Hi Gene.
You are correct, Nick is changing scripture to express his belief. He should read the last chapter in Revelation, changing scripture will result in his chastising. Be carefull Nick.January 15, 2009 at 8:33 pm#117727chosenoneParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Jan. 13 2009,05:26) GB,
Indeed you should believe scripture.
Paul is not greater than his Lord and brings no new teaching as he is led by the Spirit of Christ. So any misconception you have received by reading of this verse should be examined in the light of Jesus's words.
NH.
Wrong AGAIN!!! You say “Indeed you should believe scripture” as well as “Paul has no new teachings”.Col.1:25 …25 of which I (Paul) became a dispenser, in accord with the administration of God, which is granted to me for you, to complete the word of God —
26 the secret which has been concealed from the eons and from the generations, yet now was made manifest to His saints,
Paul, through the revelation of God, Completed the “word of God.”
Also “the secret” revealed at present, that had not been revealed before. As one who repeatedly chastises others to “believe the scriptures”, I find numerous scripture you fail to understand.
Your knowledge of scripture is severely lacking.January 15, 2009 at 8:55 pm#117733NickHassanParticipantCO,
Do you have to read Paul to partake of this new gospel or is it automatic for all who are born?January 16, 2009 at 12:38 am#117811chosenoneParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Jan. 16 2009,07:55) CO,

1Jn5
9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

John, the beloved disciple, is dead. How then could he insist so strongly that he had “everlasting” life, and that all who are not believing this have made God a liar? It is evident that he did not have what we would understand by “everlasting” life or he would still be living. The rendering “eonian” avoids this difficulty. This life does not commence until the resurrection and lasts until death is no longer in action, at the consummation at the close of the eonian times. It will be, in effect, without end, but it would be foolish to predicate life when there is no death.Blessings.

Did you not know that John is yet among the living in the eyes of God?
He will be with Jacob and Isaac and the rest of the living at the wedding table.
He has come to the fountain and shared the abiding faithful Spirit of Life.
We do need to look beyond evanescent natural life and grasp this life offered now.
Otherwise death really is death with the possible prospect of the second death.January 16, 2009 at 6:34 pm#117906chosenoneParticipantNH.

So you imagine the final situation and nothing else matters?
All a big divine ruse?Smoke and mirrors.

I just believe scripture, try it sometimes. Believe what He (Jesus) teaches, you seem to think only that which suits your “one eternal gospel for all” heresy, is all that matters.January 18, 2009 at 11:28 pm#118215NickHassanParticipantCO,
The teachings of Jesus are not for you.
But you say you believe them?January 19, 2009 at 3:40 am#118228GeneBalthropParticipantNick………is that a Godly thing to say to a brother. Co, does believe them , the problem here is your not really believing (exactly) what Jesus said, For the (12) Apostles to do. Go not the way of Samaria but go unto the lost Sheep of the House of Israel. Thats all Co is saying they were sent to the circumcision, while Paul was sent to the Gentiles. Did not Paul say God would Judge mens Hearts according to (HIS) Gospel. Pauls teachings did not gor against Jesus' but they carry more of the message, GOD wanted Preached. If that were not the case them why have Paul in the bible at all, if what you say is all the same thing. It would be redundant them there would be no need for Paul because the 12 apostles would have been peaching the gospel to the gentiles , but no it was Paul who did. Because it was not their commissioned to them to preach it to the gentiles.
peace and love……………….gene

Same gospel of the kingdom.
Different servants appointed to the task.
Yet Christ was working through them in his body.” It is no longer I that liveth but Christ that liveth in me”
