That is why Jesus said they are one.
That is how they come to those that believe.
It is the unity of faith and Spirit.

And the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father and the Son

I do not agree with this view. Jesus wants to include us too, and your view seems obviously wrong when we are included. There is nothing in scripture that hints that we…[Read more]

The Catholic Church is still around though it has received a mortal wound while the Ottoman is dead and in its body a true mixture of iron and clay rule.

Emphasis mine. As for the possibility of the Ottoman Empire being described in these terms, that is not hard if you understand the word ‘mortal wound’. But judging from your statement I have…[Read more]

The Ottoman Empire did claim the power of the Eastern Roman Empire and the Catholic Church assumed what they could of the power of the Western Roman Empire.

After conquests in the Balkans by Murad I between 1362 and 1389, the Ottoman sultanate was transformed into a transcontinental empire and claimant to the caliphate. The Ottomans ended the…[Read more]

kerwin, for many of the same reasons you give for the Vatican being the next head, they could also apply to the Ottoman Empire.

For me, I think both views have merit. I reserve my decision to decide on one particular view and remain open minded to them and other views too.

    Dear T8,

Just remember that “the spirit” is the easy answer to everything under the sun and everything not under the sun and Nick may well be the only one currently alive on our planet that has it. 🙂

Thanks for the reminder. I keep forgetting.

Should we comfort the lost or pull them from the fire?
Surely hearing the Spirit in the words of scripture is the most basic requirement of a teacher?

So let me get this straight. I believe that he (Jesus) existed in the form of God, emptied himself, came in the flesh, was born into this world as the son of the living God and the Christ, did the…[Read more]

BTW, if there was a Youtube video of so-called Christians burning a non-Trinitarian at the stake back when the Vatican was very powerful, then yes, I wouldn’t hesitate to post that video for the same reason. We judge a tree by its fruit. Wisdom is known by her children.

Christians and Jews used to do that as well.

Kerwin, if you understood the words of our Lord, you would know that Christians or true followers of Christ would not do that. If they did, they would need to repent. Murderers, those who bear false witness, and the hateful do not inherit the Kingdom of God. This goes for any person regardless of what…[Read more]

This thread assume that Islam is one united group when in truth it, just like Christianity, is a kingdom divided against itself. ISIL is just as much a threat against Muslims as it is against anyone else. I doubt even its members hold to one doctrine, though many of them are violent humans.

I am not sure why you make this point.

God is love. So it is that those who are born of him, love others.

    Love is kind.

    Hi t8,

Yes the Christ was born at Bethlehem.

But he was not yet anointed.

Good Nick. You now teach that he was born the Christ as scripture tells us.

Before you were saying that he was not the Christ at that stage of his life.

    🙂
