    JESUS–4 times:

    1. “Capernaum… brought down to hell [hades/unseen] (Matt. 11:23)
“Capernaum… thrust down to hell [hades/unseen] (Luke 10:15)

    2. “hell [hades/unseen] shall not prevail against…church” (Matt. 16:18)

    3. “And in hell [hades/unseen] he lifted up his eyes” (Luke 16:23–parable)

    4. “I [Jesus] … have the keys to hell [hades/unseen] (Rev. 1:18)

    DISCIPLES–4 times:

    5. “You will not leave My [Jesus’]soul in hell [hades/unseen](Acts 2:27)
“Christ…His soul was not left in hell [hades/unseen] (Verse 31)

    6. “Death and hell[hades/unseen] followed with him” (Rev. 6:8)

    7. “Death and hell [hades/unseen] delivered up the dead” (Rev. 20:13)
    “Death and hell
[hades/unseen] were cast into lake of fire” (Verse 14)

    8. “O grave [hades/unseen]where is thy victory” (I Cor. 15:55)

Nick Jesus didn’t speak in English. I’m pretty sure they know what He was saying in Greek. The translators should have translated it right.

    God bless

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell [ tartarus–abyss] , and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment” (II Pet 2:4).

    This one too.

In Matt. 5:21-26 Jesus lists four ways in which we can be judged: [1]the Judgment, [2] the Council, [3]Gehenna fire, and [4] Prison. But hereafter in verse 29 Jesus usesGehenna, and again in verse 30,Gehenna. And pay close attention for what sins this fire is used: “…if your right EYE offend you… if your right HAND offend you…” it must be removed, or the penalty is Gehenna fire. In Matt. 10:28 Jesus mentions again the judgment of Gehenna. In Matt. 18:9 He again uses Gehenna fire. In Matt. 23:33 Jesus warns the Pharisees of Gehenna judgment:

“Ye serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape the damnation [Gk: ‘a tribunal, justice, JUDGMENT’] of Gehenna?”

And so Gehenna fire is clearly seen as a way in which Jesus Judges sinners, and specifically, the sins of the eyes, hands, and feet. Gehenna fire IS JUDGMENT. What else is Gehenna?  God bless

    Hi Anthony,

Those who are in Christ do not come unto judgement.

They have already passed over from death to life. Jn 5.24.

The dead do.  They do not have the Spirit of life.

Let the dead bury the dead.

    Hi Anthony,

Jesus was born under the law and sent to those under the law.

Jn 5 21-29 is about the law and not spoken to his brothers but those under the law.

Wake up and check the context.

Nick: “Hi Dig4, You told us the sons of God are gods and when questioned about this claim never answered. Why is this?”

You will have to provide a quote from me on that, I don’t remember it.

The “Sons of God” are angels in Genesis 6.

Nick, now you know that’s not what I said. I said that you need to quote my post. That way I can see what context it is in. That is the proper way in which we debate topics. I cannot just rely on your memory of what I said.

    Hi Dig4,

    To help your memory.

    You said

‘God had a Son. when Eagles have eaglets they are what? Eagles. When a cat has kittens they are what? Cats.

When a Bear has Cubs they are what? Bears.

When God has a Son He is what?’

    Please clarify.

    Hi Dig4,

You suggested that I need to study two words

    ONLY and BEGOTTEN.

I have. In Greek they are one word MONOGENES.

So please enlighten us in view of the use of the word in Hebrews 11.17

Nick: “Hi Dig4, You told us the sons of God are gods and when questioned about this claim never answered. Why is this?”

So now that you have clarified your point can you see that is not what I said at all? I did not say “sons of God” but the only begotten Son of God. There’s a big difference! Clear enough?

And as a side note, this is exactly why I need a quote to respond because what you claimed I said was not true.

Now what part of this do you have a problem with?

    Hi Dig4,

So you clarification is that the Son of God is a god, like kittens are cats, and bear cubs are bears.

But this is because he is the  MONOGENES only begotten Son

and all the other sons of God are not gods?

    Sounds gnostic to me.

    Hi Dig4,

A bear cub is separate from both it’s parents. So also a kitten is like to it’s parents but different.

So you say the son of God is another god.

How many gods do you have?

For us there is ONE GOD.
