Hi 94,
God never says He is a person.
The spirit of God is not a person in scriptural terms.
Beware of the ideas of theologians.
March 7, 2016 at 11:40 am#810206GeneBalthropParticipantNICK. …Well now are you beginning to see what spirits do and are? now please tell us this, do you understand that spirits impart to us their cognisity of life. IF YOU understand that then you can understand why “EVERYTHING” in existence that has life in it only acts in accordance with the spirit or spirits abiding in them. SPIRIT IS THE INTELLECT THAT A CREATURE HAS RECIEVED INTO ITSELF, AND FUNCTIONS ACCORDINGLY. THAT IS WHY I BELIEVE SPIRITS COME IN TYPES AND KINDS. ALL OF LIVING CREATION FUNCTION ACCORDING TO THE SPIRITS IN THEM, INCLUDING US ALSO. IMO
peace and love to you and yours. ……..gene

Hi 94,

Beware of the ideas of theologians.
Hebrews 1King James Version (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
March 7, 2016 at 12:57 pm#810210NickHassanParticipantHi 94,
HIS NATURE in the nasb
God does not call Himself a person there.
Do you have any others?
March 7, 2016 at 2:52 pm#810211942767ParticipantHi Nick:
Is a soul a person?
Leviticus 26:
30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.KJV
30 I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and heap your [h]remains on the remains of your idols, for My soul shall abhor you. NASB
We are made in His image. Are you a living person?
Look up the definition for what the NASB translates as nature instead of person in the concordance.
March 7, 2016 at 3:06 pm#810212942767ParticipantHi Nick:
Here is another scripture for you to consider from the NASB:
Isa 42:1
“Behold, My Servant, whom I fnuphold;
My chosen one in whom My soul delights.
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the fnnations.March 7, 2016 at 3:53 pm#810214NickHassanParticipantHi 94,
We are made in the image of God.
Ps 11 also speaks of the soul of God.
But to call God a person is one theological and nonscriptural step too far.
March 7, 2016 at 4:19 pm#810215942767ParticipantHi Nick:
Well, I don’t know about you, but God is my Father, and I have a personal relation with Him.
What does it mean to you that we are made in His image?
Love in Christ,

A few words from a passage that changed a question to a statement. I mentioned it on the last page. It is who knows if a man’s ascends to heaven and a beasts descends into the ground.

No is the best choice
God is more than His Spirit.
His Spirit is as His Finger .
But to lie to His Spirit is to lie to Him as His Spirit fully represents Him here. Acts

(remember “I don’t know” is also an acceptable answer)Hi Ed,
No is the best choice
Hi Nick, yes I agree
Are you saying:
“the spirit of Christ” is God’s spirit?________________

Ed JMarch 8, 2016 at 8:03 pm#810255NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
No is probably the best choice.
The Holy Spirit is more than the Spirit of Christ.
They are one but the Spirit of the Son is not the Spirit of the Father.
March 8, 2016 at 9:07 pm#810256Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
Is “the spirit of Christ” God’s spirit? y/n
Please answer my question clearly: “Yes” or “No”(remember “I don’t know” is also an acceptable answer)

Then I do not know will have to do then.
The ways of the Spirit are deeper than human understanding to grasp.
Pray tell us what you think.
March 9, 2016 at 6:46 am#810261NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
If sitting atop the dunghill of human understanding is important to you go for it.
But I would rather admit ignorance than risk you or I offending the Spirit of grace.

Hi Ed,
Then I do not know will have to do then.
Pray tell us what you think.
Hi Nick,
I would say “No” in the same way that the Apostle Paul’s spirit isn’t God’s Spirit.
However “the spirit of Christ” is the Son of God’s (Jesus’) spirit that
came from eternity to Bethlehem (ref. Micah 5:2) and therefor
cannot be what the Scripture calls the HolySpirit.
The HolySpirit is the Spirit of GOD.
Thanks for asking Nick!_______________
God bless
Ed JMarch 9, 2016 at 4:15 pm#810302NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Only problem is that scripture says that Jesus was a man.
What you describe is not a man but some sort of supernatural being.
Is the Spirit of Christ not holy?
