Ed J, you have never satisfactorily answered this question.
If the Holy Spirit is the Word of God then why is the sword of the Spirit also the word of God?
The sword must confuse you because it must be pointless to you right?
and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

T8……what Jodi and I and it looks like even Edj, are telling you IS RIGHT, the word of God is God, and naturally it is with him
I’ve always said it here and it is still true, that if people understood the difference between an attribute and person, then they wouldn’t wander off into strange doctrines on what God is and what Jesus is.
Of cou…[Read more]

There are many reasons why there has to be a God. This is one of them.

To understand how the definite article can make a big difference to a piece of text, look at this example. Have a guess as to which one is correct.
a) In the beginning was THE woman
b) and THE woman was with THE man
c) and THE Woman was THE mana) In the beginning was THE woman

Truthcomber, I am open to the Word being God because I believe that everything came from God even the Word that was with God. God is the Father of spirits after all.
If you read the commentaries shortly after the Apostles on John 1:1, their understanding of what was written in the New Testament is the God was alone and the first to come from God…[Read more]

John 1:1 (Greek text) In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and God was the Word.
Me: This is the original Greek text. Click the link above. There is no article in “God was the Word.” It is not “THE God was the Word”. So is God not God?
God doesn’t have the definite article, Logos does.

Now dig deeper… like I did. The Greek word “duno” was used to translate the Hebrew word “bo” in the LXX. Go find out what “bo” means, and look at scriptures that have that word so you can see what it meant. Once you find out that it meant “to come” or “to go” – depending on the context… and was used exactly that way in a bunch of Hebrew scripture…

Not so Jodi. The word ‘God’ (theos) has no definite article in John 1:1c like the other instances of ‘theos’ in John 1:1a-b’. This is profound.
First off, if it did have the definite article, then it would mean that the Word was God to the exclusion of all others. So what does it mean?
Think of the time Jesus said “You are theos”. Was he telling…[Read more]

It’s clear from my above post which is a straight copy and paste from Biblehub that concordances explicitly state that the meaning is ‘SINK’. It is especially used in the context of heavenly bodies according to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon.
Couple that with the fact that from our perspective the sun goes down and you have two witnesses. A third witness…[Read more]

The cosmos was created by God through the Word of God.
The cosmos was created by God through the Son of God.
Which was the agent God created the cosmos through? Was it one or both. Or could it be that it was both but that both are one and the same. After all, he is called the Word of God and both Jesus Christ and the Word came in the flesh.

The Word was WITH God in the beginning. Your take on this word as meaning ‘promise’ I do not agree with. Of course God makes promises and he speaks these with words, but the Word that was with God is not a mere promise, but was WITH God and this Word is preceded by the definite article which in Greek is like capitalising a word when you name or…[Read more]

Talking about perspective, this website looks a certain way to you. But what if you were to see the nearly one million lines of code that make it work. The irony here Dig is is the sun doesn’t rise on a flat earth. It rises from our perspective and on a globe earth. And remember this is David speaking from his own perspective. You know this to be the case because God didn’t create a tent, that is a man made thing.
Further, the circuit is how it appears to us. The Bible makes no claim as to the…[Read more]
