You presume the behaviours of Mankind were not affected by the contact of Adam and Eve with the serpent?
Jodi….could it be that as God the Father represents the only one that is Truly Good, that Satan also represents what is evil, and both good and evil are spritually spoken of in scripture as spirits (clean and unclean spirits, ect.) they both are able to effect creation at the same time.
Satan or the serpant may simply be a figurative representive of all evil, Just as our GOD IS A REPRESENTATIVE OF all good? Both are spirits so both can indwell all flesh even at the same time. Man by eating of the tree (that which brings forth from self) GOOD AND EVIL, have put both good and evil in him to experience them both, and GOD HAS ALLOWED IT SO MAN COULD BECOME MORE LIKE HIM , KNOWING GOOD “AND” EVIL.
