2 Corinthians 12:9
9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
he emptied himself
May 11, 2016 at 12:39 am#813998terrariccaParticipantHi N
but you are not Paul either am I, and Paul weakness was shown in his body, just has it was in Christ ,but the power of his death (of Christ) his the real power by God ,
so if we empty ourselves then we would only speak the truth without opinions as you do is it not ? YES

Jesus spoke those word to show the value and knowledge of God or awareness of God ;trying to use those word in a different screen would make you go off course
In denying God’s power you are holding to a God that does not exist except for image in your mind.
The passage you quoted from Roman’s 8 literally uses the words foreknew and predestined. Neither of those words has anything to do with free will. So yes, each of us chooses of our own free will whether or not to be one of the elect but God forknows our choice and predestines us to be in that group. Scripture is not broken but your doctrine is.

thanks for your opinion ,but i only work and believe scriptures so if you going to correct me do it with scriptures ,for I have plenty of my own opinions ,
so let me see your view in scriptures ,nothing else then we talk
May 11, 2016 at 7:30 am#814018kerwinParticipantTerrarica,
I am talking about a Scripture. You cannot get more Scripture. The very words it uses disagree with your doctrine. It is Romans 8 and you are one that quoted it to include the words I address and you find disagreeable.
Those words do not disagree with the idea the God has foreknowledge of the free choices of each person and predestines them to be saved while allowing to freely choose to be saved.
You have just embraced the false idea free choice is random choice and that idea is opposed to predestination and has trouble with foreknowledge.
Give up your false ideas.
May 11, 2016 at 8:29 am#814021NickHassanParticipantHi T,
You and I are not Paul.
So what advantage did Paul have over us?
May 11, 2016 at 9:16 am#814031NickHassanParticipantHi T,
Paul appears often in the book of Acts.
You deny his words there?
May 11, 2016 at 2:08 pm#814077terrariccaParticipantKerwin
you have to pin point what is it you talking about for quoting a chapter his quit big and vague ,
May 11, 2016 at 3:37 pm#814093NickHassanParticipantHi t,
Could God use you in the same way His Spirit used Paul?
May 12, 2016 at 6:30 am#814101Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
“And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:
it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.” (Acts 9:3-5)Was this “the Spirit of God” speaking to Saul through Jesus?
or
Was this “the Spirit of Christ” speaking directly to Saul?____________
God bless
Ed JMay 12, 2016 at 7:02 am#814102NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
It was Christ Jesus.
Now the lord is the Spirit.
May 12, 2016 at 8:32 am#814107Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
So “the Spirit of Christ” speaking directly to Saul then, correct?
____________
God bless
Ed JMay 12, 2016 at 8:37 am#814108NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Christ Jesus spoke to Saul.
May 12, 2016 at 8:40 am#814109NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Would you try to divide Christ Jesus?
May 12, 2016 at 9:09 am#814112Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
Is “the Spirit of Christ” not Christ’s Spirit?
____________
God bless
Ed JMay 12, 2016 at 5:40 pm#814122NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Jesus was born with a human spirit like all sons of Adam.
The Spirit of Anointing is not a human spirit but of the Spirit of God.
May 12, 2016 at 8:57 pm#814128Ed JParticipantIs “the Spirit of Christ” not Christ’s Spirit?
Hi Nick,
Please answer my question
____________
God bless
Ed JMay 12, 2016 at 9:12 pm#814129NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Do you men is the Spirit of Christ the spirit that Jesus was born and enlivened with ?
No.
Jesus was conceived as a man of body soul and spirit. 1thess 5.23
A body without a spirit is dead as James tells us. has 2.26
Is the Holy Spirit now the source of life for Jesus?
Yes
He died on Calvary and his human spirit left him and he is alive in the Spirit. 1 Peter 3.18
Just as Isaac, Jacob and Moses are alive in the Spirit.
Forget the magical mysticism that tradition offered you.
So the same life that God anointed him with is now able to be shared with us that we may be one with him and his Father forever.
May 12, 2016 at 9:26 pm#814130NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
In the same vein,
Is the Spirit of Christ not the Spirit of the disciples?
If you do not have the Spirit of Christ you are none of his.
