The ‘today’ that the Son was begotten was likely on day one of the creation week. Jesus is the spiritual Light of the world and this spiritual Light brought forth was the beginning of the creation of God. Jesus is the beginning of the creation of God (Rev. 3:14), not as the first created thing but as the firstborn of all creation(Col…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic LU and BD Biblical discussion cont'd in the forum Debates 11 years, 4 months ago

It seems that you keep thinking that Christians are saying that the Father is God the Father, and Jesus is God the Father BUT that is not what is being said. Christians understand that there is Jehovah God the Father who is the God of gods AND Jehovah God the Son who is Lord of lords. The Son is part of the Father, a part that has the same…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic LU and BD Biblical discussion cont'd in the forum Debates 11 years, 4 months ago

Yes, I am saying that those believers that have died according to their flesh, are alive in spirit with Christ in Paradise while their bodies are decaying or have decayed already. When the passage in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 says that the dead in Christ shall rise first, it is speaking about the bodies of believer’s which have decayed.…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic LU and BD Biblical discussion cont'd in the forum Debates 11 years, 4 months ago
Bo,
From what I understand, a believer’s resurrection is done in two parts. Immediately upon the last breath in the body, the spirit departs to go to the LORD. Later, the body is raised imperishable.
1 Cor 15
42So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. 43It is sown in dishonor; it is…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic LU and BD Biblical discussion cont'd in the forum Debates 11 years, 4 months ago

Seems like you have no contest of what was last posted by me. It would be wise to accept this, t8 instead of hoping it will go away and be forgotten about, don’t you think?!
I am memorizing the first several verses in 2 Peter 1. This is a good verse, want to hide it in your heart too?
2 Peter 1:1

Bo, the God of gods glorified the Lord of lords and the Lord of lords glorifies the God of gods. They serve each other.

Various crowns will be given after the bodily resurrection, Bo. Realize that judgements can be both good and bad.

I was pointing out that there were events that happened during eternity before creation.
For example:
God chosen…
God ordained…
The actions of choosing and ordaining took place before creation.
The action of begetting a Son took place before creation also, it had to in order for the Son to make creation.

you said:In the beginning was the Word…..Exactly this is how you know this verse is not talking something outside of it’s context which was THE BEGINNING of the Gospel, this is not the SAME beginning as in Genesis.

Yes, I am part of the “we” since I believe that Jehovah is the one God, the Father and the one Lord, Jesus Christ. Before Jesus became the Messiah, He was not a man but a creator of man with His Father. When He became a man according to his flesh, He was anointed as the Messiah.
May God bless you with a fuller revelation of Himself, Nick.
