To ALL,
36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. 37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
We are children of God ACCORDING to the resurrection of the dead, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will all be raised to LIFE from being DEAD, which is to cease to exist, where you have no thoughts, no plans, because it is like you are asleep. God is LIFE, sin separates you from God because your fate is then death, to perish, to decay. In Christ we have LIFE because he brings the resurrection of the dead. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob died in FAITH so they shall rise to life receiving the promise of eternal life. They shall RISE to LIFE and MEET Jesus in the air, where just after this those in Christ that were still alive at his second coming will also receive eternal life and MEET Jesus in the air. They will all receive the promise on that great day, when the trumpets sounds and they are changed. They will SEE Jesus for who he is because they shall be as he is.
There is no scripture that says that death means to not have a body, death means that you have NO LIFE, there is no life in you. In Christ we have LIFE, our life is restored.
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
DEATH,
Ecc 3:19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
1 Cor 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I will say it again Paul NEVER speaks of having HOPE in LIVING without a BODY, his DESIRE was to absent from a MORTAL BODY and Paul knew exactly when he would be present with the Lord having a body that could no longer sin.
Hebrews 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Paul NEVER speaks of being without a body at all, his hope, his comfort was held in the resurrection from being dead and receiving an incorruptible body.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
November 27, 2018 at 4:50 am#835828GeneBalthropParticipantEdj……The apostles ask Jesus to tell them how to pray, he to pray like this, “our father” which art in heaven……… all of that was written in the “PRESENT TENSE”. SO how do you and others think you have the right to change it to “Future Tense” ?
That is exactly what you people do to manulipate our text, causing confusions.
No one has risen from the grave and recieved eternal life but Jesus himself to this very day.
Peace and love to you and ……..gene

The faithful Spirit of life abides in the sons of God
and will raise them at the return of Jesus when they are revealed.

You said: Ignorant carnal men cannot know God and His works
Nick you don’t have much to say as usual. Always trying to belittle people the friut of the spiritis is shining right out of you.howlo g have you been this way? Isn’t time you grow up and repent and hope the Father draw you to The Son of God, Christ Jesus.
Satan deceive the whole world even you Nick.
And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. You will figure it out after awhile.God bless
November 27, 2018 at 6:28 am#835831AnthonyParticipantHi Nick
But in A GREAT HOUSE there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth and some to honor, and some to dishonor” (II Tim. 2:20).
Nick what is this “great house” of which Paul speaks? Let Paul answer:
“But if I tarry long, that you may know how you ought to behave yourself in the House of God which is The Church of the Living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” (I Tim. 3:15). Peter tells us that this House of God definitely needs judging:
“For the time is come that JUDGMENT must begin at The House of God…” (I Pet. 4:17).
If the “House of God” needed judgment in the days of the Apostles, how much more judgment does it need today? And what did Paul prophesy would happen in this “GREAT House” in our day, “in the LATTER TIMES?” Let’s read it from the source:
“Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the LATTER TIMES some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking LIES IN HYPOCRISY; having their conscience seared with a hot iron” (I Tim. 4:1).
And this:
“This, know also, that IN THE LAST DAYS, perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent[without self-control], fierce[brutal], despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady[reckless], high-minded[haughty], lovers of pleasures more than [rather than] lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away… EVER learning, and NEVER able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (II Tim. 3:1-7)
God bless Nick
November 27, 2018 at 6:51 am#835832NickHassanParticipantHi Anthony,
Some will be saved as with the 8 saved by the Ark in the time of Noah.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God remains the top priority.
Then the words of the apostles apply to you.
November 27, 2018 at 6:54 am#835833NickHassanParticipantHi Anthony,
Indeed the false church, the whore of Babylon, has seduced most into following the useless religion of men.
Men worship men and their humanist doctrines while God watches and waits.
November 27, 2018 at 6:57 am#835834NickHassanParticipantHi Anthony,
Join the house of God.
All must repent and be reborn of water and the Spirit.
Then you will be able to see the kingdom of God and not need to follow men.
November 27, 2018 at 7:32 am#835835NickHassanParticipantHi Anthony,
Do you agree with the pagans who said that
’The gods have become like men and have come down to us’?
Paul was so horrified he tore his garments and told the pagans that they were of the same nature as them
and tried to turn them from vain things to the living God who made the heaven
and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.
Why do you think that men do the miracles of God?
November 27, 2018 at 9:23 am#835836AnthonyParticipantHi Nick
You said: Indeed the false church, the whore of Babylon, has seduced most into following the useless religion of men.
No Nick the whole world has been.
And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. You will figure it out after awhile even you Nick. God blessNovember 27, 2018 at 10:03 am#835838ProclaimerParticipantJODI: You wonder why t8 it said many of the BODIES of the saint were raised from the grave, BUT it DOES NOT say ALL were raised? WHY not ALL the bodies of the saints were raised?
One obvious answer would be that they didn’t see every single saint because if every single saint was raised, you wouldn’t have seen them all. Thus, the sentence is honest because it was based on observation. And because it doesn’t say that some saints were not raised, you cannot come to that conclusion from the text.
November 27, 2018 at 10:25 am#835839ProclaimerParticipantAlso t8 did you catch that, it said the bodies from the graves, not spirits, but bodies were resurrected.
Equally, it doesn’t say that their spirits were not raised. But if you want to believe that God raised the bodies only and they walked around without a spirit, then you are free to believe that. Sounds like the Walking Dead to me though.
Also t8 this does not say they were raised to eternal life.
Equally, it doesn’t say they were not raised to eternal life. What Paul said was to away from the body was to be present with the Lord.
Hebrews 11:39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
Yes, they were not under the new covenant but the old one. The new one is so much better.
1 Thess 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I’m guessing you believe that sleep means lights out, no life, no consciousness. But sleep in the normal sense is rest with life and consciousness. When we die, it may not be exactly like the sleep we experience everyday, but I assume it is a time of rest and in the Lord’s presence. Paul looked forward to it even more than his life on earth.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these word
Comforting words indeed. The dead rise first. Later, we which are alive will meet them with the Lord. Yes we are with the Lord when we die and those who are alive at the mentioned time will meet them who are already with the Lord and will meet the Lord himself too.
November 27, 2018 at 3:37 pm#835843NickHassanParticipantHi Anthony,
Are you still of the world?
Come out of her.
November 27, 2018 at 4:55 pm#835844GeneBalthropParticipantT8……Jodi explained exactly right, no one is resurected until Jesus returns to this earth, scripture shows clearly that Jesus is the only one raised to eternal life so far, the first resurection takes place at his return. The trump shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise first to meet the lord and then those still alive in Christ shall be changed in a moment and rise to meet the lord Jesus. No one who has died has risen yet but Jesus.
Peace and love to you and yours. …….gene
November 27, 2018 at 5:08 pm#835845NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
Yes their resurrection was not like that of Jesus but just like that of Jonah and Lazarus.
They did not receive new bodies but just raised for a time in the old ones.
November 27, 2018 at 8:14 pm#835847NickHassanParticipantHi,
Heb 11.35
Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting their release,
in order that they might obtain A BETTER RESURRECTION.
That of the Messiah is the best one.
November 28, 2018 at 1:39 am#835875TruthcomberParticipantHi Nick,
You sure got your last two posts right.
November 28, 2018 at 1:54 am#835876TruthcomberParticipantHi T8,
I believe your last post rings of the truth. You comprehend the truth. Except for a few minor adjustments, very good. The idea is right. But I believe that those alive when Christ returns must die to their bodies first. It is appointed for all men to die at least once. Then their spirits (their minds and hearts of Christ in the holy spirit) rise to be with Christ. Their humanity is bonded with Christ in the holy spirit. he will never leave them. The other adjustment is “dead in Christ “shall appear first”, which I think is a better translation that “rise first”. They dead in Christ shall appear first because they receive their new bodies first. The alive saints must die first to receive their new bodies. The dead in Christ have died already.
November 28, 2018 at 2:00 am#835877TruthcomberParticipantHi T8,
I just thought I would help buttress your understanding that the dead in Christ live with Christ in heaven in the spirit.
Phil 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: 24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. 25 And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith.
Me: Here Paul is caught in a quandary between being in heaven without his body or being with the Philippians for their benefit. It is speaking about the present tense. It is not speaking of a future body. What sense would that make. If that was the case, Paul just as well remain in his present body and be with the Philippians.
New American Standard Bible
John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.God is spirit. The Messiah is spirit, a reflection and direct image of God. We are spirits. We do not need a body to live as long as the holy spirit is bonded to us through the humanity of Christ. We have the spirit of life, the holy spirit with the heart and mind of Christ in it. We will never die. Christ will never leave us.
November 28, 2018 at 4:09 am#835881GeneBalthropParticipantTC…..AMAZING see how you have shifted the “IMAGE” OF JESUS FROM A MAN INTO to a GOD, IN YOUR false rendering of him. You have changed the anointed one into the GOD who created him, you preach exactly what the fallen church of 2 ths 2 TAUGHT. You have taken a man Jesus the “anointed” one and have turned the “IMAGE” OF HIM INTO A GOD, WHO YOU WORSHIP AND PROCLAIM AS YOUR GOD,
We Are not spirits, nor is Jesus, even though a spirit is in us that does not make us spirits. Jesus clearly said after his reseruction he was not a spirit, saying for , “a Spirit has not flesh and bone as you see I have”. So to you the Son of Man does not return to this earth as a man, but a spirit does, seening he is a spirit being now, right? Scripture nor Jesus do not agree with you at all.
Peace and love to you and yours. …….gene
