Ed. I have NO IDEA what your point is. It's quite unrelated to my question.

Is your spirit called david?June 24, 2010 at 5:17 am#199580davidParticipantEd, I share this with you simply because you like numbers:
DOES THE BIBLE TEACH OR SAY THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD?
How many times does the Bible “tell”us that Jehovah is God? Expressions we find in the Bible:
Jehovah your God–455 times
Jehovah the God of–204 times
Jehovah our God–105 times
Jehovah God–50 times
Jehovah their God–39 times
Jehovah my God–40 times
Jehovah his God–29 times
Jehovah the [true] God–8 times.
the [true] God Jehovah–4 times
Jehovah is a God–7 times
Jehovah a God–1 time
Jehovah is in truth God–1 time
Jehovah is God–1 time
Jehovah is my God–1 time
Jehovah is our God–1 timeAnd HOW MANY TIMES IS THE HOLY SPIRIT CALLED “GOD”?–0 times.

Is your finger called david?June 24, 2010 at 5:21 am#199583davidParticipantQuote Hi David,
Is your finger called david? No, it's not.
And nor is God's finger called “God.” It is something “God” possesses. Over and over it's spoken of as something God possesses and uses. God's finger is not “God.” God's finger is God's finger. God's holy spirit is not God. It is God's holy spirit.
We should not confuse this with a fact that God is also a spirit. (The word “spirit” is used in a number of ways.)

Luke 11:53-54 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees
began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: Laying wait

Hi Ed.I'm not sure what you mean by “truth.”
Nick said that: “The Holy Spirit is CALLED God.”
Did he randomly pick scriptures out of the Bible? NONE of them have the holy spirit being called “God.” Your “truth” is not based on scripture.
Hi David,“The Truth” = “Kingdom of God”
Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not,
neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.June 24, 2010 at 5:26 am#199588davidParticipantQuote Hi David, Do you ask questions to learn or merely to accuse?
That sounded like an accusation. Can we please stick to the topic. I would very much like to discuss what scripture DOES and DOESN'T say.

Can you show us any single instance where this is so? I cannot find any such occurences. This is still my first question: “Does the Bible say that the “holy spirit” is “God”?”
The answer I believe is “no” or at the most, that it does not directly or clearly do so, unlike “Jehovah” who is called “God” numerous times.

Hi David,The “HolySpirit” is JEHOVAH; not some third person the traditions of men say! (Col.2:22)
Psalm 139:5-12 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither
shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up
into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I
take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I
say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light
about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night
shineth as “the day”=63: the darkness and the light are both
alike to thee (YHVH=63).God bless

I don't know. What do THE SCRIPTURES ACTUALLY SAY?
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Edit))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))Hi David,

it for himself. Do not passively allow others to mold your thinking.'

Did you read through the entire thread? No, but I have been paying very close attention to our conversation.
I began by asking if the holy spirit is ever called “God” in scripture. Despite being told that such scriptures exist, I have yet to see one.
You then made the assertion: “The Bible teaches: There['s] No forgiveness for rejecting The HolySpirit as GOD…“
But again, the Bible does NOT say that anywhere.
You then for some reason incorrectly stated that “him” and “it” are the same word in Greek, and then made a couple comments about my “organisation.”
I then repeated my question, and you then asked: If someone is rejecting God, do you believe there is forgiveness for that?
I then asked what the scriptures said, and you then quoted a watchtower article to me, and I'm still not sure why.
Then, you said this: Do you ask questions to learn or merely to accuse? and quoted a scripture apparently comparing me to pharisees.
I asked that we stick to the topic, and you then said: “then stick to the topic,” and you stated what it was.
I then asked if you could comment on the subject.
You then quoted Psalm 139:5-12, but you did not explain how that scripture in any way shows that God's holy spirit is God. You highlighted this: “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?”
Perhaps you could explain how this scripture helps your claims. Perhaps you could explain it.
June 24, 2010 at 6:31 am#199601davidParticipantI'm also curious about what Nick asked early on, and about what he also commented on a page back.
Is your finger, you?
Is God's spirit, God?If you don't have answers, perhaps you have some questions?

'If you know what the bible really teaches about God, you will avoid being misled'…Yes, it's harder to mislead someone who wants to keep sticking to what the Bible actually DOES SAY, or DOESN'T SAY, isn't it?
Question: Why do you keep quoting this?June 24, 2010 at 6:36 am#199603NickHassanParticipantHi David,
Do you think your intellect can understand the Spirit?[1Cor2]
The watchtower cannot give you that Spirit.June 24, 2010 at 6:44 am#199605davidParticipantQuote Yes; it really is quite simple isn't it: “HolySpirit” is GOD! –Ed
Question: If holy spirit is God, then why is it so often used possesively?
(More than a hundred times the holy spirit is referred to as “the spirit of Jehovah,” “God’s spirit,” “my spirit” etc. All such possessive uses of the holy spirit further argue that it is an instrumentality rather than a separate and distinct person.—Judg. 3:10; Matt. 3:16; Acts 2:18; Phil. 1:19; Ps 51:11; Joel 2:28,29)
If Holy Spirit = God,
then when the Bible speaks of “God's holy spirit” is it speaking of God's “God”? (ex: Eph 4:30)How do you understand such scriptures that speak of God's holy spirit? If you take holy spirit to be God, then do you understand those scriptures to be speaking of God's God?
