Nick, there are literally thousands of scriptures that can be used to prove that the father is God.
–the 1000 scriptures that directly say so
–the 2000 that indirectly say so??
–the scriptures that speak of him being worshipped
    –etc

***NICK, what proof is there that the holy spirit is god?**

    David,

GOD IS A COMPLEX BEING NOT AN ABSOLUTE ONE ENTITY.

What kind of ALMIGHTY GOD would be without His Spirit.

The Spirit of God is the entire substance of God.

Can there be God without His Spirit.

    Hi david,
We are made in the image of God.
Surely our relationship with our spirit is the same as God' relationship with the Holy Spirit?

    No DIVISION possible

    Abe,

Jesus is not a man ,that he should tell lies, nor as the son of man, that he should be changed.

    Jesus is God in flesh'

Jesus is the express image of GOD.His fullness.

Jesus was the manifestation of GOD ALMIGHTY ON EARTH.

    Hi David,
You seem to want to make an artificial division between God and His Spirit.
Surely it should be plain to all that no such division occurs.
Is this a relic of your tridentine God origins?

Was it a “division” between God and His spirit whenever the bible writers mentioned his holy spirit?

Nick, is it just me, or did you used to not believe this about the holy spirit? I don't remember you ever believing that the holy spirit was God before.

Also, why are you incapable of discussing scripture like an adult, conversing back and forth? Do you know how frustrated you would be if others always did this with you?

I'm sorry Ed. Could you point out or explain where exactly in this scripture it says anything about the “holy spirit” being “God”?

Are you just randomly listing scriptures? Please explain the connection or why you posted this.

    Hi David,
It goes without saying that God is one with His Spirit.
So what point are you trying to make?

Nick, the point of this thread is for Ed to show that the holy spirit IS God, as the title suggests.

Being one with your finger does not make you your finger. It is a part “of” you. The holy spirit is the spirit “of” God.

Jesus disciples being “one” with Jesus did not make them Jesus.

God is one with his holy spirit just as you are one with your arm.

Again, the point of what I am saying is: there is abundant proof that the father is god, as scripture clearly says 1000 times directly. There are absolutely no scriptures that say this directly of the holy spirit. Nor are there any that even really imply it, once you consider all the verses about the holy spirit.

ED, maybe I am extremely confused about what this thread is about. I thought you were trying to show from scripture that the holy spirit IS God.

Does this verse do this somewhere? Please explain where. Thank you.

Ed, please stop randomly quoting random scriptures.

It just shows that there are none that actually support your claim. Why are you continually quoting scriptures that in no way support your claim?

Again, no mention here of the holy spirit being God, is there?

Ed, I finally understand the mistake you are making.

    It all makes sense now

You are supposed to be proving that the holy spirit is God

This scripture says god was in Christ.

It doesn't say that the holy spirit is God. But at least I finally think I understand the point you were trying to make.

By definition and common understanding of words, the spirit “of” God is not God himself.

Oh, how many times I have SCREAMED this at Ed and others here.  :)

Can you people not even understand the simple word “OF”?  ???

If Jesus is Son, Christ, Lamb, Servant, etc OF God, then he is not the God he is those things OF.

If God's Spirit is OF God, then it is not the God it is OF.

I really don't think they can mike.

It's a word we use so often. Yet in this one instance, somehow it doesn't mean what it usually means. How convenient.

    Hi Carmel.

A scripture says: “God is a spirit..”

But the bible also shows that he has the holy spirit which he uses to accomplish his will.

god being a spirit is different than the holy spirit he uses for his purpose.

Also, where are we told that the holy spirit is God?

    Hi nick.
Not sure why you keep mentioning division. If you could explain yourself in more than 6 words, that would be most helpful.

You may be able to be separated from your finger but God cannot be divided from his Spirit.
