T8…..Point is he didn’t just say yes,  but also added to his statement.  In another place , Pilot as him if he was the king of the Jews, his answer was not a yes/no answer was it?, but he respinded,  “you say I am”, but Jesus never said he was did he? Jesus answered thousand of question without a yes/no answer.  Why? because a yes or no answers can be predicated on something that adds insite to the question,  that the person who ask the question never thought of.

Most truth seekers want an answer with an explination, to clearify their answer.  Granted the explanations can get to long and venture into many other things not directly related to subject matter, but others take a lot of related scriptures to show a person  the reasons for thinking differently, as Jodi does, but that only shows her depth of understanding subject matter, and is good for study. IMO.

Peace and love to you and yours. ……gene

    Hi Gene,

When answering “Yes” or “No” questions you can add as many explanatory words as you wish.

Narrowing the scope of one’s beliefs through “Yes” No” questions is not wrong Gene

Edj……You can only narrow the scope if you consider all the explanations given, as JODI gave in ANSWER  to the question T8 raised about the angel saying to those people about JESUS’S birth, meaning he was already a savior and anointed at berth.

She showed clearly that the angel was referencing the he was relating to the prophesy of JESUS AS THE ONE WHO WOULD BECOME THE ANOINTED MESSIAH, AND SAVE HIS PEOPLE,  not that he was already that at berth.

Anyway,  some yes / no question can’t be answered CORRECTLY with a simple yes/ no answer. IMO.

    T8 said:

    Be like Jesus
So the high priest stood up before them and questioned Jesus, “Have You no answer? What are these men testifying against You?”

But Jesus remained silent and made no reply.

Again the high priest questioned Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”

“I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”…

Jesus had no problem answering yes or no questions. While he initially hesitated because he knew the truth would be highly offensive, he was not a liar or deceiver and thus he answered honestly regardless of the outcome.

That is NOt a simple ‘Yes’, ‘No’, ‘I don’t know’ answer, plus the circumstances are different. Jesus was facing death. We are talking about a discussion forum here. And you and Ed J are misusing His own words (in Matthew 5:37).

Plus, He answered “I am”, and proceeded to say he was the son of MAN, etc. So Ed J would say (if it was HERE) that was NOT a simple yes no answer, and then he would DEMAND an answer saying it was not answered!! Ed J would then say “If you don’t know the answer, simply say you don’t know!

Clearly Mathews 5:37 was in regards to oaths as Jesus said. There are no ifs or buts about it.

If you are asked a question give an honest reply. It’s as simple as that.

No one is saying you cannot answer a question with an explanation, But if it is a yes or no question then answer yes or no, then add your explanation as to why you think yes or no. Jesus was an honest man, but courts ask yes or no questions because many are dishonest. The law was made for sinners, not the righteous.

It appears that some here cannot be honest. so this became a way to get people to answer straight. And the fuss this has caused is silly. An honest person wouldn’t fuss about this because honest people can answer straight. Only those who do not want to be fully honest would be against this.

We should celebrate the truth and pursue it with all our hearts. But some want to play games. They teach things that contradict scripture and when you ask them a pertinent yes or no question. they cannot bring themselves to answer yes or no because it exposes them. Yes or no is too much light for them to handle. No, they want to craft long-winded post that give them wiggle room to escape and less opposition because no one is going to fully challenge a long post as it would take too much time. The consequence is time gets wasted and things are debated for years.

Jesus said render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s. This means when you post in Heaven Net, you need to render unto Heaven Net what is Heaven Net’s. And yes or no to fair questions is a rule here in the forums. Honestly, the only reason for the rule is to stop the dishonesty which we know comes from evil.

Exactly. But if they do not give an honest answer, then make it a simple yes or no question to get right down to the point. Yes or no is an honest answer. No wiggle room. You are putting your cards on the table at that point.

A person who loves truth is not scared to answer a fair yes and no question. If they refuse, then they have something to hide. It is as simple as that,

    Jesus said in Matthew 5:37,
All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

T8…..So then when you say give me a yes no answer to,does it say born today in the city of David is  christ  the lord.. so we’re to say yes, ,end of subject. EVEN THOUGH THE ANGEL WAS not actually meaning the Jesus was at that point already an “anointed”,nor was he a savior “yet”. Even though the angel was telling them their prophesied Mashiah and savior was born.  You present it as if he already at berth was Anointed and saved them , which is a lie, and you talk about dishonesty.   Jodi gave hundreds of support scriptures showing what the  angel was talking about, I also have given many scriptures which agree with what she said.

I ask you was Jesus  anointed twice, Edj said yes, so obevisly Edj know he was later anointed,  whats your answer?  I don’t recall your yes/no  answer, because it show your  lack of understanding or is it your dishonesty .

Peace and love to you and yours. ……..gene

    Hi Anthony,

Your question is too non-specific to answer ???

    when He came

    1. To John?
    2. To Jerusalem after 40 days in the dessert?
    3. To Earth as a baby when he was born?
    4. Resurrected back to Life?
    5. Back on Pentecost?

    When? Be specific

Anthony…..no,  Jesus was not the massiah at berth,  that was his prophesied  destiny.  He was not a savior at berth either, that was also his destiny.

Did Jesus come in the flesh?,  yes, he certanily did he came into his, only existence,  as a flesh being and still is a flesh being. Just as he said he was,  after his resurection. He is the same Jesus today as he was then, only now he has eternal life, and can never die anymore.

Anthony,  just believe what Jesus said,  that’s all you have to do,  don’t add or subtract to what he said.

Peace and love to you and yours. ……..gene

Miia…..You are right, not every question can be answered with a simple, yes , no, answer.

    LOL. No kidding.

    What is your name?

    Yes.

You guys are so scared of being honest that you are saying silly things in order to defend your actions.

Obviously a fair yes no question requires a yes no answer and other questions that require a general answer are obvious.

Being honest and transparent is the best way. Start today.
