Hi brother Nick,
Thanks for your response again. Infact I was discussing about death here not hell which will be cast out in fire as per Rev 20:14“Then Death and Hades were thrown into the pool of fire”.
You say “Man minus his spirit returns to the dust of earth”.
But I understand man minus his spirit is only body no soul because soul is the resultant of body and spirit. You also say “Body vanishes in the dust but Sheol\Hades\Death\bosom of Abraham\Mansions of Christ holds the soul”.
But I don't see any scripture directly agrees with this view of believing souls will be held in Jesus mansions.
Thanks

Can you prove you understandings or are they just opinions?Jn14 shows the blessed fate of those waiting in the mansions of Christ.
Maybe also
1 Corinthians 2:9
but just as it is written,” THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”August 15, 2008 at 7:14 pm#101584NickHassanParticipantHi,
Ecclesiastes 9:5
For the living know they will die; but the dead do not know anything, nor have they any longer a reward, for their memory is forgotten.Does this include Abraham and the men of old?
No
Matthew 22:32
' I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”John 8:56
” Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”August 15, 2008 at 10:11 pm#101595Adam PastorParticipantWOW Nick!
You have really excelled yourself this time.
So now you believe that Abraham and the men of old, are not dead!!
Unbelievable!!August 15, 2008 at 10:13 pm#101596Adam PastorParticipantSeeing that you believe this; I now understand why you hold on to some of your other “beliefs”
Because if that is how you interpret scripture, you'll believe anything!!
August 15, 2008 at 10:16 pm#101597NickHassanParticipantHi AP,
Are you not among the living?
Mark 12:27
He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.August 15, 2008 at 10:20 pm#101598NickHassanParticipantHi AP,
Are you dead?
Romans 6:8
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:Will you ever truly die?
John 11:26
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?August 15, 2008 at 10:25 pm#101601Adam PastorParticipantAbsolutely Brillant. LOL Nick, you have really, really excelled yourself.
Just when I thought I had heard everything from you, Nick, you then come out withQuote Does this include Abraham and the men of old? No
Thanks Nick. You have brought such a smile on my face.
I now have a better understanding of how you interpret scripture.
Unbelievable.
Thanks again Nick.August 15, 2008 at 11:06 pm#101605NickHassanParticipantHi AP,
I am sorry to hear your view differs from both God and Jesus.Matthew 22:32
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.Did you not know the son brought living waters?
John 4:10
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. He would have you come and drink unto life.
Jn7
37In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Living water is not taken from us.
Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.August 15, 2008 at 11:17 pm#101607NickHassanParticipantHi AP,
The only real death we need to undergo is in repentance unto baptism, and baptism in the Spirit unto eternal life.
Thence we daily put to death self and sin in the flesh and seek to be led by the Spirit. Some sleep and some never physically die.
Rom6
1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
August 15, 2008 at 11:33 pm#101611NickHassanParticipantHi,
Eternal life in the Spirit begins now.14Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
August 16, 2008 at 5:15 pm#101664GeneBalthropParticipantNick…..the one who has power over death is not a being external of us, as the text makes it appear, but is the Carnal Flesh that is in us all and was in Jesus also and Jesus destroyed it through the power of GOD in Him. Man dies because of his own sins , and that sin has the power of death in him, not that of some other creator called the devil. When Jesus said be of good cheer for i have over came, he was talking about his human nature not some devil external of him. It says that through (DEATH) he might destory him that had power of death, the DEATH He was speaking about was His WILL which He put to Death, because Our Wills will bring death to us and must be put to death in order for us to live. He who will save His life will lose it and he who will lose his life will save it, this is exactly what Jesus did he let go of (HIS) life and in so doing he saved it. IMO

What philosophy do you follow?August 16, 2008 at 11:46 pm#101705GeneBalthropParticipantNick………..the Philosophy that Jesus Followed. The scriptures i quoted prove that point so what Philosophy do you follow them. You remind me of the Pharisees who constantly were look for something to accuse Jesus off ,even saying he was making Himself equal with God the Father which was nothing but a lie, Jesus was never trying to makes Himself equal with Father . In fact He gave God (ALL) the Glory for what he was doing. In fact you and others are trying to make Jesus equal with the Father also, something Jesus never did. Everything Jesus had he attributed to the Father not from Himself. Saying the son of (MAN) can do nothing of (HIMSELF) why don't you accept that then.
August 17, 2008 at 1:43 am#101708NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
Jesus was no worldly philosopher.
Neither should we be.August 17, 2008 at 3:17 pm#101876GeneBalthropParticipantNick….Jesus philosophized more then you think he did. He used His GOD given mind and reasoned with it also. Even when he was a child, he reasoned with the leaders of the temple it says. You attach worldly to everything you disagree with in order to dismiss it as useless, its you way of putting someone down, which i find quite annoying, Nick, you use those sayings to try get the advantage over what someone says, i don't think that is healthy in any post some one writes, we are all including you just expressing our opinions right. So why not just take it as that and not try to put a person down. imo
