    Gene,

Is it believer or the Son that is in them that cries Abba, Father?

    What is Mike's answer?

    1Cor 2:11

For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

    Matthew 11:27

All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

We all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

    Hebrews 9:13

For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

    Wisdom – Chapter 1

    'Love uprightness you who are rulers on earth, be properly disposed towards the Lord and seek him in simplicity of heart;
for he will be found by those who do not put him to the test, revealing himself to those who do not mistrust him.
Perverse thoughts, however, separate people from God, and power, when put to the test, confounds the stupid.
    Wisdom will never enter the soul of a wrong-doer, nor dwell in a body enslaved to sin;
for the holy spirit of instruction flees deceitfulness, recoils from unintelligent thoughts, is thwarted by the onset of vice.
Wisdom is a spirit friendly to humanity, though she will not let a blasphemer's words go unpunished; since God observes the very soul and accurately surveys the heart, listening to every word.
For the spirit of the Lord fills the world, and that which holds everything together knows every word said.'

    The Shepherd.
    Fifth Similitude:

'The field is this world; and the Lord of the field is He who created, and perfected, and strengthened all things; and the son is the Holy Spirit.

The holy, pre-existent Spirit, that created every creature, God made to dwell in flesh, which He chose. This flesh, accordingly, in which the Holy Spirit dwelt, was nobly subject to that Spirit, walking religiously and chastely, in no respect defiling the Spirit; and accordingly, after living excellently and purely, and after labouring and co-operating with the Spirit, and having in everything acted vigorously and courageously along with the Holy Spirit, He assumed it as a partner with it.

For this conduct of the flesh pleased Him, because it was not defiled on the earth while having the Holy Spirit.

He took, therefore, as fellow-councillors His Son and the glorious angels, in order that this flesh, which had been subject to the body without a fault, might have some place of tabernacle, and that it might not appear that the reward of its servitude had been lost, for the flesh that has been found without spot or defilement, in which the Holy Spirit dwelt, will receive a reward.'

    1Cor 12: 4-12

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slavesd or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

    Hi Mike,

What did Jesus receive from the Father?  What do you say the Holy Spirit is?

    Peace brother.

Jesus received the promised Holy Spirit from the Father, Abe. Are you saying one Son of God received a different Son of God from the Father?

As to your second question, it is hard to put the answer into words. Briefly, God's Holy Spirit is a means by which God can place knowledge, power, feelings of joy etc., into another being.

Like a gateway through which God can gift certain qualities of Himself to others if He chooses.

Of course there is more to the Holy Spirit than that, but these are the qualites of God's Spirit that apply to Acts 2:33.

So can't you see in a real “SENSE” the Holy Spirit can be call the son of GOD, if it “DWELLS “in YOU then you are made a Son of GOD by that Sprit Dwelling in you.

    Gene,

I think you are saying that the Spirit of God can METAPHORICALLY be called “the son of God” in the way that wisdom can METAPHORICALLY be said to have “children”.

But there is no scripture that metaphorically calls the Spirit of God His son, right?

Besides, I don't think that is what 2B is saying.  I believe he is saying that the Spirit of God is LITERALLY God's firstborn son.

So it seems you are unable to answer my very first two questions of this exercise.  You are unable to produce any scripture that clearly explains to us that the Spirit, even METAPHORICALLY, is ever called “the son of God”, or is even DESCRIBED AS a son of God.

And you are unable to give a credible explanation as to how something can be with God at the same time that it is the very God it is with.

You guys have got to do better than this.  We're only on verse 1, and already you're stumped.   Hmmmmm…………..

2Co 1:18 But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.”
2Co 1:19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.”
2Co 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
2Co 1:21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,

please give more details how you come to the above ” bride and wife “

    Hi T,

2Co 1:22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a      deposit,     guaranteeing     what is to come.

Rom.8:9   But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the    Spirit of God     dwell in you. Now if any man have not the     Spirit of Christ,     he is none of his.

    1) Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ.
this is done through the knowledge of knowing the plan of God through his only son Christ with a promise,

     2)He anointed us,

anointed us ,means put us a part ;from the rest of the world

3)set his  Seal  of ownership on us,

means creating an exclusive partnership not to be shared by any other,

4)put his Spirit in our hearts as a    deposit

this is to come after #1 is clear in our mind and heart ,then the truth of the understanding of his will becomes more and more clear to those who serve him with a pure heart ,and so they know that God is present with them and acting on our behalves and so feel secure with God,

      5)guaranteeing what is      to come.

this his the knowledge that a believer comes to ,wen all his heart and soul as been made to melt with God's will in Christ ,this as eliminated all doubts about the future ,

so I do not see what you see why is that ???

    King James Version (KJV)

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Kerwin, where exactly does this scripture say the “Spirit of adoption” IS the “Son of God”?  And even if you really stretched these words to imply something that they don't clearly imply, who then is the “spirit of bondage”?

See?  If the “spirit of adoption” is the literal son of God, then it would stand to reason that the “spirit of bondage” must also personify some person.  Who is that person?

    Quote (kerwin @ Mar. 29 2013,12:06)
    Galatians 4:6
    King James Version (KJV)

6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

And how does this one say the Spirit of God is the Son of God?  Think it out:  If the Spirit that God sent forth was the spirit of the “Holy Spirit/Son of God”, then the verse would be saying that the Holy Spirit of God has a spirit of its own – one that was sent forth by God.

Do you believe that the Holy Spirit of God has its own spirit that can be sent forth from God?

Neither of these scriptures teaches that God's Holy Spirit is His Son, Kerwin.

Kerwin, the question makes no sense. Proof read it and see if you can correct it.
