    Mike,

I believe you violate these verses when you say there are other gods “by design”:

    Deuteronomy 4:35
“To you it was shown that you might know that the LORD, He is God; there is no other besides Him.

    Deuteronomy 32:39
‘See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I…[Read more]

    Mike,

Jehovah, God Almighty is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, both the Father and the Son. When the Almighty God is seen by men, it is the Son, our Lord of lords (Jehovah our Righteousness.) No man has seen the Father.

Genesis 35:5As they journeyed, there was a great terror upon the cities which were around them, and they did not pursue…[Read more]

    Hi Mike,

    you said:

I assume they are included in Psalm 8:5, Psalm 82:1, etc. Why, do you think only certain spirit sons of God are gods, while others are not? Surely you don’t think that Satan, Ashtoreth, Chemosh, and Milcom – who are all called gods by Jehovah (each of the last three He calls “elohim”) – are really gods, but faithful servants…

    Hi Mike,

    you said:

Yes, that’s right… except that not all of them fell. Many of them like Michael and Gabriel remain faithful to their Creator.

I do not recall Michael or Gabriel being referred to as a god. What scripture specifically tell us that?

    you said:

Born, begotten, made, brought into existence, created, etc.  They all require the exis…

    Hi Gene,

Good questions. You asked me to address this:

Lu….If God were to speak through you, would that make you a God? God said this, “God is “not” a man, that he should lie, nor a “son of man” that he should repent. Jesus on the other hand said he was a “son of man” over 50 times.

No, God speaking through us would not make me or anyone a God. O…[Read more]

    Hi Nick,

Perhaps you have one definition of the word “person” and I have another. I understand God as a person because He describes Himself as having a mind, will, and emotions, and the ability to create. He also speaks in a first person manner and uses personal pronouns when referring to Himself. Maybe your definition is more specific to…[Read more]

Nick you seem to accept that there is one God the Father and one Lord, Jesus Christ and you seem to understand them to be two persons, not one. The OT tells us that Jehovah is both God and Lord…that is two persons, one God and one Lord. The one God is not God apart from the one Lord and the one Lord is not Lord apart from the one God. The two…[Read more]

    Hi Nick,

I understand 2 Cor 5:19 as Jehovah, God of gods (the Father) was reconciling us to Himself through the work of Jehovah, Lord of lords, His Son, who emptied Himself and took on flesh, became man, completed His mission which He was sent to do, fulfilling the prophecies concerning the Messiah so that we could be reconciled to Him.

    I…[Read more]

    Hi Nick,

Jehovah our Righteousness, the Lord of lords did enter into His creation and become a man. It is truly amazing to think about how much He and His Father care for us. You deny this and miss out on so much, Nick. Ask Jehovah to show you if Jesus is Jehovah our Righteousness, the Lord of lords or not. Ask with an open heart and let the Spirit speak.

    Hi Nick,

    You said:

”In order to be born one must exist beforehand”

Yes most people exist for up to nine months before their birth.

What deep spiritual understanding have you come to by making this statement?

Good question. Realizing that the word “firstborn” does not at all mean “first created” helps JW’s to see that they cannot use the ver…[Read more]

    Hi Gene,

Thanks for the peace and love! Jesus is active as the Word of the LORD before his birth on the earth.

    God bless!

    Hi Mike,

Yes, that we do agree on the fact that Jesus wasn’t the firstborn calf. I don’t have any problem with Jesus being the firstborn and only born god/God. As I have stated many times, in order to be born, one must exist beforehand. The Son of God existed before He was born of God the Father. All those other gods you write about were created…[Read more]

    Hi Nick,

Of course we look to the Spirit to teach us. I agree with you. That is exactly what I did when I wanted to know what Col. 1:15 meant.

I asked the LORD that question in the middle of December 1992 after being challenged by some JW’s who came knocking at my door and asked me about that phrase “firstborn of all creation.” I was determined…[Read more]

Mike, Mike, Mike…you are so not done here. We need to go through Col. 1:15 some more! The firstborn of every creature would be the first born offspring of each creature. In other words,  the first baby calf born to the mommy and daddy cows, the first baby child born to the mommy and daddy humans, the first baby colt born to the…[Read more]

    Hello Nick,
Life is great. Thanks for asking. I’m a grandmother of two now and have 2 out of 5 kids married. I’m enjoying this time in life very much. How are you doing? Are you still singing in the quartet and growing grapes? How is Paul and his family doing?

Well hello all ya’ll, nice to see some familiar people from the past days when we spent hours and hours digging into God’s Word here! Glad that this thread is getting some recent action and showing up in my email. Those days were intense at times and also very enlightening and sometimes even very disappointing. I love what I learned from all that…[Read more]
