2) When the Apostle Paul said in Rom.8:28 that “all things” work together
for good to them that love God – what are these “all things” if not “the facts”? …. (<– please answer)What do you mean… “Facts”?
“All things” work together for the good of those who love him. It means no matter how hard a situation or life may be, it is all a part of a process, and in the end, all things work out for the good, all things shape who we are and where we are going. God foreknew (those who he knows), and even if it is hard, it is for the good.
And sometimes when we truly trust in Him, all things “work out”. He leads us to safer places.
Don’t know what you are on about “facts” – no doubt it is supposed to fit into your maths equations or something??

The experience I had I cried cause I wanted to go back.
We are here for a reason… then we go back.Hi Miia,
“The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof,
but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth:
so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)_______________

Hi Miia,
Still trying to jump to conclusions I see.
(perhaps you need another look at my previous post)July 14, 2015 at 12:46 am#801004Ed JParticipantIt means no matter how hard a situation or life may be, it is all a part of a process,

Thank you; I liked your explanation and I like your definition of “all things” as “situations”.
Well the situation you are in is this: we are examining the facts
to look into the rhelm of “communicate” “with spirit”.
Do you not believe this is for your good?_______________
God bless

Those that hear the word of God are in the kingdom of heaven but those who choose to live by the flesh and not the Spirit will not enter the reign of God to come so each of use is instructed to strive to get through that narrow door.
July 14, 2015 at 7:02 am#801007NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Hearing changes nothing.
Obedience to what is heard does.
Flesh was created and God said it was very good.
What resides in the idolatrous flesh is what drives natural men.
July 14, 2015 at 8:01 am#801010kerwinParticipantNick,
Yes, I covered obedience to the word in what I wrote.July 14, 2015 at 9:06 am#801011NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
You must be born again.
Self effort is not the way.

I also covered that in what I wrote.

You cannot live by the Spirit till you are reborn of that Spirit.

That is what I meant when I said “Those that hear the word of God”.

Hi Kerwin.
I can’t see how we could be in the Kingdom of Heaven right now – even if we choose to live by the spirit and not the flesh.
To get through the “narrow door” seems to relate to “the camel and the eye of the needle”. Apparently, there was a gate called ‘The eye of the Needle’, and in order to fit through, people had to lose their possessions that were attached to their Camel. Jesus said Matthew 19:24, “I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” It seems to me Jesus here is saying it IS possible with God to rid ourselves of our possessions and our attachment to them and enter in?
July 15, 2015 at 12:04 am#801028kerwinParticipantMiia,
It is not our possessions we have give up to inherit the world to come. It is the works of the flesh. Jesus tested the young ruler’s heart by instructing him to give all he owned to those in need.
I do not know if the story about the eye of the needle being a gate is true but I do know what is impossible for man is possible with God.
The narrow gate is living by the Spirit for those that live will not inherit the reign of God even though they have entered the kingdom of God.
The kingdom is like a net thrown into the world and which catches both good and bad fish. In the Day of Judgement it will be hauled before God and then the bad fish will be reserved for destruction and the good fish will be reserved for everlasting life.
The kingdom of God is among us but there appear to be extremely few good fish.
July 15, 2015 at 7:06 am#801040NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Yes we can do nothing to contribute to our salvation.
All is by choice and of grace.
July 15, 2015 at 7:09 am#801041NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Mt 13.41
“The son of man will send forth his angels and they will gather OUT OF HIS KINGDOM
all stumbling blocks and those who commit lawlessness and will throw them into the furnace of fire;in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth”
July 15, 2015 at 11:53 am#801049kerwinParticipantNick,
I assume you mean anything we do we do because of the grace of God and so we have nothing to boast about.

Guys,
What you are discussing has nothing to do with the topic.
May I suggest you discuss these matters on another thread._______________
Thank you
Ed JJuly 16, 2015 at 10:23 pm#801078MiiaParticipantIt is not our possessions we have give up to inherit the world to come.
Kerwin,
Well according to scripture to inherit eternal life; one of the requirements includes giving up our possessions. Look:(Matthew 19:16-22)
And behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”The young man said to him, “All these I have kept. What do I still lack?” Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

The kingdom of God is among us but there appear to be extremely few good fish.
If the kingdom of God is among us but there appear to be extremely few good fish, how do we get there?
July 16, 2015 at 11:23 pm#801086kerwinParticipantMiia,
I realize the words but the reason Jesus instructed instructed him to do that was not for him to sacrifice his possessions but rather for him to show compassion in some manner. His reaction revealed that his wealth has become an idol and thus Jesus’ words.
Paul wrote something to the affect that if we give up all of our possession and have not charity then we have gained nothing and there are some who have been doing just that.
