Nope. A being who was existing in the form of, and having glory beside God, before he was made into a human being.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ May 03 2012,18:26)Hi MB,Which heaven? One of them. Most likely the one where God abides, since it was God who took him up to heaven. Please don't ask this question again. It has been asked and answered to the best of my knowledge and ability many times already.

Gene and Pierre,Many in scripture “died” and were raised back to life before Jesus, right? So how can Jesus be “the firstborn from the dead”?I believe the only way is that Jesus was the first to actually descend to Sheol/Hades BEFORE being raised from the dead. In this way, Jesus was the first that God ripped from the hands of death.Perhaps G…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ May 02 2012,20:12)Hi MB, Which heaven?Well, “Sheol” isn't any of the three heavens, right? So apparently Sheol is NOT where Elijah went, right?

Quote (Nick Hassan @ May 02 2012,20:10)Hi MB, He also did the works of God. So why do you forget these things and elevate only the vessel as a god?God has done many fine works through Jesus, His Son who was existing alongside Him before He sent him into the world.

jammin,It seems that you want to include all kinds of things into the word “nature”.I have the nature of my father, but why would that mean I am as smart as him? Or as strong? Or as good at crossword puzzles? Or that I lived as long as he has? Etc.Jesus also has the spirit nature of his Father, but having that spirit nature doesn't mean Jes…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ May 02 2012,19:54)Hi MB, He claimed the words he spoke were from God. Why will you not believe him?Absolutely I believe him. After all, why would he be called the Word of God if he DIDN'T speak God's words to others?

Anointed or not, he could do nothing on his own – just like the rest of us.
mikeboll64 replied to the topic Even demons believe he is the son of God in the forum Scriptural Teachings 14 years, 6 months ago
Yes Nick. That is one of the instances in scripture where the word “word” refers to God's spoken words that we should all live by.Don't confuse God's spoken words with God's spokesman, the Word.

And so the words, “Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind” are most likely just a misprint in the Bible?

Jesus again exists in the form of his God, Nick. He asked for the glory he had before the world began, but God instead exalted him to an even higher position than the one he left to be made into the likeness of a human being.

Jesus is also called the Word of God, Nick.So sometimes, “word” refers to a spoken or written word from God or ANYONE else, and other times, it refers to a PERSON who was existing in the form of God, but then became flesh (he had to partake in flesh for the children were of flesh). And when this PERSON who was with his God in the beginning…[Read more]

mikeboll64 replied to the topic Do men ever go to heaven? in the forum Truth or Tradition 14 years, 6 months ago
I haven't yet seen any other “possibility”, Nick.Where do YOU suppose Elijah went when he was taken up to “heaven” in a whirlwind?(Btw, it is YOU who is making the ASSUMPTION that “taken up to heaven” would mean something other than taken up to God's abode. WHY do YOU assume such a thing?)
mikeboll64 replied to the topic Even demons believe he is the son of God in the forum Scriptural Teachings 14 years, 6 months ago
The Word/Jesus is a lesser god according to the scriptures, Nick. We are sure that he is called a god in scripture, right? Yet he is not the Most High God who brought him into existence, and who is his own God, right? So yes, he is a lesser god. But you already know this………..so why do you ask what you already know the answer to?
