Here is another of those verses in the OT that has a plural translated as a singular:Ecclesiates 12:1 Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, “I have no delight in them”;Here, the word 'Creator' is actually a plural word in the original Hebrew.A couple of…[Read more]

Mike,Quote 2 Chronicles 28:16 NIVAt that time King Ahaz sent to the king of Assyria for help. This word 'king' is translated as 'kings' in many versions. The commentaries have different ideas about this. One says that 'kings' means the king and his son. (Gill) Another says 'kings' means princes, who may be called kings in a more general…[Read more]

Mike,Everyone I go to church with appears to openly worship the Father as God and the Son as God and they believe they are two distinct persons.  As I understand it, trinitarians believe in the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are a compound unity as one God, yet each person is 100% God by nature.

Mike,I have been saying that all along since I started focusing on Deut 10:17. I'm glad you are catching up though :)

Mike,As I understand it, every trinitarian thinks that each of the three 'persons' is 100% God and form one unity as God. They also believe in a compound unity. The early church father's did too. It is just symantics. They will say that each are equally God in nature yet they are not three Gods but one God.Gen 18 and 19 does not clarify any…[Read more]

Quote (mikeboll64 @ Sep. 11 2011,12:58)Yes Kathi,Just like “elohim” is plural.  It is commonly referred to as a “plural of majesty”.  The Hebrews didn't have a capital letter to distinguish between, say, “Lord” and “lord”.  The way they did it was to pluralize a word that we today would simply capitalize.  Instead of “God”, they would say “go…[Read more]
