    Hi MB,
Several scriptures tied together with inference does not make much clear.

    Hi ED,
So Peter was only speaking to the JEWS in acts 2 about water baptism and it is not really important but just sort of a confession thing?
Peter should not have baptised Cornelius you think?

ROMANS 10 was not preaching entry to the kingdom-read Rom 1 and you will see that as with all the letters it was written to the SAINTS

    Hi Nick,

As Peter said can anyone forbid water baptism?  …certainly not me.  :)

    Hi Kerwin,

I don't get what you are saying here……….

I was thinking the same thing when I read Kerwin's response, Ed.  :)

    Mike,

Replace limit with taken and perhaps it more understandable.

    Hi ED,
So you would not advise it as you feel it is not necessary but just an option?

    1) You seem to limit your conclusion both further and not as far as Scripture declares as the apostles also received the gifts of the Holy ghost in a like manner and of the Gentiles only Cornelius and his household are said to receive the gift like the apostles.

Basically you are inadvertently adding to Scripture as you only have evidence that the house of Cornelius out of all the gentiles received the Holy Ghost as they did. To conclude all gentiles receive the Holy Spirit in the same way based on one event is flawed reasoning. You take away from Scripture by giving the impression that no Jew receives the Spirit as Cornelius and his house did when it is clears the Jewish believers that were gathered on the day of Pentecost did indeed receive the gifts the same way.

    Nick,

“Several scriptures tied together” is what makes up the Bible itself. :)

I understood your latest post to Ed just fine, but sometimes I think you get in a hurry because of limited time or whatever, and you end up stringing several sentences together, like I'm doing right now, until you end up making a hard to understand statement like Paul sometimes did. :)

At least you're in good company with Paul, huh? :)

    hi MB,
    No. Scriptures support each other.
They say the SAME thing if God would have us grasp it.

if they say different things you are just making a patchwork quilt

    Hi Nick,

I have turned to God at the age of twelve and was baptized with
God's HolySpirit at the age of around 15. But because people
like you and 2Besee believing water baptism is necessary,

I have tried twice to get Churches in my area to water baptize me
because I concern myself with other people's concerns. One Church
wouldn't do it unless I put myself under their yoke, and the other wouldn't do it unless I believed as they do.

It wasn't necessary for me to be water baptized to receive God's HolySpirit, nor was it necessary for others in the bible.
So what do you suggest I do so that YOU will be happy for me and accept me as your Christian brother?

    God bless

    Hi Kerwin,

As I have said previously, I have NOT referenced Acts 17, it is you
that is referencing it. What I referenced was Acts 11:1-17, so
if you want to discuss that I would be glad to. But Acts 17
    is irrelevant to our discussion.

    1) I have concluded no such thing, why do you and Wakeup always try to put your words
into others mouths and say that they said what YOU instead say?

    2) I don't do that either.

    God bless

    Hi ED,
    Seek an answer from God.

I spoke with a couple about this some years ago and they did not agree it was necessary.

The husband had to leave on a trip and his wife privately prayed that he would come back if God wanted them water baptised.
A half hour later he drove back to the house and said he felt he had to come back but had no idea why.

    Hi Nick,

Well then since you believe it is necessary, then please pray for me
that God will provide a Church in my area to water baptize me, OK?

    Hi ED,
It is tragic that the false church is so widespread and disparate and their leaders are just wanting to control their followers.
The true church is small but God can make a way for you.

    Hi ED,
It is important that you are baptised in the name of Jesus Christ and not a trinity.
Best to go to someone who has been so baptised I would have thought

I don't condemn anyone that wants to get baptised in water.
So let us know how it goes and don't string anyone along.
