Quote (Nick Hassan @ June 01 2014,19:42) Hi MB,
“In John 6, Jesus himself tells us that he came down from heaven.”Yes the anointed man Jesus said that.
Of course it was the Spirit speaking through him.
Show me from SCRIPTURE, Nick.(Oh, and don't forget to use only ONE scripture to support your theory, so you don't end up with a “patchwork quilt”. )

Jesus was the Word who became flesh. He was existing in the form of God before emptying himself and being made in the likeness of a human being. God sent His firstborn Son into the world. That Son came down from heaven. That firstborn Son was also the firstborn of EVERY creature, and God created all things in heaven and earth through him. This is what the scriptures teach. Some men don't like what they teach, and so they try to mold the scriptures around their own beliefs. But in the end, it is all for naught.
But no, Mike, it is you who is rationalizing trying to Make the scriptures say what you think that they mean.
Marty,There was nothing in that long post that refuted anything that I said.
And more importantly, there is no amount of rationalizing (you did quite a bit in that post) that will CHANGE the fact that the PERSON Jesus is the one who said he came down from heaven, not to do his own will, but to do the will of God.
That is really the BOTTOM LINE for you non-preexisters, Marty. You can accept that scriptural teaching, or try to rationalize it away.
The choice is yours.
Hi Mike:The scriptures tell us how he came down from heaven, and if you will read what I have given you, which supported by scripture, then the scriptures will refute what you said: “that he was sent from heaven to be born of the flesh”.
His body, his flesh, was conceived by the Holy Ghost in the womb of the virgin Mary, and he was born of the virgin Mary and at that time “he was called the Son of God”.
The scripture states that He was conceived of the Holy
Ghost, not that he jumped into the womb of the virgin Mary from some pre-existing state, and then was born of flesh. And if he said, that he would give his flesh so that we could have life, and then defines that he is speaking of the
Word of God that would be spoken through him as a man, then the Word of God was not spoken to humanity until he became a man, and specifically, in his ministry. That is how his body, and his spirit came down from heaven according to the scriptures.
Now, give me the scripture which states that he came down from heaven in some pre-existent state into the womb of the virgin Mary to be born into this world.

Hi Pierre:This is what the scriptures state:
Quote Genesis 1
King James Version (KJV)
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
[Quote]31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Martymy point was to show you that their are many question that are not answered ;and have to be believed by faith ,based on the information that God as provided us ,
it may be not spelled the way we would like to see it ,but we can use our god given intelligence and logic ,with god's wisdom and history ,to figure out what are the most important things to know so that we can LOVE OUR CREATOR AND GOD ,WITH ALL OUR HEART MIND AND SOUL WITHIN ALL OUR STRENGTH ,
DON'T BE LIKE THOMAS THAT WANT TO SEE WHIT HIS OWN EYES ,AND SO BELIEVE ;THIS MAY CAUSE YOU TO LOSE THE GIFT ;THAT IS WHY CHRIST SAID ;
Jn 20:19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
Jn 20:20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
Jn 20:21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
Jn 20:22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
Jn 20:23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”Jesus Appears to Thomas
Jn 20:24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.
Jn 20:25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it.”
Jn 20:26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
Jn 20:27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Jn 20:28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jn 20:29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”SO FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE WE SHOULD ERASE THE FOLLOWING SCRIPTURES OR AT THE LEAST ;CHANGE THEM AND SO MAKE A HUMAN OUT OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD “WOULD THIS BE WISE
Jn 6:38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.
JESUS COULD NOT BE MORE CLEAR THAN THIS ,EITHER YOU BELIEVE HIM OR YOU DO NOT ;
Jn 3:12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?
Jn 3:13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.Jn 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
IF NOT WITH GOD YOU ARE AGAINST GOD ;LIGHT IS WITH GOD ;DARKNESS IS WITHOUT GOD

You say
“That is how his body, and his spirit came down from heaven according to the scriptures.”Of course his body and his spirit were of a man like us.
His anointing came down from heaven

The scriptures state:
Quote Rom 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.And,
Quote 2Ti 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:2Ti 3:17
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. If there is not scripture which supports what you say that you believe I will never accept it.
If God did not say it, I won't teach it. It is His Word that I am teaching not your opinions.

Hi Nick:Surely, he was a man like us in every way other that he was conceived of the Holy Ghost instead of the sperm of man, and by his spirit, I am not speaking of “breath of life”, but of the Word of God that he obeyed unto without sin unto death on the cross. It is the life that one lives in the body that defines the person and either gives him life or death. Of course, for life, one must first be born again.
He said:
Quote Jhn 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.Love in Christ,
