We are conversing about the heavens of 2 Enoch.  God's throne is in the highest.

    K

my point is what is the Enoch you are talking about ???

    T,

The same Enoch that Scripture states walked with God and was not. There are three books that are said to be written by him or record his words. 1 Enoch is the most commonly used but 2 Enoch has at least some parallels with Scripture as well.

WITH ALL DO RESPECT to the scriptures ;why would the books of enoch show up now ???

and why is he the only one that states and went to heaven ,

    Abraham was called God's friend and yet did not receive such a privilege ;

and the reason of his dead according to scriptures is to not see a violent dead ,for he walk with God ,just like Abel did ,but Abel was not spared from violence ,

if I stick to the scriptures to what it says from Enoch what is it that I learn ???

GE 5:19 Then Jared lived eight hundred years after he became the father of Enoch, and he had other sons and daughters.
GE 5:21 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah.
GE 5:22 Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters.
GE 5:23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.
GE 5:24 Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

HEB 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.

JUDE 1:14 It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “ Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones,

it seems to me that the practice of being taken up means TAKING YOUR EARTHLY LIVE AWAY

JUST AS ELIE WAS TAKEN AWAY AND NEVER SEEN AGAIN

IT IS MY BELIEVE THAT THE RIGHTEOUS ONES ARE NOT GOING WERE THE UNRIGHTEOUS GO WHEN THEY DIE ;JUST AS IT SAYS IN THE PARABLE OF” LAZARUS AND THE RICH MAN ”

MOST PEOPLE TODAY STILL BELIEVE WHEN SOMEONE DIES IT IS BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP

WHAT WOULD BE THE REASON FOR GOD TO DO THAT ??? WHY DID NOT GOD CHOSE TO PROTECT HIM IN STEAD AND LET HIM LIVE HIS LIVE OUT ???

WHAT DOES IT MEAN “BY FAITH ENOCH WAS TAKEN UP ” ???

WHO ARE THE MEN OF WHOM ENOCH PROPHESIED ???

Jude 1:4 For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

Jude 1:5 Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
Jude 1:6 And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.
Jude 1:7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
Jude 1:8 In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.

AS WE KNOW SUCH A MEN ARE STILL AROUND US WHO BELIEVES INTO THE SON OF GOD ,

To all……..Jesus was and is still Flesh and Bone, he will return that same way he left, with that same body, that did not see corruption, in the grave, he will drink wine with the disciples in the kingdom he sets up with the Saints of the Most High God.

Peace and love to you all……………..gene

    Still clad in corruptible flesh?
So you say you KNOW what he will be like?

    T,

I personally use the books of Enoch and other like Jewish manuscripts for the context of the society in which the books of the NT were written. They are not Scripture so the doctrine in them may or may not be in tune with Scripture.

I disagree with you as Scripture never said Enoch died. In fact it says he never saw death.

I know someone has convinced you that means he did not see death when he died but in Luke 2:6 it is written that a certain man would not see death until he saw the Lord's Christ and it clearly meant he would not dies until he saw Jesus. In John 8:51 it is used to mean those who keep Jesus' words will never die the second death.

    Nick,

Gene did not use the adjective corruptible, you did. You are adding to his words just as you add to what is written in Scripture.

It means he was no longer on earth as a human being. God took him to heaven, like He did with Elijah.

So then Jesus wanted to go left, but the Spirit BLEW him to the right, like a hurricane? :)

Nick, I'm quite sure you know exactly the point I'm making to Kerwin. I'm also sure that you agree with me that being “led by the Spirit” is a matter of one's SOUL, SPIRIT, MIND, and HEART being intelligently and emotionally led along the right path.

I doubt very much that you think being “led by the Spirit” means the Spirit takes control of your very body, and forces your body to go where he wants you to go.

Your comments are useless for this particular discussion.

    Mike

this is what Paul says about Enoch,Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

if God did not take his life then why would God do this ;;For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. ???

It's not really important what those words mean in OTHER SCRIPTURES, Pierre. It's important what they mean in Genesis 5:24, in the context of, “he was no more BECAUSE God took him”.

WHERE did God take him? Do you suppose God just decided to KILL His faithful servant Enoch at such a young (relatively speaking) age?

No, God TOOK HIM to heaven.

    Hi MB,
Yes if you are a control freak
being led by the Spirit will be anxiety provoking.

But the yoke is easy and the burden light
