    Hi KW,

    Reason is only a distantly relevant factor compared with revelation.

    But it usually pushes to the front of the queue.

    Revelation is for prophets and apostle but not everyone is one or the other.

    Reason is how one learns from prophets and apostles. That is why God gave men reason.

    Paul reasoned in the marketplace of Athens instead of claiming that the gospel would be revealed to those that heard him without his reasoning.(Acts 17:17)

    He also claimed that believing comes from hearing. (Romans 10:17)

    There is also the revelation that separates those that believe the word they hear from those who do not.

    The Word that is preached is Spiritual.

    If you believe he and his father being one…means they are the same exact people..then you must believe these Christians are either the same exact people, or part of the trinity. Or is it that the Christian congregation is to be one in unity, will, and purpose, JUST AS the father and son are one in unity, will and purpose?

    Yes the latter is true – our oneness with Christ makes us the Body

    but His Oneness with the Father makes Him the Head

    “I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity..”

    When we as believers become as devoted to Christ as He was to the Father, then our unity as the Body will reflect the Oneness of the Tri-unity – we will function as One.

     

    If no man has ever seen God, then how is Jesus God when lots of people saw him, even after his resurrection?

    It says of Christ that He emptied Himself to become a man…thus in His humanity His Deity was concealed, and still is – only through our spiritual eyes can we behold Him as He is..

    “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” – 2 Cor 4:6

    “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” – 1 Cor 3:18

    “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Cor 4:4

    Was God in Christ reconciling the world to Himself or was Christ another god doing the work?

    Could the image of God be another god?

    Who is blind and deaf?

    You would not suffer such confusion if you believed what Jesus said about Himself.

    And sadly such a statement indicates you have not become one with the Father and the Son as Jesus Christ prayed you would.

    You should not be easily convinced by the arguments of carnal men who cannot understand things of the Spirit.

    DavidL,

    The Trinity doctrine accuses the one true God of being tempted by sin. Those who endorse it are either ok with that fact or they deny it but do it anyways. In either case the fact does not change.

    I refuse to accuse God of being tempted by sin for he cannot be tempted by evil while Jesus Christ was tempted even as common to humanity.

    The Trinity doctrine exists because because their are those that do not want to come into the light and so created an illusion where no human being can can come into the light in order to sooth their own conscious.

    you obviously have reached your own conclusions on the Trinity (like others here), but if you relied on the Holy Spirit for guidance then you would not say such things..

    The Father sent His Spirit down from heaven to His Son..

    Father, Son and Holy Spirit – separate yet unified.
