I agree with you that Jesus existed prior to His existence in the flesh as the Son of God.

Hi Mike,I think that Calvin agrees with you too:Quote 62. What if you shall see the Son of man ascend to where he was before? The mean and despicable condition of Christ which they saw before their eyes, while, clothed with flesh, he was not at all different from other men, prevented them from submitting to his Divine power; but now — by w…[Read more]

I don't believe that Christ is a member of creation.
Lightenup replied to the topic Defining and setting the terms in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 16 years, 1 month ago
He didn't say that I and the Father “am” one. I believe in unity within the Godhead. The beginning that I believe in is the beginning of a separate person than the Father. Most early Christians believe that the separate person had a beginning in His separateness. His eternal substance could very well be within a seed in the Father which bor…[Read more]

Keith,You admit speculation on your part. I asked God and came up with the understanding that the Son is a true Son begotten before the ages. I can not deny that.
Lightenup replied to the topic Defining and setting the terms in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 16 years, 1 month ago
I believe all that but I also believe that scriptures support the Son being the firstborn over all creation and that firstborn created all things in heaven and on earth.

Well,I see it where He was begotten as the Son of God before the ages, begotten as the Son of God as a man in Mary, begotten from the dead at the resurrection.

Keith,You do know that you and roo differ on when this begotten takes place don't you?
Lightenup replied to the topic Defining and setting the terms in the forum Feedback, Suggestions, & Features 16 years, 1 month ago
Roo,I never said that the Father begets the way a human father begets. The womb that I suggest could be the bosom of God, I don't know, it is not like a flesh womb. God is not flesh and doesn't bring forth offspring like flesh. That doesn't mean that He can't bring forth offspring in His own way. I'm talking about a true offspring…one like…[Read more]
