It is not quite so simple as the whole sentence has a mixture of tenses. Some would interpret it that a person is saved by faith, even without works, but James vehemently disagreed as he said faith without works is dead.

A man declares he loves his girlfriend but then abused her. Does he truly love her?

I am not sure what you mean by close. He is not spiritually close as the sins of men separate them from God. The rest sounds correct.

That is one of the verses I was thinking of but there is another one that states our sins separate us from him. It is Isaiah 59:2.

Satan cannot maniipulate them by guilt if they walk in the light

There is no reason to feel guilt if walk according to the ways of the Spirit. Worldly sorrow, unlike godly sorrow, is of the carnal nature of man.

actually God as given us more than live ,he has given us a way to everlasting live ;and the forgiveness of our sins ; if you do not believe the scriptures ,then do not blame God for it ,right ? yes
