Jesus merely a man, God, a god, an Angel, Son of God, what does the bible teach?

    Hi GB,

You seem to speak in the same way about your own ideas as Jesus did of the teachings God gave him

    Why is this?

Do offer deception and that does not bring blessings.

Nick…..What makes you think they are my own ideas? How do you know they are not FROM THE spirit of GOD,something GOD THEFATHER HAS REAVEALED TO ME? Are we to think your opinions are GOD’S and not YOURS. You keep trying to position “yourself” as a judge of what is spritual or not or what alines with scriptures or not, even as you take liberty to post scriptures that have nothing to do with subject matter or as i showed you change the scriptures to meet you false dogmas. You dance all around but produce nothibg that supports your conclusions IMO

HERE IS A SCRIPTURE FOR YOU TO CONSIDER ” get you behind me Satan, you precieve not tnething of GOD.” ,YOUR ACCUSITORY SPIRIT resists the things of GOD AND does not “edify” the body of Christ. IMO

peace and love to you and yours. …………….gene

    Hi GB,

We know they are not from the Spirit of God because they do not resonate with what is written.

    You should know this too.

    Gene,

In my experience you are often in self denial and so refuse to believe evidence that contradicts your own conclusions.

There is nowhere in Scripture where it is written the spirit is intellect and yet you insist it is.

Nick also does the same thing at times as do the vast majority of human beings.

To often it seems that the Spirit reveals but the flesh does not want to see or hear.

Funny you have never pointed this out.

    Nick,

I assume you mean that you also deny Scriptural truths that contradict your own conclusions.

I may not have mentioned it.

    Hi KW,

Please show what these accusations are based on.

What does the bible teach? Was Jesus
    (1)God, (2)a god, (3)an Angel, (4)merely a man, or (5)the Son of God?

    Hi Everyone,

    1) God
    2) a god
    3) an Angel
    4) merely a man
    5) the Son of God

On the seven lessons thread (it seems) that attempting to claim #2 is really claiming #3 ‘an Angel’
And I don’t see how one can claim more than one of these at the same time.
I believe the bible teaches #5 and #5 alone.

    Ed J

Hi boys and girls… amember me? 🙂 I hope everyone is doing well.

Ed is correct that claiming #2 is also claiming #3 – as well as #5. Both the Hebrew and Greek words we translate in English as “angel” literally mean “messenger”. When the “messenger” in question is thought by the English translator to be a SPIRIT messenger, we use the English word “angel”. So any spirit messenger of God is therefore an angel of God. Jesus is no longer flesh, but has been transformed into a spirit being with a glorious new body. Yet he is still a messenger of God, as Rev 1:1 makes clear. And if Jesus is a spirit messenger of God, he is, by definition, an angel of God.

And spirit entities are commonly referred to as “gods” in the scriptures. So one must forget what their 21st century culture and mindset tells them about “gods” – and place themselves in Biblical times. For example, speaking of mankind in Psalm 8:5, King David told God He made us a little lower than the gods. Ie: YHWH made mankind a little lower than His spirit sons… which brings us to #5.

All angels are powerful spirit entities, and therefore gods. But all angels are also sons of God. You cannot be an angel without also being a god – in the Biblical mindset. And you cannot be an angel without being a son of the Most High God, Jehovah.

So Jesus is an angel of God in that he is a spirit messenger of God. Jesus is a god in that he is a powerful spirit entity – in fact the second most powerful being in existence. Plus he is called as much in Is 9:6 and Heb 1:8, etc. And Jesus is a son of God in that all angels are sons of God, and in that God is indeed his Father.

    Hi MB,

Rev 1.1 says that Jesus sent his message BY an angel.

Heb 1-3 makes plain he is not an angel.

    But you know better?

    Hi MB,

All angels are sons of God ?

Some are called that but are all?

Those cast from heaven are sons of God?

The sons of God are LED BY the Spirit of God.[rom8]

    Hi MB,

Jesus was made both Lord and Christ.

His life now is that of the Holy Spirit in him.

    Hi GB,

In Hebrews God has made plain the differences between Jesus and the angels.

You would like to blur the lines a bit?

    Mike,

    Hello.

Jesus is no longer flesh, but has been transformed into a spirit being with a glorious new body.

That is what Gnostics claim but it is not written in Scripture. Gnostics use Scriptures that can be interpreted to support it in an attempt to legitimize their claim.

Scripture teaches us that Jesus rose in a flesh and bone body and later ascended to heaven but there is no record of that body changing to spirit.

The only reason we know Jesus was flesh and bone after he was resurrected is that he made a special effort to prove he was not a spirit.

The Gnostics find the idea that he is not a spirit to be abhorrent as they believe the physical creation is flawed.

    Nick,

We have previously discussed a number of points where your view disagrees with Scripture.

    Hi MB,

Jesus was a man made great by the anointing and grace of God.

Yes I remember you from another eon. Hope all is good and it is good to hear from you again. I pray and hope you are in good standing in God.

So we are back to this topic. I mostly agree with you regarding gods and angels as they have wider meanings than most realise.

This is where it is for me.

Yes Jesus is ‘angel’ in the sense of being a messenger.

Yes he is ‘theos’ as the word is applied to others legitimately too.

But this is the distinction I make.

I don’t believe that either word is suppose to be used to classify a man or Jesus Christ as a god being or angel being.

e.g., we never read that Jesus the angel or Jesus the god did this or a god who was a judge over Israel did that.

But we do read about Michael the Archangel and about the Father who is the one true God.

So for me, these words are used to describe character or office rather than the class of being in the case of Jesus, angels, or judges.

So just as Jesus said Judas was devil, it was not meant to be taken to mean that he is a devil class of being. We know for a fact that Judas was still a man.

So we have Michael as an actual angel, judges spoken of as theos, and perhaps Jesus as theos too. But as to their being, they are angelic spirits, men, etc.

You really do not see angels or people being called gods as in Michael a god, the God Gabriel, Peter the god or a god called Paul.

This is the problem I have with ‘a god’. I don’t have a problem with god or the God.

If we say that Jesus is a god then we can probably claim to be gods and I you can address me as god instead of Mr or Sir.

I hope you can see my point. But if you cannot, I won’t hold it against you.

    Welcome back (hopefully).

Nick…..I KNOW JESUS IS NO ANGEL BEING OF ANY KIND, HOW AM I BLURING THE LINE A BIT?, BECAUSE IF HE WERE AN ANGEL, THE WORLD TO COME COULD NOT BE SUBJECTED TO HIM, JUST AS HEBREWS 2:5 SAYS.

Heb. 2:5…..”For unto the ANGELS he has not put in subjection the world to come where of we speak”

I am not the one saying the “THE SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD ARE ANGELS HERE , THAT IS YOU, SO WHO IS “BLURING” THINGS HERE, not me.

peace and love to you and yours. ………………gene

Mike……JESUS IS A SON OF MAN, ALWAYS WAS AND STILL IS. HE HAS ATTAINED TO THE DESTINY GOD THE FATHER HAS IN MIND FOR ALL HUMANITY . HEB 2:6-9 ….TELLS US ABOUT MANKIND AND GODS PLAN FOR US. IT IS THE SAME AS JESUS’ IS. IMO

peace and love to you and yours. ……………gene
