Bo, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob knew Him as God Almighty. They did not know to call Him by the name Jehovah. They referred to Him as God Almighty or Lord and probably other names but I don't see where they called His name YHWH even though it was YHWH that had been appearing to them.I believe that both the Father and the Son are together the Almighty…[Read more]

Mike,I looked at Romans 5:12. I don't know enough Greek to understand why there is an indirect neuter pronoun used at all. In John 17:11, it is plain that 'which' is the pronoun for 'name.'The NT writers call him LORD, you just don't want to see it. Jesus is the name given the man that YHWH the Son became. YHWH is the name given the pre-existent…[Read more]

Ok Pierre, you are certainly making an assumption based on ignorance then. Maybe you should research the guy. He is mentioned a lot in the writings of the early church fathers.

Why are you so concerned with Paul of Samasota? Do you think that you were in agreement with him?
Lightenup replied to the topic The Eternal Sonship in the forum Exta-biblical Writings 13 years, 5 months ago
Yes, but they didn't make there decision because of a contemporary surviving document.
Lightenup replied to the topic The Eternal Sonship in the forum Exta-biblical Writings 13 years, 5 months ago
Pierre, the document mentioned is a contemporary document that has survived. That is not what the synod went by in condemning him. Read more carefully.

Pierre, What I understand is that God blinds the eyes so they cannot see and that proves you to be incorrect.

Keith,I think it is because of a lack of belief and spiritual blindness resulting in delusion and false teaching.

Pierre, the synod of Antioch condemned Paul of Samasota. I agree with what the synod agreed upon, not Paul of Samasota. Fyi, just in case you thought otherwise.

Only two groups…the disciples grew in numbers but weren't a separate group. The disciple group just got fuller.

Thanks for your answers, Pierre. They are not all 'of God' but it is ok to be wrong if you learn from your error. At least you tried.
