BD……..The soul is a term for the complete being. A mans complete being, is a body with the breath of life in it, spirits can come and go into him, spirits supply their intellects to the souls, to both the Lord our God and man and angels, Spirits come in different kinds and types, they can be clean or unclean, spirits impute to our minded their cognisity, or intellects, and give us their cognate awareness. They can effect our very being favorably or unfavorably. The soul always means the complete being, not just part of him. IMO

BD…….The soul is the identity, you have it right. The identity of the complete being, Not just part of him that separates at death and keeps on living in another place of existence, as some here involved in mystery pegan concepts believe.

Jesus cast out many unclean or evil spirits that caused illness and injury and spoke through their victims.
Where did he even mention clean spirits and their intellects?
Or is this just your own stuff?

BD……..You have it right, the SOUL IS A BODY WITH THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN IT. IF GOD WERE TO RETRACT HIS SPIRIT FROM US WE WOULD NO LONGER BE A LIVING SOUL, WE WOULD DIE. The soul is the complete you, not just part of a person as many here believe. There are many scriptures that back that up. Some think a person is, a spirit + SOUL + A BODY, BUT SCRIPURES SHOW A LIVING SOUL IS, A BODY + WITH THE BREATH OF LIFE which is spirit IN IT, NOTHING MORE AND NOTHING LESS. The word SOUL IMPLIES THE COMPLETE BEING, NOT JUST PART OF A BEING. IMO

Yes the spirit we are loaned belongs to God.
If it is withdrawn and the body rotted we would just be a soul.

But we are not speaking of the transient life relevant to a body but that which gives eternal life to a soul.
Faith without works still exists but is not living.
Nick……Your own conclusions are yours, but scripture say , GOD TOOK DUST AND MADE A MAN AND BREATHED INTO HIS NOSTRILS THE BREATH OF LIFE AND “THE MAN” BECAME A “LIVING SOUL”. SIMPLE AS THAT, A COMPLETE MAN WHO LIVES “IS” A “LIVING SOUL”. WHY CAN’T YOU SEE THAT, IT IS THE LIVING BODY THAT IS THE LIVING SOUL What part of that you don’t understand?

Why should his “FLESH” REST IN HOPE? IF HIS FLESH WAS NOT PART OF HIS LIVING SOUL.?

Nick…….i do not know of any scripture that says a man is a “living soul” without the flesh included. I do believe our spirit part of our existence goes back to GOD WHEN WE DIE. BUT AT THAT TIME OUR SOUL NO LONGER EXISTS. WITHOUT OUR BODIES NO ACTIVE THROUGHTS ARE TAKING PLACE, AS SCRIPTURE SAY “WHEN A MAN DIES HIS THOUGHTS PARISH. SCRIPTURES ALSO DESCRIBES THE “WHOLE” HOUSE OF ISRAEL WILL HAVE A PHYSICAL RESUTRECTION. PAUL SAID THAT WE WAITING FOR THE RESURECTION, WHICH WILL WITTINESS THE REDEMPTION OF OUR “BODIES” AND AGAIN ” KNOW YOU NOT THAT YOUR “BODY” IS THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD. AND REMEBER WHEN GOD THE FATHER SPOKE THROUGH JESSUS’ MOUTH AND SAID “DESTORY THIS TEMPLE AND IN THREE DAYS I (GOD) SHALL RAISE IT UP”.
NICK, I STILL MAINTAIN THE SOUL IS THE “COMPLETE BEING” NOT JUST PART OF HIM. THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR ANY PHYSICAL RESURECTION IF THAT WERE NOT THE CASE.

I consider you irrational on this is which means that reasoning with you on it serves no purpose until your reason reasserts itself on this topic. Despite this, I am still driven to try.
This is speaking of two different things:
1) leaving a person’s soul in Hell, which tells us the soul is existing in Hell at that time.
2) The person seeing corruption, which Peter interprets as the corruption of the body.You claim the soul no longer exists after death so according to your doctrine it cannot be left anywhere, much less in Hell. In this way and others your teaching disagrees with Scripture.

Only the human spirit of Jesus left him at calvary.
He was alive in the living Spirit of God.
After 3 days the flesh will rot [jn 11.39] but he was raised before that happened.
BD……THE SOUL OF EVERY “LIVING THING IS THE SOUL, IT IS THE COMPLETE THING, NOT JUST PART OD IT, AND SPIRIT IS ADDED INTO THAT SOUL AS IT AGES and DEVELOPS. THE SOUL IS ABLE TO ABSORD SPIRIT BOTH CLEAN AND UBClEAN SPIRIT. WHEN A “LIVING SOUL IS BORN IT KNOWS NOTHING, IT ONLY HAS THE ABILITY TO ABSORD AND AQUIRE KNOWLEDGE AS IT GROWS AND EXISTS. A CHILD IS A “LIVING SOUL” ITS BRAIN IS ABLE TO ABSORB INTELLECTS AS IT AGES. THE SOUL IS NOT SEPERATE FROM THE BODY AS MANY FALSELY ASSUME, THE SPIRIT CAN BE SEPERATE FROM OUR SOULS AND DOES AT OUR DEATH. JESUS TOLD GOD HE COMMITED HIS SPIRIT TO HIM ,HE DID NOT SAY HE COMMITED HIS SOUL TO GOD, BECAUSE HIS BODY AND THE BREATH OF LIFE DIED, AND WENT TO THE GRAVE, WHERE THERE IS NO LIFE, HE WAS TRULY DEAD, UNTILL HE WAS RESURECTED FROM THE GRAVE BY GOD AND HIS SPIRIT WAS RETURNED BACK INTO HIS RESURECTED BODY WITH THE BREATH OF LIFE IN IT, THEN AGAIN BECAME A “LIVING SOUL” AND ONLY THEN DID HE BECOME HE A LIVING SOUL AGAIN.
IT IS APSOLUTE CRCIAL WE ATAIN UNTO THE RESURECTION OF OUR BODIES, IN ORDER TO BECOME A LIVING SOUL AGAIN, WE CAN NOT EXIST AGAIN AS A “LIVING SOUL ” WITHOUT A BODY WITH THE BREATH OF LIFE IN IT. IMO
