The bottomless pit, transliterated word, Abussos also used as deep in the above scritpture, represented where the dead go, or from where the dead rise.

The OLD MAN shall not deceive the nations any more.
Romans 16: 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Those of the second resurrection are raised corruptible and can suffer the second death. Those in the second resurrection still have the Old MAN to contend with, they are adversaries unto themselves and they go out as adversaries to try and deceive the nations.
Luke 12: 29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
Acts 14: 16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
The WAR will be between men who follow God and men who follow their own ways, men still in the conversations with the Old Man. They are not in conversation with a supernatural evil entity, they are IN CONVERSATIONS with their deceitful lusts, that tell them to follow their flesh.

Satan is the same as the OLD MAN and the OLD MAN has in mind the things of men, whose god is their belly, who’s god is his own mind that serves it to acquire earthly treasures.

Let’s recall that God says idolatry has no powers, to not fear because they cannot walk, talk, do evil nor any good. They are LIES. So to try and say this sorcery that the merchants possess is some sort of true sorcery coming from an evil supernatural source is pure imagination and speaks completely against scriptural fact. The merchants deceived the nations through deceptive tricks and lies, to acquire their mammon as they serve their bellies.
As it was MEN deceiving the nations by the Old Man before the beginning of the thousand years, so it will be after the thousand years.

Did Jesus not show that Sheol has two parts, one the bosom of Abraham and the other a place of torment.? Lk 16

The pit is the place from which men are resurrected to face judgement.
Reference to the bottomless pit only occurs in Rev 9.
It probably means the same thing.

Jodi…..Why is the nature of a beasts and creatures like lions, snakes, are chaned also, how does that fit you belifs , seening they are not humans? Is it not evil itself that is removed from the earth? And reintroduced a thousand years later, and goes out to decieve the whole world as scripture says, and brings them up to war against Jesus and the saints, and fire comes down out of heaven from God and destory”s them all.
You seem to deny there existed evil “spirits” demonic forces that existed even before man was ever created on this earth . Do you believe unclean spirits can be removed from a human? as the legion of demon’s who were sent into the plgs when the possessed man who was cleansed by Jesus. They even spoke to Jesus when they knew they were going to be removed. Do you believe the scriptures that say demon spirits even exist?
Now when an unclean spirit leaves a man, it goes about in (ARID) places seeking rest and when it finds non it says i will go back into the house i cam from and when it returns it finds the house clean, and takes seven more worse then itself, and the last state of that (MAN) was worse the the first.
You seem to deny evil spirits can be in a man and those spirits are not the man himself, but sim9ly are in him effecting his thinking, even as the holy spirit of God can cleans us and effect our thinking.

This is a directive to each individual to walk in the Spirit and in no way suggests that an OLD MAN is a composite being.

Jodi….GOOD AND EVIL OR “FUNCTION OR DISFUNCTIONAL” AS YOU SAY, ALWAYS EXISTED FROM ETERNITY AND ALWAYS WILL I BELIEVE. UNDERSTANDING THEM GIVES US WISDOM, making us more like GOD, just like it says, “man has become like us in knowing (experiencing) good and evil”. Good explanes what is evil and evil explanes what is good. They are needful and are a guide in letting us know what kind of life we are living.
Now because both exist and are in the garden of God, then both effect all of creation from the very beginning of eternity and most likely will for ever. Only GOD CAN REMOVE EVIL OR GOOD. IF HE REMOVES one from the earth then only the other will exist, as in the case of the thousand year reign of Jesus and the saints, when he removes evil for a thousand years, and the whole world breaks out in peace, and all nature’s of everything changes, even the beasts in the earth, evil is cast into a bottomless pit, because there is no end of it, just as there is no end of good either, but they both go in opposit directions for ever and ever.
These spirits effect all things living, they are essential in maintaining a balance in life, they were created by GOD IN THE BEGINNING AND ONCE WE RECIEVE THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH FROM GOD THE FATHER INTO US, WE ARE THEN ABLE TO LIVE LIKE GOD DOES, MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICES IN LIFE FOREVER.
MAN is not born evil nor good, he becomes influienced by the world as he grows up, exaclty as JOHN SAID, “For (ALL) that is in the world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, are “FROM the WORLD”.
IT IS “LEARNED” BEHAVIOR from the world, but man was not born with that behavior in him, even though the propensity is in all flesh from berth. A child does not know good or evil at berth, he or she has to learn it first. IMO

God uses curses, evil spirits to perform His Will and plan, He uses evil spirits to punish and teach lessons.
Isaiah 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
There are numerous scriptures of God bringing forth “evil” unto man.
There are two forms of evil that will be removed,
There will come a time where only those that follow the will of God will dwell on earth, those that do not are removed, thus their evil thoughts and ways that were against God are no longer.
If only righteousness exists then God no longer needs to create evil/cursing for punishment and instruction.
There shall not be an evil occurrence, not by man, nor by God.
If God says there is NO OTHER that creates darkness and evil onto man, why then do so many disbelieve this? Our heavenly Father does these things, to believe that another supernatural being can is to create a false god.
God says that He will inflict man with all sorts of difference forms of suffering and infimirmities, whether it be blindness, boils, fevers, epilepsy, schizophrenia, etc…
God says that He will also have mercy and heal.
People who had mental disorders were said to have evil spirits/demons, that came from gods, false gods, who God has said have NO POWER, He ALONE is the God that brings evil. There is no scripture about Him “allowing” rebellious angels to do wickedly unto man.
Matthew 8: 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Devils/or demons/or unclean spirits, if you were a pagan as mentioned earlier you believed these demons came from your god. We should believe that they came from the TRUE GOD. Do we understand these demons superstitiously, or in self righteousness, or do we understand that God controls the earth and can bring forth parasites, germs, tumors, viruses, bacteria, that he can manipulate your genes within your body and change their function to be very dysfunctional.
Matthew 8:16 tells us directly that being possessed by devils is nothing other than an infirmity.
Luke 14: 11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. 12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
She had a spirit of infirmity, she was not straight. Whether you had a spirit that made you crooked, or blind, or insane, or multiple spirits causing multiple infirmities they all were inflictions that came from the TRUE GOD.
Jesus speaks to fevers, rebuking them the same way he speaks to the spirits that cause people to be mentally disturbed.
So later in Matthew 8 we see two men who had a spirit of infirmities
28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? 30 And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. 31 So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. 32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
The two men bearing the infirmity cried out, and the passage does not say that these infirmities SPOKE once outside of the men. The speaking only came from the mouths of the men who spoke under their infirmity. Once outside of the men Jesus sent them into the swine, and what did it cause the swine to do? Did these infirmities speak through the swine to Jesus more?.., NO, they made the swine go crazy of which made them run off a cliff.
Do infirmities make you delusional, do they make you speak both things that can make sense and things that do not? Yes, absolutely. If you are told that you have a wicked demon in you defined by popular belief, and thus you speak saying you are indeed possessed by the devil himself, does that make you truly possessed by some wicked rebellious supernatural entity? No, it does not, it means that you can be mad and you can also believe in fables and assert those fables onto your own condition. God brings forth the darkness, the calamity, the curses of infirmities. Does God not also have mercy and heal? As previously stated, on another post, people with infirmities were treated like less than dogs, they were greatly OPPRESSED by the authorities, by society under these authorities. When Jesus healed them from these infirmities that oppression that came because of these infirmities was lifted. Jesus destroyed the infirmities, thus destroying the power that the Authority had over these people because of their infirmities. Jesus set them free not only from the infirmities themselves but from the type of oppression they suffered because of them by the Authorities… the Prince/Ruler/King/Emperor/ and his messengers.
Yes a child does not know good or evil from birth, and Adam and Eve likewise did not know either. To sin is to go the wrong way, it is to separate yourself from God’s way. By our own imaginations and our own ignorance sin is brought forth. Mankind is to learn that we cannot rely on our own imaginations to find wisdom, to find peace and live in peace. Evil did not enter creation until the wise creature used his imagination and with it formed a lie. Thereafter evil likewise came from God in the punishment of death.
Evil is found when there is an ignorant imagination that does not know God, or thinks it knows God but believes it can be like God from it’s own doing.

They also had quite a lot to say from within their human vessels.
Your avalanche of opinions continues but cannot hide the darkness and the powers of Satan.
