    Hi T,
    Really?
But you do not speak his spiritual language.

they told you a lie ;those who told you what you just told me ,

for scriptures are self contained in truth and so will answer all your needs ,

even the mysteries of God ,

but you have to believe the scriptures

    Why bother with water?

    It went out with John

Both John the B and Jesus Christ made it very clear that baptism in the holy spirit was to replace John’s baptism in water.

Why bother with symbols when we can have the real thing?

    Acts 1:

4 And, being assembled together with them , commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he , ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Those of us who have done Romans 10:9-10 have been baptized in the gift of holy spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.

    Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

All Christians have been baptized in the gift of holy spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.

Now we have the power to live powerful Christian lives that truly glorify God

If that is the case; why a falling away in the last days?
Is the H.Spirit withdrawn in the last days?

What of those believers who had the Spirit, but were baptized in water afterward?

Baptised in water or not baptised; it is the last test that counts.
Save your life and worship the beast;or worship the Lord, and be killed.
Love the Lord more than yourself. The reward is beyond our imagination.
The ones baptised with the Holy Spirit will have an easier time ahead,
because of their strong faith. They have no fear of death.
Jesus said; you shall not see death. It will be in a flash.
The very elect will not have to go through the test.
    They are the first fruits.

    wakeup.

Is the subject of this thread water baptism or the day of Christ?

Did you find any scripture that suggests that the gift of holy spirit is withdrawn in those days?

If you like getting wet, get water baptized.

If getting wetting is enjoyable to you, then by all means get dipped.

What do you think is greater?

    a. Being baptized in John’s water baptism

    b. being baptized in the baptism that the son of God, Jesus Christ brings, the baptism in the gift of holy spirit in the name of Jesus Christ?

With the coming of the greater, the lesser is dispensed with. Acts 1:4-5

Why not stay under the law?

or should we rather live in the grace truth Jesus Christ made available to us?

That is, to live in grace, not law.

The law came by Moses, grace came by Jesus Christ.

    John 1:17

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

What do you think is greater? To live under the law that came by Moses? or to live in the grace Jesus Christ came to bring?

    The law was until John.

    Luke 16:16

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

    Hi SOG,
    Why bother with water?
Why bother then with any of the commands of God?

The apostles baptised in water and the Spirit.
Were they deceived and are you correct?

Baptism in water is just a symbol of the real thing.

Water represents the Holy spirit. Rivers of waters=Holy spirit flowing from God.

To come to Christ one must be willing to be washed from all sins.

He must be washed in water as a SYMBOL of washing the sins away.

We know that water can not wash any sins away.

Only  repentance and a new clean life in Christ can.

Born again is the GREAT REWARD given at the coming of Christ; not before.

Only he that has made it to the end, will be born again of the spirit, and will be spirit.

Our mother giving birth;  is mother Zion. She will give birth at the resurrection.

Her first  child of the resurrection is Jesus.

Only he who have made it to the end, will be saved.

One should not claim to be saved, before he has made it through the tribulation, and made white.

He must cross the finish line first, then claim the prize.

For there will be a falling away first before the coming.

Meaning there will be  many UNBORN AGAIN Christians in the future?

I don’t think that one can be unborn again at any time.

Once born again;  he is forever born again.

You have been fed with sweet words. Sweet lollipops, and are addicted to sweets.

And now will  not take the good medicine; but spew out what is good.

And cast it in the trash.

The truth is, that many are called, but a few chosen. This taste very bitter; because used to only sweets.

One must be given the Holy spirit to be truly born again and understand,

all  scriptures; the Word of God. And must seek. And they all shall know me, that I am he.

Sorry; but not now; not yet. Not until the kingdom of God on earth.

This would be after the great test, and have passed that test.

Then:  knowledge will cover the earth as the sea cover the earth.

    All shall know the Lord.

This only means :   not now ;  not yet.  But later.

The candy is tasting bitter, yes I know; but truth is  truth.

All must be in the race, to make it to the finish line.

No race; no reward. Just getting wet and no race, is no reward.

We must not be of Babylon in spirit. but of Zion the holy Jerusalem.

We must not be yoked with the world; but be separate from the world.

Water can not separate us from the world, but the spirit of Christ in us can.

To know *OF* the Lord is not to know THE Lord. Many are still questioning and seeking.

Yes, they don’t know the Lord; for no man knows the Son and the Father.

Some believe he is an angel ; some say He is just a man, some say He was flesh and is still flesh.

These are the signs that no man knows. They are groping in then dark. because they can not comprehend the light.

Brother should love brother, and warn each other with a  loud  voice, not just a whisper, of sweet words.

    Shalom to all.

    wakeup.

    Wakeup,

Baptism in water is just a symbol of the real thing.

In the Law of Moses a person immerse themselves to become ritually clean. That is the immersion that John the Baptist was practicing. It is the one that Jesus asked whether it came from God or from man and the Pharisees were afraid to answer as they feared men and not God. That same water symbolized cleanliness when Jesus instructed a certain man to go to the Pool of Siloam and wash therein in order to be cured. Why did Jesus tell him to do so when he could of cured him without doing so? Would the man have been cured if he disobeyed Jesus?

    To all that are concerned,

John the Baptist’s baptism washed sins away as it was a immersion of forgiveness. Jesus came to do more than forgive us our sins as forgiveness was already available before he came. There is no instruction to live by the Spirit before that Pentecost that Perter spoke the gospel and immersed many in water. What they were told instead is to live by the Law of Mosses.

    Hi Nick,

Are you OK if they say it both ways?

    “in Jesus name”
    – and –
“in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the HolySpirit”

    ???
