how do you understand 1 Corinthians 10:4 ?

Terricca……i don’t have a problem with what you are saying about God putting block or rock there. What i am focusing on is a specifict scripture were were talking about, that it is the power of God the Father that is the ROCK THAT JESUS WILL USE TO BUILDTHE CHURCH BROTHER.

so it is always God that is the ultimate end of all things the son is the most important part of it

For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did.
Paul is using the Exodus and the covenant of Moses as a type in order to serve as an example of the new covenant.
After all it clearly states they were immersed in Moses and not Jesus Christ. Moses is the mediator of the old covenant while Jesus is the mediator of the new. The Spiritual food and drink they partook of was not the food of angels that resolved their hunger pangs nor the water that came from rocks that soothed their thirst but it was word of God that was spoken by God to them and then written by Moses so they could read and hear it. Like any other prophet of old Moses also had the Spirit of Christ(1 Peter 1:11) and it is that Spirit they had consumed by adhering to the Word of God.
Their means of consuming it is inferior as they consumed it through the written letter and not by having it written in their hearts and placed within them; which is reserved for those that enter the new covenant.
The Spirit of Christ does preexist the conception of Jesus Christ as it is also the Spirit of God.

I believe the rock is the word of God in that case though the Spirit of God imparts that word.
the rock cannot be the written word of God ;but the faith in it for that is the spirit of the written word of God through his son he sent

Faith in the written word works as well since without faith you cannot truly partake of the Word.

I believe I said that the Spiritual Rock is the word of God since that is what the children of Israel put their faith in but that word came from Moses as he was carried along by the Spirit of God, which is also known as the Spirit of Christ. Moses was anointed as the mediator of the old covenant.

Terricca…..The word christ means “christos”, which means the anointed of God, JESUS HIMSELF IS NOT THE ANOINTING THAT WAS ON HIM. That anointing was on Moses and the Seventy elders AND VARIOUS LEADERS of Israel in the wilderness also as well as the prophets to and kings like king SAUL AND DAVID, . That is why scripture says “GOD SPOKE” to us in times past through the prophets but has spoken to us in these latter days spoken to us through a son.
The words from GOD produced from the spirit of GOD or anointing of GOD, should not be tied to the person Jesus as comming from himself, but to what he had ON HIM. That is why Jesus could say “the words I am telling you are not”my”words, but the words of him who sent me, and also, I am in the Father and the Father is in me, and also how he could say I in you and you in me, and that is how we become one with them both, BY THAT SAME ANOINTING SPIRIT .
WE also can have it, and become one with JESUS AND GOD THE FATHER. ” Now if the spirit of him that was in JESUS dwell in you “it” shall also quciken your mortal (dead) body. ” we are in agreement with God the Father and Jesus because it is the “same” anointing spirit in us as in them. many are his sons but only one is his son for all things have been created through him and that is Jesus Christ “the WORD OF GOD “
Terricca……Makes no difference because God can speak through anyone he chooses to. But whoever he speaks through , that person who he speakes “his” words through is not the originator of those words himself, but is speaking those words that are not his, as Jesus plainly said, “the words i am speaking to you are “not” my words but the words of him who sent me.
Terricca some scriptures have been corrupted, GOD did not create the world “through” JESUS, BUT IF YOU CHOSE TO SEARCH THE WORD THROUGH USED THERE YOU WILL FIND IT IS SHOULD BE A DIFFERENT WORD LIKE FOR THE purpose of or for, another words for the completed purpose that is found in Jesus christ, that was the whole reason for GOD CREATING THIS WORLD AND EVERY THING IN IT, FOR THE PURPOSE THAT JESUS ACCOMPLISHED.
Remember in Isaiah GOD SAID HE “ALONE” by “HIMSELF” CREATED THE EARTH AND EVERYTHING IN IT. We shouldn’t deny the old testement to make the new fit. IMO

The Spirit of Christ was with the Israelites in the desert.
Water flowed from the rock when it was struck by Moses’s staff.
If anyone thirsts let him come to me and drink. My words are Spirit and life.

Don’t confuse and actual rock with a Spiritual rock or actual water with Spiritual water.
The children of Israel were given the written word of God in order to consume the Spiritual water and food but a better way exists for those under the new covenant.

The manifestation of the Holy Spirit at work in Peter is the trigger for Jesus to state what is the foundation of his Church.
Unless you have the Spirit of Christ you are none of his.

Yes Jesus built his church upon Peter who declared he was not only Christ but the son of the Living One, and in this is established the divinity of Christ as the Son by merit of resurrection. We know him as the divine Spirit,and no longer as flesh as St Paul also declared
You can claim a carnal foundation made of wood and straw or a spiritual foundation made of gold and precious gems.You may worship wood,straw and the carnal Christ if you wish but truth is you have never known a carnal Christ and you never will even as St Paul only knew that Spirit called Christ.
Your post makes no sense to me. What are you trying to say? That I believe in a carnal Christ?
I believe that Jesus is the messiah and son of God as Peter declared, thus if I truly believe that, then the Father has revealed this truth to me.
God made Jesus both Lord and Christ. He existed in the form of God, emptied himself, came in the flesh. died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is seated at the right-hand of God in the glory he had before the cosmos.
You will not be able to fault my belief using scripture, I know that much. You will need to resort to opinion of which I have no respect if it contradicts scripture.
Feel free to clarify your post however. As I said, it makes no sense to me, so you are free to give me a clue about your opinion.
Nick…..Your last post to Kerwin is apsolutely right. The “rock”, was the power of GOD TO GET INTO THE MIND OF PETER AND REAVEAL THE TRUTH ABOUT CHRIST JESUS TO HIM, AND THAT IS THE “ROCK” THAT JESUS WOULD USE TO BUILD THE CHURCH WITH.
IT IS AMAZING MANY CAN’T UNDERSTAND THAT SIMPLE TRUTH.

What unites the body of Christ is the Spirit of Christ.
NICK…..Nor do you have to add your personal concepts either. What i have posted is exactly as i understand the subject we are talking about. AND THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH BACKS IT UP EXACTLY AS I HAVE POSTED IT. IT not my fault or anyone elses that you are unable to percieve the truth in some topics we descuss.
