Hi KW,
The saving of flesh is in the consummate mercy of God.
But is does not give eternal salvation.
You must be born again
December 8, 2015 at 4:54 pm#805840NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
The heavenly body is not a quickened natural body.
see 1 cor 15.39-54
December 8, 2015 at 4:58 pm#805841kerwinParticipantNick,
Yes, It is God’s mercy to save the flesh and quicken it by his Spirit.
It is also needful to accept the Spirit as your instructor and seek to learn all it teaches.
The two are linked as Romans 8 teaches.
December 8, 2015 at 5:01 pm#805842kerwinParticipantNick,
All flesh is not the same flesh:
This is true for the mortal body is not the same as the quickened mortal body because the former is not quickened by the Spirit. I do not see how that is evidence of your point.

December 8, 2015 at 5:21 pm#805845kerwinParticipantNick,
I have read it before but another one.
There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
No support here either since the natural body is a mortal body that is not quickened by the Spirit and the Spiritual body is a mortal body that is quickened by the Spirit. Romans 8 makes that point as well.
December 8, 2015 at 6:41 pm#805846NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
A natural body can contain the Holy Spirit as Rom 8 tells us.
December 8, 2015 at 6:56 pm#805847NickHassanParticipantHi kW,
Only those already born of the Spirit will inherit the new spiritual body.
The rest will be naked.
December 8, 2015 at 6:58 pm#805848NickHassanParticipantHi kW,
The spiritual body is a new body.
Not a rehabilitated old one.

Hi KW,
A natural body can contain the Holy Spirit as Rom 8 tells us.
Paul does tell the Romans the Spirit is contained in them but he also says it shall quicken their mortal bodies. What are mortal bodies before they are quickened? They are nonSpiritual, ordinary, natural.

Hi kW,
The spiritual body is a new body.
Not a rehabilitated old one.
I assume you mean upgraded one as a Spirit quickened mortal body is an upgrade to a mortal body. It is certainly not the one that was laid in Jesus’ grave.
December 8, 2015 at 8:18 pm#805851NickHassanParticipantHi kW,
Neither is Jesus still in the damaged body he was laid in.
December 8, 2015 at 8:20 pm#805852NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
The new must be put over the old.
They are not the same.
December 8, 2015 at 8:35 pm#805853NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
His resurrection into his old body was to fulfill the sign of Jonah.
But when he was lifted up from the earth he was changed.
Reclothed in a spiritual body so we can follow.
December 9, 2015 at 6:00 am#805854GeneBalthropParticipantNick…..Your assumptions do not equal what scripture says, no where does scripture say Jesus was changed into something else after his asention, if that is so THEN PRODUCE the scriptures to show it. kerwin is right it is the old mortal body that must “put on” imortality, not a different body, that must put on imortality but this one must, just as it says, “This mortal must put on imortality”.
The same flesh DNA will be in the resurected body but having been formed by THE SPIRIT OF GOD, not from the copulation of a human male and female, but by the Spirit of the living God. Therefore it shall be sustained eternally by the spirit of “him”, that produced it. It will none the less be a “physical” body just as Jesus was resurected with. Paul said for we hope for the resurection, that will witness “THE REDEMPTION OF OUR “BODIES”. The words “OUR BODIES” is referencing our present bodies.
What makes you even think our physical existence will be done away with in the first place, GOD loves his physical creations, all of them including us also. Why should he ever do away with it? His aim is to preserve it not do away with it. It is not the physical creation that is bad, it’s the evil existing in it that he will remove.
peace and love to you and yours. ………..gene
December 9, 2015 at 6:05 am#805855GeneBalthropParticipantNick…..Jesus’ bod had nothing to do with the resuction of Jonah’s body as far as bodies go but had to do withthe time he would be in the grave only. You would be better of not adding your own interputions to what scripture says. IMO

December 9, 2015 at 6:19 am#805856NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
The sign of Jonah was the bringing back of a man from the dead.
Jonah died and went to the place of the dead but was brought back to life.
December 9, 2015 at 6:24 am#805857NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
Jonah was a prophet alive in the Spirit of Christ.
Like Samuel he could be awakened at the choice of the Lord God.
December 9, 2015 at 6:24 am#805858NickHassanParticipantHi GB,
The Spirit of Christ gives eternal life to those who receive it.

If you believe what Paul wrote in Scripture then you believe that Jesus rose in a Spirit quickened mortal body.
If that body is damaged then then God designed it to be damaged and if it is scared then God designed it to be scared. Who are we to debate God.
A Spiritual body is a Spirit quickened mortal body as a Spirit quickened mortal body is “of, relating to, or affecting” (Google definition spiritual) the Spirit of God. There is not need to invent another one or claim what is not written in Scripture.
