Hi T8,
How do you refute this verse, Roman 9:5?
5 of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen.
ESV: 5 To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.
In this verse, Paul clearly…

You are entitled to believe that it was purely coincidental that the gigantic altar of Zeus was in Pergamon and that God told Jesus who told the angel who told John that those who dwell in Pergamon is where Satan’s throne is located. I think that Zeus was part of the legends of old. false gods and mighty men who were the Nephilim. Satan is the f…[Read more]

If you are referring to religious history, then it is still history and history is a teacher too. e.g., if a particular doctrine like the Trinity is created and enforced by a group that has killed and persecuted those who do not adhere to their doctrine, then history shows us the bad fruit and helps us judge the root. It is not the only teacher…[Read more]

It certainly is NOT saying that Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

The bible is a historical book among other things. History is not bad, It teaches us if we have ears to hear. History has the word ‘story’ in it. We learn by observing the failures and successes of others. We know a good tree and a bad tree by its fruit. History attests to the fruit that has been produced over the centuries and millennia.

Not sure what you are saying in your last post. Is it in context with the discussion or just a general point that needs no reply?

Daniel 4:17
“This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones; to the intent that the living may know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”Daniel 5:21

Allegory or not, that area of the world was the capital for four empires and two significant ones, the Roman Empire (Byzantine) and the Ottoman Empire (Islamic). If it is an allegory, then it is coincidental. But God knows all things, so choosing to say that about that part of the world was likely intentional and for a purpose.

Good post Jael.
There is no third member. There is God who can inhabit all creation by his spirit. This God has a son who is the firstborn of all creation.
While we cannot compare God to a created thing, a close parallel to understand God in relation to his spirit is the sun and its rays. The sun exists in a certain location in the galaxy. We…[Read more]

Yes, some say they believe in God but they hold not to the truth. They do not hold the truth because they love not the truth. Anyone who doesn’t love truth cannot love God and cannot love Jesus who said he is the truth.
