Doesn't that tell you something? Are you maybe reading the scriptures with a bias that you…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic Worship God the Father only? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 15 years, 7 months ago
Irene and Pierre,The angels were told to worship the Son…right? And we are told by Jesus, Himself, to: John 5:23 so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.to honor means: to estimate, fix the valuefor the value of something belonging to one's selfto honour,…[Read more]

Quote (mikeboll64 @ Oct. 17 2010,22:14)Really Kathi?
I don't think they were used to worshipping the ONLY TRUE GOD through his Son. To them, it had always been only YHVH, and Paul was introducing them to YHVH's Son, whom we must go through to be saved. That's what I THINK, anyway.
Why, do you know of any instance where Paul indicated we sh…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic Worship God the Father only? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 15 years, 7 months ago
Mike,This sorta sounds like you:Acts 18:12-1312 And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,13 Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.KJV
What do you think Paul was teaching that made them make that conclusion?Lightenup replied to the topic Does god procreate? in the forum View Points 15 years, 7 months ago
Hi Pierre,Thanks for sharing your favorite Psalm. I like this part:Ps 73:23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Ps 73:24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Ps 73:25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. Ps 73:26 My…[Read more]

Pierre,Those are good questions. For starters: we believe IN both of them, we follow both of themwe recognize them both as Lord over uswe recognize them as our creatorwe surrender our lives to themwe forgive others and love others and care for others to honor themwe trust them both, etc.Remember that we have 'seen' the Father in a sense because…[Read more]

Hi Mike,Do you know of any scriptures that tell us to honor someone other than Christ, 'just as' we honor the Father?

Yes Keith, I do enjoy corporate worship. I especially like being outdoors at our city's Riverbend Festival on Faith Night when there are tons of people from all the different area churches singing praises on a pleasant summer evening along the riverfront downtown with some famous Christian artist leading us.Enjoy your revival

Have a great time Keith! You speak in the future tense as if God does not inhabit you now? Does He come and go?

Thanks Mike for that one-sided dialogue with John MacArthur
I understand your thinking on that. Here's a link to a view which opposes 'eternally begotten' and favors 'incarnationally begotten:' http://www.letgodbetrue.com/sermons/pdf/sonship-of-christ.pdfI am finding all these views interesting.- Load More
