T8…..show us were Jesus was ever “tested” before  he came to adult hood and was given the”Holy Spirit”.  Why did God wait till,  then to test him, seeing as you believe he already had the Holy Spirit, anointing on him .  Why was I t shown clearly in all four GOSPELS, as a distinct sign from God, that was visibly seen, a physical manifacation of the Holy Spirit “decending” down on him and remaining.

Are we to listen to you,  and treat this great sign given from God the Father written in all four Gospels,  as just a “lie” or somekind of smoke and mirrors deception, a needless double anointing to fool us, when he was already anointed at birth according to your rendition of what a angel meant?

Jodi and I are completely right on this T8, it’s your misfortune not to be able to percieve it, not our.

Thank God at least a few understand the Anointing process of Jesus, as clearly shown in scriptures “four times”

Carmel do you also deny Jesus anonoting process from God,  shown in our scriptures, seeing you believe he always was God, then why would he even need to be anointed at all,  right?

Peace and love to you and yours. ……….gene

Caught you out again Gene. If you are also referring to me that is. I don’t deny Jesus baptism and never have. You either lack understanding or are bearing false witness.

I SERIOUSLY cannot understand why you cannot address the passages I directly gave to you in my post before my last.

I think that was the post where you gave me 3 chapters to look at.

Regardless, I’ve told you before that your posts are too long and I usually read the first paragraph. I think the only one who reads them is Gene, so you could just PM him these essays instead because I doubt anyone else reads them regularly.

I engage in conversation here. If you converse in a way that you would outside this forum, then your points will get read and answered. Be patient. Trying to cram every thing into one post is being impatient. Rightly divide the word. Make one point per post so it gets seen and answered.

T8…..Are you speaking to me or Carmel?, if it’ me , I’ll keep it simple for you, question one, Do you believe the three Gospels I posted, clearly show, the anointing of Jesus with the Holy Spirit of God,  after he was baptized by John at the Jordan river ? Yes or no.

Question 2 , Do you believe Jesus was anointed twice ? Yes or no.

Peace and love to you and yours. ……..gene

    Good Morning All,

A prophecy of a human savior and his reward,

Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

A MAN was to come to die for our sins.

“By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many.”

He has knowledge BECAUSE God rested His Spirit upon him, he was called to righteousness and through that calling he is a servant dedicated/anointed by God to justify many. The resting of the Spirit IS AN ANOINTING, MEANING to be consecrated/be set apart/be dedicated for a purpose established by God to carry out God’s will.

Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD.

    Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street…. 6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

    Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; BECAUSE the LORD hath ANOINTED me TO preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me TO bind up the brokenhearted, TO proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

    t8 and All,

God’s WORD from long ago, even before the world began, was of a man to come who God would anoint/consecrate/set apart/dedicate for a purpose to carry out all of God’s will. God SET THIS MAN APART from all other men by resting His Spirit upon him without measure, by calling him to righteousness where God would direct ALL His ways. God had said concerning the son of Jesse who He called to righteousness that He would not give His glory to any other, any other meaning of the people whom in the prior verse God declared He had made and had given the breath of life to and a spirit to walk therein.

Matthew 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

THIS IS the fulfillment of Jesus being ANOINTED/consecrated/set apart/dedicated TO preach God’s Word, to deliver captives, able to do so BECAUSE “for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him(John 3). Upon the Spirit of God descending upon Jesus like a dove that is God’s Spirit coming to rest upon him where he has been called to righteousness and he would fulfill all righteousness.

People BELIEVE God’s WORD, that God CALLED a MAN to RIGHTEOUSNESS for to be a LIGHT, He directed ALL his ways by having him be LED by His Spirit. “Those who are LED by the Spirit of God are the Sons of God”.

1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

The Son of God was manifested BY being called to righteousness, by being led by God’s Spirit where he would not fail, as God would “hold his hand and keep him” for to be a LIGHT to all people.

Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

2 Samuel 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son.

JESUS is a Son of God because God called him to righteousness, because God rested His Spirit upon him directing all his ways, having him be LED by God’s Spirit.

Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,..14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all…18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

At the river Jordan when the Spirit descended like a dove upon Jesus, Jesus was FILLED with the Holy Spirit, BORN AGAIN, he was called to righteousness, he was led by God’s Spirit being a Son of God, he was ANOINTED/consecrated/set apart/dedicated TO proclaim God’s word, to deliver captives, to perform ALL of God’s will, to be a LIGHT to all people.

Acts 10:36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

The WORD of God being published was that God ANOINTED a MAN with the Holy Spirit and with power, who then went about doing good and healing.

We are saved through God setting a man a part from other men by giving that man His Spirit without measure filling him with grace and truth. No other mortal man did God direct all his ways. No other mortal man was fully led by God’s Spirit to fulfill all righteousness, and thus no other mortal man was God’s only begotten Son.

It is the Spirit of God that brings us eternal life, and Jesus having been perfected through the Spirit resting upon him, he BECAME our source for eternal salvation.

The Gospel of God is that God SAVED us by ANOINTING/SETTING APART Jesus of Nazareth WITH the Holy Spirit and power, so that he would fulfilled all of God’s will, so he would be perfected and go to the cross to die for our sins.

The Gospel of God IS NOT God sending down an anointed/set apart spirit son and transforming him into a baby. The Gospel of God is that God sent a MAN who He called to righteousness out into the world to save that which was lost. The Gospel of God is that God RAISED up a Savior from the fruit of David’s loins.

    Hi t8,

Are the prophesies of Isaiah in chapters 11, 42, and 61 fulfilled by when the Spirit descended like a dove upon Jesus?

Does the anointing of Jesus of Nazareth coincide, according to scripture, with the Spirit of the LORD being placed upon him?

    11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my Spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

    61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

John 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

    Hi Carmel,

    YOU:

BY WHICH TITLES HE REDEEMED HUMANITY?

    AND CONFIRMED THAT HE WAS

    THE TRUTH?

    WHY JESUS IS THE TRUTH?

WHAT ACTUALLY IS BEHIND JESUS’ WORDS WHEN HE PROCLAIMED THAT HE IS THE TRUTH?

    SIMPLY BECAUSE HE PREEXISTED!

ME: Uh, I am giving you a big FAT NO Carmel!!

Why you ask is Jesus the truth?

What part of the offspring of Jesse having God’s Spirit rest upon him, the Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding, Council and Might, Knowledge and fear of the LORD, do you not get?

What part of the offspring of Jesse being called to righteousness for to be a LIGHT do you not get?

What part of David’s prophecy of a HUMAN who God was going to be mindful of and visit, do you not get?

What part of scripture where it is said that Jesus speaks the words of God because God GAVE him of His Spirit without measure, do you not get?

Jesus is TRUTH because in him God fulfilled His words spoken by the prophets AND because God dedicated/anointed him to speak the truth of His words, which mind you is also in and of itself a fulfilled prophecy!!

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel..

ANOINTED/Consecrated/set apart/dedicated TO PREACH the Gospel through having the Spirit of God descend like a dove and abode upon him.

    To All,

Let us separate the difference of beliefs according to The Ordinary Jesus Brigade,

Belief 1. Jesus is not ordinary because he pre-existed as an anointed spirit and then came down to begin a new life as a baby sucking his mom’s breasts and soiling himself.

It is by Jesus pre-existing as an anointed spirit and becoming a human that we are able to be saved.

Belief 2. Jesus is not ordinary because he is the only mortal human who God elected out of the people, setting him apart by directing all his ways through having His Spirit abode upon him without measure.

It is by God calling the son of Jesse to righteousness for to be a LIGHT that we are saved.

    To All,

I would like to give some equations that I find to be clear from scripture,

The resting of the Spirit upon you = being called to righteousness

The resting of the Spirit upon you = being anointed/set apart/consecrated/dedicated

Being called to righteousness = being anointed/ set apart/ consecrated/dedicated

The resting of the Spirit upon you = Being led by the Spirit

Being called to righteousness = Being led by the Spirit

Being led by the Spirit = being a Son of God

The Spirit resting upon you = being begotten by God

Being called to righteousness = being begotten by God

Being led by the Spirit = being begotten by God

Being begotten by God = being a Son of God

Being anointed/set apart/consecrated/dedicated by God = being begotten by God

Being a Son of God = Being anointed/set apart/consecrated/dedicated by God

God directing all your ways = a calling to righteousness

God directing all your ways = being anointed/set apart/consecrated/dedicated by God

God directing all your ways = a Son of God

God directing all your ways = being begotten by God

God directing all your ways = being led by the Spirit

God being mindful of you = God visiting you

God visiting you = the resting of the Spirit upon you

The resting of the Spirit upon you = God being mindful of you

and so on and so forth

    So,

The resting of the Spirit upon you = God being mindful of you = God visiting you = being called to righteousness = being anointed = being led by the Spirit = being a Son of God = being begotten by God = God directing all your ways.

ALL these were promised by God ACCORDING to God’s WORD written by the prophets to be fulfilled in a HUMAN of the offspring of Abraham, Jesse, and David. Jesus is that HUMAN.

Gene, I’m not making any claims that you test me on. I believe in the City of David, he was the Christ. It is written. Simple as that. You accuse me of this and that or think that I believe this or that.

What I believe is Jesus is the Christ.

It appears you do not. You believe that Jesus Christ is the Christ and thus Jesus is not the Christ. It is what you, Nick, and Jodi not only believe, but also teach.

T8…..Again you skirt the issue, then lie about what  Jodi, Nick, and I always have said,  we do believe Jesus was anointed by God, we have never denied that at any time here. It is you who will not answer my question about when he became the anointed one of God.  Was it at the time it was clearly recorded in the three Gospels I quoted, or as you say he was born anointed at birth or perhaps even before he was born, as you do believe he prexisted his birth as the “word” which also is not true.

Saying we don’t believe in the anointing of the man Jesus is an apsolute lie.  It appears it is you who do not believe the man Jesus was anointed where scripture clearly show him being anointed, with the Holy Spirit.

By you denying  his anointing of the HOLY Spirit at the Jordan River,  as “ALL”  three Gospels “clearly” shows , to me makes you an Antichrist,  because you do not reconize his anointing process as “clearly” shown in all three GOSPELS.

Peace and love to you and yours. ……..gene

    Hi t8,

YOU:It appears you do not. You believe that Jesus Christ is the Christ and thus Jesus is not the Christ. It is what you, Nick, and Jodi not only believe, but also teach.

ME: This doesn’t make any sense t8. You are LOST, your Christ looks nothing like what scripture directly gives you, as it seems you have no clue as to what ANOINT means, it means God is setting you apart, dedicating you, hallowing you, be separated, be sanctified.

    Christ = Christos = anointed

Christos IS FROM the word CHRIO

    CHRIO = TO ANOINT
consecrating Jesus to the Messianic office, and furnishing him with the necessary powers for its administration.

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, BECAUSE he hath anointed (CHRIO) me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Acts 10:38 How God anointed (CHRIO) Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Jesus of Nazareth was ANOINTED/CONSECRATED WITH the Holy Spirit, to be sent out and do good deeds, to fulfill all of God’s will. NO other human was consecrated/anointed/set apart given the Spirit without measure, being called to righteousness, for to be a LIGHT to all people.

Acts 4:24 And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM 25 who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, ‘WHY  DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS? 26 ‘THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.‘ 27 For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed (CHRIO), both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

Jesus was a servant of God, he went to the river to be baptized to fulfill all righteousness according to God’s will, and the Spirit descended like a dove abiding upon him and remaining, an anointing (CHRIO/Conscecrated) making him our CHRISTOS/set apart/dedicated, having the Spirit and power of God without measure so he could PREACH, DELIVER CAPTIVES, be for a LIGHT to all people.

Jesus didn’t pre-exist as the WORD. David SPOKE God’s WORD through God anointing him with the Holy Spirit. Jesus didn’t create heaven and earth God did, and He did it through (be reason of) and for the HUMAN who He said He would not give His glory to any other to, a full measure of His Spirit and power, anointing him/dedicating him to fulfill all His will.

1 Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

David was a prophet he was anointed/dedicated, given God’s Spirit, to speak God’s words and give prophecy. David’s son was the only mortal to be begotten by God’s Spirit filled with grace and truth having the Spirit and power of God without measure, being set apart/anointed/dedicated to fulfill all of God’s will, being fully led by God’s Spirit and thus is an only begotten Son.

    Christ = Christos = anointed

It doesn’t make sense because you are the one not making sense. While it may seem fuzzy to you, read this carefully and it will become clear.

    Strike 1

We know that a heavenly messenger declared in the City of David that the infant was the messiah at that moment.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

    Strike 2

So your argument as well as Gene and Nick is that Jesus is not the messiah because he was not yet baptized. So until Jesus was baptized, then he became the Christ. So he was Jesus an ordinary man then boom, he is baptized and now he is Jesus Christ. So you are clearly teaching that Jesus Christ is the messiah not Jesus. See that. Jesus was not the Christ. Then he is baptized and becomes the Christ, and so Jesus Christ is the Christ. So unlike Believers and prophets who are baptized and anointed. we are not the messiah. Only Jesus is the messiah with the baptism and anointing.

    Strike 3

And it was Nick who made it clear and I can see you two concurring. Jesus is but a man. He was anointed and thus became the Christ, so Jesus Christ is the Christ and Jesus is not. But again, scripture doesn’t line up with your teaching.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

So there you have it. Jesus is the man without the anointing thus is not the Christ and Jesus Christ has the anointing so is the Christ. This is what you teach. But scripture says your teaching is a bunch of lies. Why? Because Jesus is the Christ.

If I said to you that was Jesus the Christ in the City of David? Was Jesus the Christ when he was 18 years old? Was he the Christ when he was 25 years old? You say no, Jesus is not the Christ. But scripture condemns this confession in a multitude of way, two of which I have highlighted in red in this post.

Jesus was anointed by God, we have never denied that at any time here.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Do you believe this scripture? No.

Imagine how many other times I could ask you if Jesus was the messiah and you would say no.

Was he the messiah when he was 20 years old? No, according to you.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

T8…..So, you do deny that the three gospels, wich  clearly show Jesus was anointed at that time right? So it is you that is denying him being anointed with the holy spirit, you are denying that the Spirit of God decended and remained on him.

You also deny what Moses clearly said, that God would raise up a person from among the people a “prophet” like him. Your Jesus is not a prophet “like” him. And he did come into existence from the people of Isreal exactly like him.

1….you deny his anointing given in all three gosples., or,  have to say he had to be anointed twice,  but to save face,  you simply don’t address the three accounts of his anointing as shown plainly in scripture.

2….you deny he came forth from the actual people Isreal, by saying he preexisted.

3….you deny him being the root and offspring of of his father,  King David.

4….you deny him as comming into his “only” true existence as a, flesh” human being,  “exactly”  in every way as we are? You preach a preexisting Jesus, who was “morphed” into a human body.  A smoke and mirror trick of God on humanity, which demeans his human accomplishments, which shows us all what God can do in “humanity”.

5….you deny what the  Angel said concerning him Luke 1: 32 ,   And he “shall be” great, and “shall be” called the son of the Highest, and “shall be” given the throne of his father David: and “shall” reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there “shall be” no end. All this is given in a “future” tense.  which shows he had none of those things till they actually happened.

T8….you are of those who “deny” Jesus’ humanity. You preach a Doctrine of “SEPERATION “, YOU  do not really belive Jesus is and was one of us human beings at all, but a preexisting JESUS, WHICH NO SCRIPTURE SHOW ANY ACTIVITY OF ANYKIND Anywhere in our scriptural text.

Why not address those three Gosples that “clearly” show us all of his actuall anointing process  that took place in scriptures. You have yet to even commit on them, why is that T8?

T8…..Where have I ever said Jesus is the “only” anointed one?  YOUR PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH AGAIN bad for T8, . In fact if you don’t have the anointing spirit of God on you,  you simply are none of his.  Scripture shows many people were anointed by God in the old testement as well as the new.

T8…..Where have I ever said Jesus is the “only” anointed one?

That is a double fail gene.

Pay attention, listen, I never said or implied that. So your following accusation is BS right?

What I am saying is Jesus is not the only person who was baptized and received the Holy Spirit.

So why is he the only one who is Christ?

My point: there is more to being the Christ than being baptized and receiving the Holy Spirit.

    Do you agree?
