being reliant to scriptures is one thing believing in them is another ,practice what it teaches is another ,now believing that the scriptures are true but with reserve ,this is not believing at all ,or practice some of the things and not the other mean also a divided faith ,

so I believe that God through Christ his son does accomplish what he had said centuries before ,and so the works he does are the works of God but that the son does ,and so the father is in the son accomplishing his will ,

Even to the point of wanting to change Scripture to match the view which you have been taught.
