You still lack understanding. I never have said he was a man before being born as a man in Bethlehem.
The Word became flesh. That might give you a clue.
You shouldn’t bear false witness about what people teach. Such is breaking the commandments and no good ever comes of it.
December 11, 2018 at 3:30 pm#836198NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Something that was not a man partook of flesh?
What was this something and did it really become a man?
Was this something anointed before birth?
Was Mary his natural mother?
December 11, 2018 at 3:47 pm#836199NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
So when something partakes of flesh that is not CONCEPTION as we know it.
Jesus was CONCEIVED.
How do you figure this?
December 11, 2018 at 4:12 pm#836200NickHassanParticipantHi Dig4,
The Word was God. Why do you read it as IS GOD?
1 Jn 1
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes,
what we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word Of Life.
Jn 1.4
IN Him was Life; and the life was the light of men.
John understood.
The Word of Life IN Jesus is the eternal Spirit.
December 11, 2018 at 7:49 pm#836205NickHassanParticipantHi Dig4,
CHRIST means ANOINTED.
Jesus is the anointed one, anointed with the Holy Spirit as Acts 10 tells us.
So if he was God why would he need to be anointed?
December 11, 2018 at 8:12 pm#836206NickHassanParticipantHi Dig4,
You surprised me when you showed you were unaware that the anointing Holy Spirit was before the man Jesus.
Gen 1.1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was formless and void,
and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
Scripture is spiritual so put aside reliance on pathetic human wisdom when you read it.
December 11, 2018 at 10:28 pm#836210ProclaimerParticipantWhat was this something and did it really become a man?
The Logos.
December 12, 2018 at 1:16 am#836211Dig4truthParticipantNick: “You surprised me when you showed you were unaware that the anointing Holy Spirit was before the man Jesus.”
Gen 1:1-3 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
If it was created then Yeshua created it. In fact nothing that was created, was created by anyone else but Him. I’m just telling you what the Scripture says.
Col 1:15-16 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.
Unfortunately, Nick, you’ve ceased surprising me.
December 12, 2018 at 4:39 am#836212NickHassanParticipantHi Dig4,
Yes the Spirit of God in Jesus Christ was responsible for creation.
Ps 104.30
Flesh contributes nothing.
December 12, 2018 at 4:41 am#836213NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Yes The Word was with God and was God.
But Jesus began life by conception of and in his mother Mary.
December 12, 2018 at 10:28 am#836218Dig4truthParticipantNick, which part of “For by Him all things were created” don’t you understands?
And how can you say that “the Spirit of God in Jesus Christ was responsible for creation” and then turn around and say out of the other side of your mouth that Jesus wasn’t there?
Please explain how the Spirit of God could be in someone who wasn’t there!
December 12, 2018 at 10:47 am#836219ProclaimerParticipant@nickhassan, the Word became flesh, not God and God is not a man. You seem to teach that God became flesh and a man.
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Notice that Christ Jesus emptied himself and took on the nature of man. This is written, so I accept it. Whereas you teach a random man called Jesus became the Christ thirty or so years later. He was not the Word, but a normal man only. But scripture says that he took the form of a man and he was sent.
And if you had any doubt, you would also believe that God created all things through him and for him because this is also clearly written.
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.…
@Dig4truth, this is for you too. God created all things through the son and through his Word. And that Word became flesh and that Word was with God in the beginning, even before the cosmos. Jesus, the son of God is the Word become flesh, he is not God become flesh and nor is he a created man only. He was also more like Adam, a prototype son.God created all things through the son of God and the Word that was with god in the beginning.
These things are written so we will know the truth.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The Hebrews recognized the existence of many gods who are capable of doing many signs and wonders – such as turning staffs into living snakes, turning water into blood, and causing frogs to come up onto dry land. Otherwise, by what power were the priests of Pharaoh – mere men – able to do these things? And for what reason would Jehovah have said these words…
<span style=”color: #0000ff;”>Exodus 12:12</span>
<span style=”color: #0000ff;”><span id=”en-NIV-1829″ class=”text Exod-12-12″>“On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am Jehovah.</span><span id=”en-NIV-1849″ class=”text Exod-12-32″>”</span></span>
Surely Jehovah wasn’t about to pass judgement on wooden and stone idols, right? Surely wooden and stone idols are not capable of doing the signs and wonders mentioned above, right? No, the gods of Egypt were (and still are) powerful living entities capable of doing all kinds of things humans cannot. Of course this is just one example… the scriptures are loaded with many examples of powerful gods.
So the first thing people have to get their heads around is that the Hebrews believed (and the Bible teaches) that there are many lords and many gods, both in heaven and on earth, and that YHWH is the Most High God OF all the other gods. And let’s face it, one cannot be the God OF gods if there are no other gods to be the God OF. Nor is it sensible to call someone or something the Most High in a category that one has one member. We wouldn’t say “the Most High Taj Mahal”, since there is only one of them, right? Same with “Almighty”. There are many mighty gods mentioned in the scriptures – but only one Almighty God.
Unfortunately, this is a hard teaching for most to get their heads around. They reject it out of hand despite the clear scriptural teachings, simply because they’ve been previously taught for years that there is only one God, period. D4T, are you able to accept this scriptural teaching – or would you like some more examples of powerful gods in scripture? (I single you out here because I’ve already been through this many times with most of the other members here. And also because you’ve done me a great service in leading me to investigate the nature of the world God created for us, and I would like to return the favor.)
December 12, 2018 at 1:37 pm#836227Dig4truthParticipantInteresting point Mike. I personally believe that many of these so called gods were the fallen angels and their offspring the Nephilim. Men worshipped them as gods and that seems clear in most historical records of antiquity. To mere mortals they would certainly be godlike.
T8, I was with up to this point; “this is for you too. God created all things through the son and through his Word. No you are up a gumtree.
A man like you was filled with the Spirit.
A vessel found clean enough to hold this Holy treasure.
And he wants you to follow him.

I agree there’s many god’s too.
I think that some of them are god’s of the nation.
And that Almighty God is Over All of them, and God allows them to do there work on nation and us.
Like He did on Job, God only the God’s or God so far.
God bless

They are the angels indeed… fallen or not. In other words, they are the powerful spirit beings God created before he created mankind… the ones who shouted for joy when God laid the foundations of the earth. (Job 38:6-7) They are those such as Michael, Gabriel, and Satan. Also Dagon, Ashteroth, Molech, Ra, etc. The Hebrew and Greek words translated into English as “angel” both just mean “messenger”. When certain English translators thought the “messenger” in question was a spirit entity, they would use the word “angel” instead of “messenger”. The Young’s Literal Translation carries the original “messenger” throughout. To the Hebrews and their contemporaries, these messengers were gods. Not “so-called gods” – as that phrase isn’t in the Hebrew or Greek scriptures at all. It is an English translator gloss. The same goes with “false god”. You will not find that phrase in the Hebrew and Greek scriptures. They referred to them as gods because they are gods. Yahweh Himself calls them gods over and over throughout scripture. And remember this well known psalm by David (which was repeated by Paul)?
Psalm 8:4-5
What is man that You are mindful of him; the son of man that You care for him? You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor.
Well David actually wrote “you have made him a little lesser than the gods“. The translators of the Septuagint knew that David referred to God’s spirit sons, and translated it as “messengers”. And Paul was quoting the LXX in Hebrews 2:7, and therefore also used “messengers”. The English translators, knowing that both David and Paul referred to spirit messengers of God, translated it as “angels”. Unfortunately, most of them also back-translated the idea of angels into Psalm 8 – instead of leaving it as “gods”… as David wrote it. So David wrote “gods”, and Paul quoted the LXX, which had changed it to “messengers”. And the English translators changed Paul’s “messengers” to “angels”, and then enforced that NT writing from Paul back onto David’s original “gods”.
Wow… I hope you were able to follow that. 🙂

Hey Anthony, you are spot on. They are indeed the gods of the nations. Some of them were the gods of Egypt who were able to duplicate the first three signs that Jehovah did through Moses and Aaron. You are also right that the Most High God will allow them to go only as far as He wants them to. I imagine those gods of Egypt matching the first three signs, and then attempting to match the fourth like it was no big thing, but all of a sudden realizing they no longer had the power to do so. Like I Dream of Jeannie blinking her eyes to make her magic – only to find out it didn’t work anymore. 🙂 After all, they couldn’t have turned a staff into a living snake unless their own God gave them the power to do so. And just as He gives, He can take it back any time He wants to.
It’s also why Satan (one of the most powerful gods) had to ask permission from his own God and Creator, YHWH, to do the things he did to Job.
God allowed this to happen to Job then – and to us now – because Satan serves God’s purpose of purifying His true followers with fire to remove the dross – so that only the pure silver and gold remains. After all, Jesus wouldn’t have given Peter this warning if Satan’s request hadn’t been granted to by God…
Luke 22:31
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
