Hi not3,
Do the mention being born again?
I don't think so.
Acts 19June 4, 2008 at 9:53 pm#91163Not3in1ParticipantOH, gotcha.
Rest assured that the Christadelphs that I have studied with believe that you must be born again.
In fact, all the Delph's I've had contact with believe this fundamental.June 4, 2008 at 10:18 pm#91170NickHassanParticipantHi not3,
Then they should correct their leaders or shake the dust from their feet.

Yes, denying Satan is a point where I do not agree with them. We studied with them when I was in the Abrahamic Faith congregation. I lean more towards the COGAF congregation but even they have some weird ideas (don't we all)?June 4, 2008 at 11:33 pm#91205NickHassanParticipantHi not3,

May 15, 2010 at 2:20 pm#191055GeneBalthropParticipantNick………….They the Christadelphians do not deny Satan (adversarial Spirit) THEY DENY HIM A SEPARATE “BEING” GOING AROUND JUMPING IN AND OUT OF PEOPLE AS YOU SUPPOSE HE DOES. Satan is a term for anyone who is against GOD'S WILL and Purpose. It is a generic term and can be anyone, as Jesus called PETER and JUDAS and The Pharisees he called the Childern of the DEVIL or SATAN, all of these are to be understood as a Metaphor for an adversary (SPIRIT) or INTELLECT toward GOD and His purposes and nothing more. Mystery religion has made the word Satan a metaphysical being that does not really exist. IMO

Your wierd theories carry no spiritual weight.May 15, 2010 at 8:29 pm#191088kerwinParticipantGene,
Scripture tells us Satan exists. Therefor I believe what God states and not what you or the Christodelphians state.
You may choose to believe what you may but God will hold you accountable for your choices both evil and good.

Scripture tells us that satan was crushed under the feet of the Roman Christians (Rom. 16:20).Satan is not operating in the world today but has been cast into the lake of fire.

“——————————————————————————–
Forum,The Christadelphians are great people, very sincere in what they believe and well studied in the scripture. I have had long dialogue with them on the BTDF site and learned quite a bit.
All in all the CA's treated me quite well on their site for 2 years, I was eventually placed on “moderation” by them because of my discussion of the Urantia Book….rather Insistently I must admit.
It is my opinion and the conclusion of others that have encountered the CA's that their doctrine is “pre-conceived” and forced into the Bible in a mind boggling fashion. While they read the scripture they unknowingly translate the meaning of the words into ideas that are not apparent to a common reading. They use “context” as a kind of flux to pound square pegs into round holes.
Some key things that I concluded from them:
* The “beast of the felid” was just a smart animal like a parrot, he was not a supernatural tempter
* That there is no heaven, men will be resurrected on earth.
* That man has no eternal soul.
* That Satan is synonymous with “adversary”
* That Lucifer was a fancy king
* That the Transfiguration was a “vision” and not real
* That Enoch and Elijah were hidden away by God and did not go to heaven
* That Jesus is fully man in heaven
* That there is no literal “spiritual birth”
* That “the world of God made flesh” meant that Jesus was just an idea in Gods mind long ago
* That “demons” were just some sort of sickness and not volitional fallen angelic beings of some sort.

You cannot grasp the Spirit intellectually.
