    Hi Gene,

You know most here do not believe “The Word” is the “Spirit” of God.

    Hi Ed,

    (1) And is the Spirit of God actually God Himself?  Or is it a completely separate God?

    (2) Whoever the Word was in 1:1, that person BECAME flesh, dwelled among us on earth, had the glory of God's only begotten, died, and then was raised from the dead and now sits at God's right hand.

    (3) If the Word was God's Holy Spirit, then that Holy Spirit DIED at one time.

    (4) If the Word = God's Spirit = God Himself, like I think you believe, then we have all kinds of problems.

    (5) Because people HAVE then seen the face of God, when scripture says they haven't.

    (6) And it would mean that God Himself became flesh and had a glory of HIS OWN only begotten.

    (7) It would mean that God Himself DIED, raised HIMSELF from the grave, and now sits at HIS OWN right hand.

    (8) Have you thought this through Ed?

    peace and love,
    mike

    Hi Mike,

    1) God's spirit is God. (See John 4:24 & Acts 5:3-4)

    2) John Chapter 1 doesn't say all that and you know it.

    3) Jesus was 1/2 human, that part died. (See Luke 10:30-36)

    4) What kind of problems?

    5) How so? (See John 8:29 & John 14:9)

    6) He is the one who gives glory. (See 2Cor.3:18)

    7) No; why are you saying all that?

    8) You bet!

Do you actually look up these corroborative verses I give you?

    God bless

    Hi Ed,

I will assume that MY #4 summed up YOUR understanding, judging from the answer you gave to it. So let's work from there………………

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Now, why in the world would God Himself have a glory as of HIS OWN only begotten? ???

Would not God have the glory as of GOD, and not as of someone He had begotten?

    Hi Mike,

    You changed the question.
You asked who was the only begotten,
not who was “The Word” that was made flesh.

                           Ho Logos(91) = Spirit(91)
Stay on track. “The Word” was “Spirit”  made flesh.
