 2019 at 4:27 pm#842802NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
If do not take care with the Word and handle it with accuracy how can you ever learn?
Scripture never says that JESUS came in the flesh.
CHRIST is not just like a surname.
The ANOINTED ONE.

Interesting Nick. Where exactly did I say that? I’m curious now.

Righto Nick,
The bible instead says: Jesus Christ came in the flesh
and Micah 5:2 says the spirit of Christ came to Bethlehem, not to Jordan
____________
God bless
Ed JJanuary 17, 2019 at 5:50 pm#842805ProclaimerParticipantCHRIST is not just like a surname.
No matter what smoke screen you put up this is a true saying:
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
All this bragging that only you have this spirit that leads to truth, is pointless because you need to accept this scripture. Start there and see where it leads. When you believe he was the Christ from the beginning, it will help you understand many other scriptures too.
January 17, 2019 at 5:56 pm#842806NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Love the scripture.
If only you could spiritually understand it.
But defending man’s traditions seems a greater priority for you.

Where does Micah 5.2 say this?
What translation are you relying on?

’JESUS EMPTIED HIMSELF AND CAME IN THE FLESH’
January 17, 2019 at 6:56 pm#842811NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Micah 5.2
But as for you Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah,
out of you one will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.
His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.
But you say it says the spirit of Christ came to Bethlehem.
Whom should we believe?
January 17, 2019 at 7:28 pm#842813JodiParticipantHi Ed J,
Did God NOT promise eternal life to man before He made the world?
Do we not have eternal life because God made a man perfect and then sacrificed him to pay for our sins?
Was this man not from the tribe of Judah?
Was this man who is said to be from the tribe of Judah born in Bethlehem who brought eternal life, NOT promised to come since ancient times? How many years after God spoke to Abraham did Micah speak? How many years went by from the time God guarded the tree of life before Micah spoke? How many years went by since God promised eternal life verses when Micah spoke? Do we know? Can We know? Oh that’s right, God is eternal and the going forth of a ruler in Israel were of God in the days of eternity. Before the days of death when man sinned on earth.
Micah 5:2 (And thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall he come forth unto me [who is] to be Ruler in Israel: whose goings forth are from of old, from the days of eternity.)
HE is not from of old, how could he be, as the going forth is a human ruler for Israel. You can’t have a ruler of Israel when you don’t even have an earth yet. Before the heavens were created with the Sun and moon, before day time and night time, before our months and years, the going forth OF the ruler of Israel was established, NOT the ruler of Israel pre-existed, the going forth of a ruler was planned from the days of eternity, before our time.
January 17, 2019 at 8:29 pm#842815ProclaimerParticipantToday in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
It’s obvious that anyone who doesn’t believe this is off to a bad start and shouldn’t take up teaching.
