But the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy rev 19.10
May 16, 2016 at 12:07 pm#814249NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Do you believe in the forgiveness of God?
Do you believe that those whose sins are as scarlet shall be as the whitest snow?
Do you believe that those that the Son sets free are free indeed?
Do you believe that the disciples could be made clean by the word spoken to them?
May 16, 2016 at 12:49 pm#814250kerwinParticipantNick,
I take them all literally except for that last one.
That because the Spirit was not given until after Jesus ascended to heaven.
Their cleanliness was that of Abraham who was credited with righteousness because of his faith.
May 16, 2016 at 1:17 pm#814251NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Jn 15.3
You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
May 16, 2016 at 1:22 pm#814252NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Eph 5.26
Tit 3.5
May 16, 2016 at 2:30 pm#814253ProclaimerParticipantHi t8,
Our leaven is the Spirit of God.
What is yours?
You preach love but that is as far as it goes.
You said: “You preach love but that is as far as it goes.”
That is not true Nick. I preach on many things as you would know. You are not being sincere with that statement. Your comment is a blatant fail, let’s be honest here.
Your other statement about your leaven being the Spirit of God is at odds with your statement about me which is obviously untrue. Anyone here could attest to that.
The Spirit of God doesn’t lie or even make inccorect statements if you think ‘lie’ is too strong word.
But if you mean that all that I preach is rooted in love, such as preaching against the Trinity Doctrine or the Ordinary Jesus Doctrine, then that would be a compliment and I would like to believe that to be true, but I leave that for God to judge as he knows my heart.
May 16, 2016 at 2:38 pm#814254NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
You preach love . You preach love.
but you mock
judge
and
condemn
those who see differently to you.
May 16, 2016 at 2:49 pm#814255ProclaimerParticipantSee that. Now you are saying I preach love among other things. That is a contradiction to your statement right there because you paid me the compliment of saying I preach only love. Now I supposedly preach othe things???
And what you call mock is really proving someone wrong. It feels like I am mocking perhaps because you feel foolish when I rebuke and expose your teaching and behaviour and there is nothing wrong with using a bit of humour from time to time to reinforce a point. Check your heart on that one. However, what we are not to do is mock God. Exposing false doctrine, false teachers, and foolish statements is fine. All things will come into the light to be seen for what it is and all will come under Christ.
He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing concealed that will not be known and illuminated. Pay attention, therefore, to how you listen. Whoever has will be given more, but whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him…
May 16, 2016 at 3:14 pm#814256NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Your teaching should mesh with your behaviours.
If you want anyone to listen that is.
Minimlse, justify, qualify your mockery all you want
but few of us have had any laughs.
tradition rules it seems.
May 17, 2016 at 4:14 am#814257GeneBalthropParticipantT8…..I RESPECT YOU PUTTING THIS SITE TOGETHER AND YOUR EFFORTS TO MAINTAIN IT. BUT I HAVE SEEN SOME OF THE THING NICK IS SAYING IN YOU ALSO BROTHER. I KNOW YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY FOR THE MOST PART, BUT YOU ARE WRONG IN SO MANY AREAS, not trying to belittle you brother, but my earnest hope and pryer is that you will come to see things more as we do. IF YOU WOULD TRY FASTING, MAYBE THE LORD WILL OPEN YOUR MIND TO THE TRUTH OF WHAT WE ARE TELLING YOU BROTHER.
peace and love and respect, to you and yours. …….gene

Thank you for your advice about threads going astray.
May 17, 2016 at 8:50 am#814260kerwinParticipantNick,
In understood you were referring to Jesus words to Peter in John 15:3. The old covenant would become preceded by the new covenant and so that particle element is different between his words in John and Paul’s in Ephesians 5:25-27 and Titus 3:4-6. Faith in God’s word is cleansing in both the old and new covenant so in either case the righteous life by faith.
The most a human could achieve outside the new covenant was to be credited with faith but more is promised to those that receive the Holy Spirit if the choose to keep that covenant. In the new covenant there is a ‘washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost’. (Titus 3:4-6) Only Jesus was chosen to be given that under the old. For that reason he is the Pioneer, aka Author, of our faith.
May 17, 2016 at 9:09 am#814261NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Faith in God’s word cleanses?
Please show this in the OT and the NT
May 17, 2016 at 9:38 am#814262NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
PARTICLE ELEMENT.
What theology is this of?
May 17, 2016 at 9:45 am#814263kerwinParticipantNick,
It is credited with cleansing.
The Spirit does the real thing.
Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteousness. (Genesis 15:6, Romans 4:3 & 22, and Galatians 3:6)
May 17, 2016 at 10:01 am#814264NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Righteousness is not cleansing.
The Spirit sanctifies those reborn of it.
May 17, 2016 at 10:04 am#814265kerwinParticipantNick,
I figured you would make that claim but what evidence to you have from Scripture?
May 17, 2016 at 10:04 am#814266NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
1 Peter 1.2
2 Thess 2.13
1 Cor 6.11
May 17, 2016 at 10:07 am#814267kerwinParticipantNick,
There are place where Scripture rephrases a though to make a point.
Psalm 18:20Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
20
The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.Job 17:9Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
9
The righteous also shall hold on his way,
and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. So either the two terms are linked or they are synonyms.
May 17, 2016 at 10:23 am#814268kerwinParticipantNick,
Sanctify may not mean cleansed in any of the verses you mentioned and certainly not in 1 Corinthians 6:11, as depending on the version, “washed” or “cleansed” does. Instead it means to be made holy. Of course holiness and righteousness are also linked.
