Did John see the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove?

Or did he just see a video?

God chose his own words-“the logos” to become flesh and dwell for a short time upon earth and be a vicarious sacrifice for himself and mankind.He chose his own spirit being to become flesh and called it his son.Thus it is him and the being called Jesus Christ.

So Jesus saw this after his baptism but you would deny it?

The sign of the Spirit descending and remaining on Jesus was to show John that Jesus is “he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost” and from that information John concluded was the Son of God, which is to say the Christ. I do not see a reason to add to it. Do you?

Jesus saw his immersion in water and he saw the Spirit descending on him in the form of a dove. Do you want to add additional words to that?

Kerwin…..JESUS recieved the spirit at the Jordan river, no matter how you try to make it, that is why he is called the MESSIAH or, the ANNOINTED of GOD. John did not see the spirt remain on him till it actually happened right? I believe NICK IS RIGHT in this KERWIN.

Scripture does not say whether or not it was a sign to Jesus. All it says Jesus saw the Spirit descending as a dove.

In acts 10 Peter spoke of the anointing of Jesus of Nazareth AFTER the baptism which John proclaimed.

But you say he had been anointed with the Spirit from an earlier time.

And you said he had shown the fruits of the Spirit.

Those fruits are specified in Gal 5

Which ones did he show?

 

You have your own theories which defy scripture it seems.

37 that word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judæa, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

That is a better case that the God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel and do do miracles.

What is your case that Jesus walked by the flesh and not by the Spirit before the Spirit landed on him in the form of dove?

I am not questioning your belief that the Spirit descended and lighted on Jesus in the form of the dove. I am questioning the mission you believe it was performing at that time.

Jesus knew and understood the Scriptures and walked in that light.
