Oh that is funny. When it is convenient for you, you acknowledge that others are called theos and elohim. So we have some progress now. I told you that scripture mentions this.
As for your point that Jesus is more deserving of that title, well I have to agree. But note that he said in response that he was the son of God. That mihgt have something…[Read more]

Many beings are described as gods even if they are never actually called a god. e.g., the Judges were called gods and as far as I know not one is called a god or god. e.g., Nicodemus the god…
Same with angels. They are described as being elohim, yet I don’t know anywhere where they are called Michael the god or Gabriel a god.
The word elohim…[Read more]

We know that there is one God the Father. He is the true God.
But we also acknowledge that theos/elohim are used to describe others including idols, men, angels, Satan, and Jesus. Believe it or not, even an earthquake is described as elohim. This is reality. You can read these other theos/elohim examples in scripture for yourself. @GeneBalthrop,…[Read more]

Here are two questions I would like you guys to answer. Make it simple with a yes and a no. Should take less than 30 seconds to answer.
1) Is Jesus the only begotten?
2) Is Jesus the only created?
Are your answers different. If so, my point is valid. I await your two answers.

Eve is called in scripture “the mother of all living”, right? (Gen 3:20) So let’s try it this way:
All human beings came into existence through Eve. Without her, not one human being came into existence.
Is it a true statement, based on the SCRIPTURE Gen 3:20? Absolutely.
But does it mean that Eve herself DIDN’T come into existen…

I read your last post. This is my reply to that.
- The word ‘create’ in scripture is used of ‘man’. Where is that same word used of the ‘Word’ or ‘Jesus’ before coming in the flesh?
- Yes we are begotten of God, this is the hope that we have. But that doesn’t negate that we were created or made by God through his Word etc. It just…

I will make it even simpler for you @Mikeboll64
Q: Was the Word created?
If you say yes, then you have a problem as to how the Word was created through the Word.
If you say no, and if Jesus is the Word, then you admit that he was not created.

So if the scripture says “EVERYTHING” was created through Jesus/The Word, then isn’t it equally clear that Jesus/The Word is EXCLUDED from the “EVERYTHING”?
Read 1 Cor 8:6. It is the same “ALL THINGS” that came from God which also came through our Lord, Jesus Christ. Now since it’s clear that God Himself is NOT one of the “ALL THINGS”…

When I look at your view of Jesus Christ in its entirety I am confused about the following. Perhaps you can clear this up for me. I apologise if you have already done this elsewhere. Also, correct me if I am wrong in representing your views.
You believe:
- The Word that was with God had a beginning.
- Jesus is the Word that was with…

Genesis 4:1
Now the man had marital relations with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. Then she said, “I have created a man with the help of the LORD!”To be fair, I could only see one translation with the word ‘create’ and you probably already knew that. This list was a straight copy and paste from Bible Hub…[Read more]

Agreed. There existed one sentient being, and then God caused there to be a second sentient being. Whether you prefer the word “begot” or “created”, the meaning is the same. Anytime a new sentient person comes into being, a “creation” has occurred. For example, when I “begot” my son, a new CREATION came into existence.

As for the point people like to make about God not “diminishing” when He created His firstborn, I’ve always wondered why that point would even need to be stated.
I guess people could say that if the word was in God and then was begotten, then God divided himself up and this could open the door to many weird doctrines. It is impor…[Read more]

I am becoming even more confused. In my understanding, there was ONLY God in the beginning. There existed NO OTHER living, sentient entity except for God Himself. Then came the day that God created “Wisdom/The Word/Jesus” as the first of His creative works. So we went from one living, sentient entity to TWO living, sentient ent…

Please explain. Does this mean “The Word” has existed FOR ETERNITY “in God”, and is in fact a “part of God”? Because these are the things Wakeup claims.
I am not sure what Wakeup subscribes to here exactly, but the word is an attribute of God, just as wisdom is, and as light is. They are still attributes and always will be. They we…[Read more]

I could rename the forum to Ugly Net?

I think you need to reload the page so you can pick up the latest Style Sheet.
The forum uses normal text and bold stands out just like our ugly mug shots.😉

T8……..The difference is the word God does not describe a person, it describes a relationship to something. I have posted before what the original Hebrew word for God meant. It was a pictoral drawing of a ox head, with a staff leaning toward it, this ox head was their symbol for strength or power, the staff represent the support they trusted…[Read more]
