    Hi Mike,

What do you believe the “Tree of Life” is then?

I haven't seen any scriptural reason to think it is anything but an actual tree – the leaves of which will heal the nations, and the fruit of which, if eaten, will endow the person who ate it with eternal life.

    Hi Mike,

18She is a    *Tree of Life*    to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who hold her fast.

    Hi Abe,

Is it your claim that because the phrase “tree of life” is used metaphorically, it can no longer ever refer to a REAL tree?

    Hi T,

Jam.1:19   My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

Ec.7:9   Do not be eager in your heart to be angry, For anger resides in the bosom of fools.

Matt.7:1   Judge not, that you be not judged. 2For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why behold you the mote that is in your brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in your own eye? 4Or how will you say to your brother, Let me pull out the mote out of your eye; and, behold, a beam is in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then shall you see clearly to cast out the mote out of your brother's eye.

6Give not that which is holy to the dogs, neither cast you your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Ge 2:9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

    this is what scriptures says ;and Adam eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil;

if it was not a real tree why could they eat the fruit thereof ???

Ge 3:3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”

Ge 3:22 And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

why are they not believing those scriptures ???

    ABE

please answer my questions ,do not run away ,

be clear in you comments ,

Terricca……Jesus said unless you eat the flesh , and drink the blood of the son of man, you have no life in you. Do you guys also believe, Jesus was literally saying we are to literally “EAT” and “DRINK” his real flesh and blood.?, or was he actually saying we are to “TAKE TO OURSELVES”  the sacrifice he gave, of his flesh and blood for the forgiveness of our sins., symbolically it's is exactly like we do when we eat and drink food, we are taking it to ourselves. Jesus used this in a symbolic and metaphoric sense and in GENESIS it is used that way also. There is no literal tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Neither is there a literal “physical” tree that is a tree of life we can eat from and have eternal life.

Peace and love to you and yours…………………….gene

You know that scriptures says that Adam eat from the tree he should have not eaten this cause him and all of his descendance to die,I know the tree was not poison ,but it was his obedience that was in question, but it was and still is an real tree in the garden of Eden ,if not how could he eaten from it ???

As for the tree of live ,is not. The same thing does not God prevent Adam to physically to eat from it??? Yes this is written

So you have no say to explain what is clearly written in scriptures,if you believe it or not that is yours to consider ,

    Peace brother…

That is the way I understood your response to my belief that the tree of life is an actual real tree.

You posted a scripture where “tree of life” was used metaphorically, and it seemed to me that your point was that the real tree of life is also metaphorical – based on that scripture you posted.

This often happens when you don't DIRECTLY address the other person's post, Abe. When you just post scriptures, with no comment about what you understand those scriptures to be saying, or how you think they agree or disagree with the other person's post, it is easy for others here to become confused.

In this case, I assumed you were DISAGREEING with my belief that the tree of life is an actual tree, that once grew in the Garden of Eden.

And I assumed you were trying to show me the “error of my ways” by posting a scripture where “tree of life” is used metaphorically.

Was I wrong to assume those things? Better yet, is it wrong for YOU to constantly make people work from assumptions, simply because you refuse to just come right out and say what's on your mind?

    Hi Mike,

Prov.3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine Own understanding.

    (Quote)
Is it your claim that because the phrase “tree of life” is used metaphorically, it can no longer ever refer to a REAL tree?

I never said that. Why do you put words in my mouth?

    Peace.

Look at the quotes above, Abe. Show me where I “put words in your mouth”. I see where I asked QUESTIONS because I wanted CLARIFICATION. But I don't see where I “put words in your mouth”.

And look how these quote boxes have developed. I am STILL looking for an answer to my QUESTION. And you are STILL speaking in riddles, making false accusations against me.

Dude, if you don't know how to have a scriptural discussion, then just don't say anything to me. If you DO comment on one of my posts, then be MAN enough to stand and explain/defend what you said.

As it stands right now, I believe the tree of life was an actual tree with REAL fruit that was once in the Garden of Eden. If you agree with me, say, “I agree with that, Mike”.

If you DON'T agree with me, then show me a scripture that would prohibit my understanding. So far you have done neither, which leaves us all guessing as to whether you agree with me or not.

Which brings me back to the question I asked you in my last post:

Is it wrong for YOU to constantly make people work from assumptions, simply because you refuse to just come right out and say what's on your mind?

    What is your answer, Abe?
