Quote (Nick Hassan @ Aug. 31 2008,19:05)Hi LU, No you quoted the nicene creed as if it was sacrosanct. It is flawed IMONick,What part of it is flawed in your opinion. Maybe it can be understood as the Son of God actually having a beginning as I pointed out. It doesn't mention anything about three in one, co-eternal,or co-equal.LU
Lightenup replied to the topic John 1:1 in the forum Scriptural Teachings 18 years ago
That is correct Nick. The Holy Spirit is the inner Spirit of the Father given to His Son and from His Son to all believers. Not a seperate being.Did I have you worried?LU

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Aug. 31 2008,18:41)HI LU, DO you agree with the catholic creed that The Spirit of God is worshipped apart from the Father? Is this written?Hi Nick,I believe that the Holy Spirit proceeds forth from the Father and the Son. Not as a begotten being though.LU

Quote (Not3in1 @ Aug. 30 2008,14:51)Kathi,I think you have brought the most unique argument to the board since I have started here. I used to think there was nothing new under the sun here, as I've heard the same arguments over and over again. But your theory of John 1:1 and the Son of God is very unique and I've never heard it before. …[Read more]

Joh 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

Hello Oxy,I have a understanding that the Son of God's beginning was announced by the very first spoken “word” of God as it is recorded “in the beginning”. The Son of God is the “Light of Life” and through Him all things came into being on earth and in heaven. The first recorded “word” in the beginning is “Let there be Light. I believe that…[Read more]

Hi all,I found this interesting this week. In this passage Jesus is definitely not one of us. He is the vine, not a branch like we can be. We aren't the vine, Christ is. Christ is not the vinedresser, His Father is. Here we see the Father, the Son, and believers. All seperate and not the same. Jesus is not making himself equal to man. J…[Read more]

Hi DK,Very good question. I would like to add that Jesus is God as the begotten God, and I agree, He is not the God that gave Him the revelation. That one is the Most High God. They are not equal, not co-eternal, the Son had a beginning before there was anything in heaven or on earth.Keep up the good work DK,LU

Hi t8,Amen for your insights, thank you so much!!!You are right in saying that the Son of God is not the “Most High God” and wouldn't want anyone to even believe that. That would take a unique glory away from His Father who is greater than Himself. Also, the Son of God is referred to as “King of kings and Lord of lords” however, that is where it…[Read more]

BTW, in regards to the above post, the Greek word written as “hn” in John 1:1 is transliterated as “en” and is translated as “was”. I know that might be confusing.
