Kerwin…….I believe that scripture is said in a “POSSESSIVES” Sense. because we are all God's children in a Creative sense we all have our origin from Him. Kerwin also remember all scriptures must line with all the other scriptures that will produce the Truth of them, they must all conform on any given subject.God the Father said there are no other God , said he looked for one and found none. There is ONLY ONE BEING IN EXISTENCE, that it can be TRULY applied to, all others false Gods even if a person trusts in them, as example Money or some Idol , or some Leader, some magic, or Church, or Pope, or even Jesus for that matter.

The children of the one true god are gods just as the children of a human are human.
All it states is he “called” them gods, children of the most high, and if your read the first five books of the bible you will find that he did call the children of Israel the his children.
