I believe that we were created in the likeness (image) of God. This does not refer to whether we are good or bad, just that we were created in His likeness. God said Gen 1:26 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness…. So who is Us?
We are created in the likeness of “Us” which is a three part being. We are not exactly like God (obviously) but we are made in three parts. Body, soul and spirit, just as God is the Almighty, Word, and Spirit.

What Bible have you got Nick? There are so many mentions of all three that I would hate to count them.
I have quoted some of these Scriptures recently, but you seem to only see what you want to see and disregard anything that you don't agree with. Ask God with an open mind and be taught by Him.

I have numerous questions, but I think this is the most obvious:
Where is the holy spirit called “God”?

The Holy Spirit is more than the will of God. Read the following verses.Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you.
Joh 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. For He shall not speak of Himself, but whatever He hears, He shall speak. And He will announce to you things to come.
Joh 16:14 He will glorify Me, for He will receive of Mine and will announce it to you.So the Holy Spirit is called He by Jesus. Also the Holy Spirit hears, speaks and glorifies Jesus
There are many further examples of the Holy Spirit being a “person” or identity rather than an “it”, but I'm sure these show that adequately.

The Spirit of Christ reveals the scriptures and shows the glory of the son of God.
But that Spirit which proceeds from God [jn15] and in which we can know God[1cor2] is one with God in His son.June 19, 2010 at 9:28 pm#198471NickHassanParticipantHi Oxy,

Yes Nick, the Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Son, but is not the Father or the Son.In the same way the Son is one with the Father, but is not the Father and the Father is one with the Son, but is not the Son.

The Spirit of God is as the finger of God.[Lk11]
It is the Spirit of the Father[Mt10.20] and not divided from Him.June 19, 2010 at 9:48 pm#198479NickHassanParticipantHi,
We should first know the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father.[Mt10.20/Mt13.11]

Once you know that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of our heavenly God that is to be the unifying foundation of the new creation things become clearer.

nicki will now make a change to your comment;; Once you know that the Holy spirit is the WILL of our heavenly God that is to be the unifying foundation of the new creation things become clearer.
Then the unusual ways of expressing the nature and abilities of the one WILL in Jn14-17 can be learned from.wen Christ came he had and received the action(power) part of the will of God (holy spirit)he then went on to do the WILL of his father ,that is what he said and did.and told over and over again.

Who said anything about division Nick? God is ONE.It's hard for mere man to get his head around the makeup of God and perhaps I'm foolish for even trying, but based on Scripture I have studied I have the following understanding.
Man is known by that which proceeds from his mouth.
In God's case the very Word of God proceeds from His mouth and goes to perform that which He spoke. This is the same Word of God who visited and spoke to people on at least 100 occasions in the Old Testament.
The Spirit is the very breath of God which sustains life and makes God known to us. He also, like the Word is an identity in Himself according to the Scripture.
So we see that the Word of God proceeded from God's mouth. This is the Word that became flesh.
The Spirit of God proceeded from His nostrils and is the Same Holy Spirit that Jesus said He would send from the Father and who would hear from the Father and make known those things to us.
Good luck with that. I don't expect a lot of understanding lol.
June 20, 2010 at 1:27 am#198549NickHassanParticipantHi Oxy,
God is one and not made up of three.
The breath of God gave men life but not eternal life.
That is gained by coming to share in His eternal and Holy Spirit.June 20, 2010 at 1:45 am#198550Ed JParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ June 20 2010,08:28) Hi Oxy,

Hi Nick,Excellent point!
Since Oxy claims to talk to God (in essence) on a regular basis
I requested Oxy ask him in my behalf what he thought of me. (Jer.23:37)
But for some strange reason Oxy will not explain to me why he refuses my request?God bless

Nick, we have been down this road many times before. Tell me, do you have the following:Do you have a body?
Do you have a soul?
Do you have a spirit?June 20, 2010 at 2:01 am#198561NickHassanParticipantHi Oxy,
Using logic you would somehow make God in our image?
