Mike……..The word there is Spirit not Soul as you assume it is. Look it up in the GREEK.

    Gene,

It is the Greek word “psuche”, which means “soul”, in most cases.  The Greek word for “spirit” is “pneuma”, not “psuche”.

Mike…….The Greek word “Psuche” is where we get our word Physic from it has to deal with the Mind our thinking. A Living soul is a Body with Spirit of Life “IN” it. A dead Soul is a Dead Body with the Spirit of Life removed “IT” the “LINING” SOUL then no longer exists without a body.

Mike why do you thing Jesus told the disciples right after he spoke those words, this for,….. every hair on you head is “numbered” Why worry about every head on a persons head being numbered, if not for a reconstruction at a later date . If as you say we are going to be a Spirit at the resurrection why the need to number anyone hair on their read for>

Jesus was showing his disciples that a record was Kept of their exact DNA for future reconstruction obviously for the resurrection, that all their Physical bodies was Kept in tack by recording of their exact DNA.

There is a real resurrection of a Exact copy of our Physical Body and Spirit will be added back into it Just as Jesus' Soul was reconstructed by a Body and Spirit added back into it also. He has this same Body and Spirit Now he is Now a “LIVING SOUL” again. IMO

    Gene,

    This is from Dictionary.com:
    psyche

1647, “animating spirit,” from L. psyche, from Gk. psykhe “the soul, mind, spirit, breath, life, the invisible animating principle or entity which occupies and directs the physical body”

You are right about the origins of the word “psyche”.  But you apparently don't agree with the bolded definition of psyche as listed above.  I do agree with it, because Jesus himself taught of a difference between the soul and the body.

Gene, here you are just reading things into the scripture.  If I tell my son that I won't let some bully “harm a single hair on his head”, I am speaking metaphorically, and saying that I won't let that bully harm him – even a little bit.

When we are told that our hairs are numbered, it is an emphatic statement telling us that God knows us personally, inside and out.  In other words, we are very important to Him – not just specs of sand on a seashore.

Think it out Gene, I have much LESS hair at 47 than I had at 17.  So will God resurrect me with my 17 year old head of hair?  My 47 year old head of hair?  Or my 90 year old head of hair?

Sheol has a lowest part and the lower part Jesus teaches is a place of torment.

    Kerwin,

I understand your belief. And I understand that you come to it by way of Jesus' parable about Lazarus and Abraham. Remember that Jesus also called those who hear God's words and do it “seeds that fell on good soil”. We are not LITERALLY seeds that fell on good soil though, right?

Anyway, I do understand what you are saying. I don't remember Jesus ever teaching about different levels of Sheol. Nor do I think the scriptures you are posting in support of your belief are really support. I believe those scriptures teach that there is no place you could go that God still can't see you, for He can even see right into Sheol/Hades/Abbadon.

your two first words are in totally opposed to the number 2

the truth is that God sins the beginning of creation never changed in his teachings,Moses law only confirm what always was ,but so few respected it.

    T,

Scripture is clear that both Abaddon and Sheol are lands of the dead. At least some Sadducees acknowledge that the dead lived within. On the other hand they failed to believe in the resurrection of the dead as it is not explicitly taught in the Old Testament.

    THE RESURRECTION IS THOUGHT SINS THE BEGINNING;

Abaddon and Sheol are same meaning; IT IS THE PLACE WERE ALL MEN WHO DIES GOES; THIS IS THE ONLY CERTITUDE THE LIVING HAVE .and it is only in our faith that we believe that God will resurrect us for judgement ,only wen Christ came he made it that it was possible to be free of the judgement by the grace of his father .

Christ tells that those who die are sleeping,or a condition similar to sleeping (stand still)

    Abaddon means Destruction.
    Sheol means Grave.

The wicked dead go to Abaddon of Sheol where they are tormented.

    T,

We are taught that the soul of a person goes to Sheol but that it is not destroyed there. It is destroyed in Gehenna, the lake of fire.

    Abaddon, though means destruction.

Mike………..It doesn't matter if you have less Hair not then when you were young in each of you Hairs is Your DNA and can Be Genetically Numbered by you Genetic make up. You complete body can be remade for the Genetic Code in every Hair on anyones head.

You completer DNA is all THERE. Jesus was referencing that their Bodies no matter what was to happen, were perfectly Preserved BY GOD. It amazes me you can't even Get that out of what Jesus was saying to his disciples AMAZING !

So their individual DNA was PRESERVED , My quest to you is why if not for a future reconstruction of the “INDIVIDUAL PERSON?

I've already answered your “quest” to me, Gene. :)

Jesus was telling us that God knows us inside and out – to the point of knowing the exact numbers of hairs on our heads. He was pointing out that we are IMPORTANT to God, and not just like specs of sand on a seashore.

    T,

Not really as Sheol/Hades is the first death and Gehenna/The Lake of Fire is the second death.

Abaddon's name hints it refers to the second death but it is seemingly used to speak of the first and then as a companion to Sheol.

Jesus speaks of a land of torment within Sheol; and Abaddon's name seems to fit such a place.

is this scritpure reffers to the grave ???? read it again

Christ to me in his parable illustrate the place were one righteous goes and were the wicked goes waiting for the time of judgement.

so that even in dead the righteous are kept separated from the wickeds ,
