Hi MB,
By your logic and to your satisfaction.
t8 has always had the theory that Jesus prexisted as an angel of the Lord.

July 24, 2015 at 12:00 am#801322GeneBalthropParticipantMike…..That is your rendition of what scfipture is saying, using many many “IF” to make your case. But why do you fail to explain other scriptures, like where, HEBREWS SAYS “GOD HAS NOT PUT IN SUBJECTION THE WORLD TO COME UNTO ANGELS”. MAKING A CONCLUSION TO THE EXCLUSION OF OTHER COUNTRIDICTING SCRIPTURES IS NOT GOOD FORM. IMO.

THE ACCUSITORY SPIRIT IN YOU NEVER ceases even if you have to lie about what ihave said. IMO

July 24, 2015 at 12:16 am#801325GeneBalthropParticipantKerwin……Nerly all of HEB 2:6-11 is speaking of mankind in a “general” sense, and JESUS ALSO FROM A HUMAN BEING STAND POINT. BOTH MANKIND AND JESUS ARE SAID TO BE CREATED A “LITTLE” LOWER THEN THE ANGELS THERE. But crowned with glory and honor, and “ALL” THINGS ARE PUT UNDER THE FOOT OF MANKIND IN A GENERAL SENSE. HOW CAN YOU DRAW ANYTHING OTHER CONCLUSIONS OUT OF THAT TEXT?
peace and love to you and yours. …………….gene
July 24, 2015 at 5:30 am#801326kerwinParticipantGene,
Mankind is created a little lower than the angels which tells you the angels themselves are not subject to him. All God’s works were put under his feet except the angels or he would not be a little lower than them. Angels are clearly the only exception since it was the earth that was placed under Adam’s feet. (Genesis 2)

So Jesus was less than the messengers and then was made greater than them.heb1-3
But you still say he is one of them?
July 24, 2015 at 7:28 am#801329NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
Which verse in the YLT specifically calls Jesus a MESSENGER and which other verses confirm it?
Or is this something you see by INFERENCE and it is your OPINION?
Is INFERENCE and OPINION enough now?
July 24, 2015 at 10:13 am#801331Ed JParticipantHi MikeBoll64, (how are you doing)
1. God didn’t put the world to come in subjugation to the Angels in Heb.2:5, but then
HE DID put the world to come in subjugation to Michael the Archangel (*in Heb.2:8* – NOT ! ).2. God says there are no gods in Isiah 44:8, but he also says THAT THERE ARE (*but exactly where* ???).
Point #2 saying “that there are” can only be claimed by trying to back translate the English word god back into “EL-o-heem”.
Isaiah 44:8 says that only God is God – so when God says that there are no other gods but Him, I believe him.
You saying “that there are” based on your understanding of Scripture does not change Point #1.God did NOT put the world to come in subjugation to the Angels,
…………….so for me anyways,
that DISQUALIFIES Jesus from (at anytime) being an Angel.Q. When God says “ye shall be as the Angels” …to you – does that mean we become Angels or gods ?

Hebrews 2:5 Young’s Literal Translation
For not to messengers did He subject the coming world, concerning which we speak…Now what does it mean? Does it mean men have never been messengers of God?

Yes, Jesus was made a little lower than the other messengers for a while. God has now exalted him to the highest place, making him greater than the other messengers.

Do you doubt that Jesus was a messenger of God, Nick? If yes, then I will produce the scripture you ask for. If not, your question is moot.

I’m blessed and doing well, Ed. How about yourself?
1. God didn’t put the world to come in subjugation to the Angels in Heb.2:5, but then
HE DID put the world to come in subjugation to Michael the Archangel (*in Heb.2:8* – NOT ! ).Try the word “messengers”, and see what you come up with.
2. God says there are no gods in Isiah 44:8, but he also says THAT THERE ARE (*but exactly where* ???).
Point #2 saying “that there are” can only be claimed by trying to back translate the English word god back into “EL-o-heem”.
YHWH Himself calls Ashtoreth, Chemosh, and Molech “EL-o-heem” in 1 Kings 11:33, Ed. Of course that is just one of many places in scripture where spirit entities are called “elohim”.
God did NOT put the world to come in subjugation to the Angels,
…………….so for me anyways,
that DISQUALIFIES Jesus from (at anytime) being an Angel. Why haven’t even one of you tried to actually address my points in post #801298? You are all arguing against me from personal reasons, and not from scripture. Everything in that post I learned from scripture. Can you guys scripturally refute those things?
Q. When God says “ye shall be as the Angels” …to you – does that mean we become Angels or gods ?
Angel is an English word that refers to spirit messengers. Spirit messengers are gods, according to scripture. So when Jesus says some of us will becomes as the messengers, he is meaning some of us will become spirit beings – as opposed to the flesh beings we now are. So in our society, a spirit being is an “angel”, and not a “god”. But in Biblical terminology, a spirit being is a “god”. So the answer to your question depends on whether I answer it according to current culture or Biblical culture. Which would you prefer?

Please send me the link. I have been going gangbusters on the evolution/creation debate. I have been reading, ordering videos, listening to a podcast called “Real Science Radio”, and doing all kinds of research on the web. It is so wonderful how current science technologies and discoveries are pointing increasingly away from ToE, and directly towards the intelligent designer that we both know as Jehovah.

Hi Mike,
Do you believe (as the JW’s) that some of us
will be resurrected into a body like Jesus,
and others will remain spirit creatures?July 26, 2015 at 10:09 am#801358terrariccaParticipantEdj
Q. When God says “ye shall be as the Angels” …to you – does that mean we become Angels or gods ?
if you follow the rest of your scripture you will understand in which way we would be like angels ONLY ACCORDING TO SEX MARRIAGE REPRODUCTION ,nothing else right ? yes
Mt 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Mk 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.where is it said by God those words could not find that scripture help me will you ?
