Hi Andre,
So did the astrologers.
April 29, 2015 at 3:02 pm#796054AndrewADParticipantSo he was such a good man that God chose him,yet this was prophesied even in the stars! Cool, cool!!!
April 29, 2015 at 3:26 pm#796057NickHassanParticipantHi Andrew,
Even Herod figured out from the scribes that he was important.
April 29, 2015 at 3:41 pm#796061AndrewADParticipantHerod figured it a bit late or he would’ve sent men with the astrologers to worship this man child. But I guess Jesus hadn’t yet been adopted by God at that point.
April 29, 2015 at 4:15 pm#796066NickHassanParticipantHi Andrew.
Adopted?
God was his father according to the flesh.
April 29, 2015 at 5:03 pm#796072NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
In the book of Galatians the word CHRIST appears 37 times, often in association with Jesus, or the Lord Jesus
But the word JESUS
NEVER
appears by itself.
What does this mean to you?
April 29, 2015 at 8:23 pm#796079NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
In the book of Romans the word CHRIST appears 66 times
On 33 of those occasions it is ONLY the word Christ
On NO occasions is the word JESUS used alone
God seems to be telling us something.
April 29, 2015 at 8:30 pm#796080NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
I the books of Peter the word CHRIST appears 24 times
On about 12 of those occasions it is used alone.
The word Jesus never appears alone.
It appears that Jesus refers to the flesh man and it is the anointing that makes him special to God.
We should take more notice of the anointing too.
The new creation is of the Spirit.
Need I carry on?
April 30, 2015 at 9:59 am#796084MiiaParticipantThought provoking points you make, Nick.
As a sidenote:
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.”
Those who enter heaven seem to be:
1) Calling on the son (‘Lord, Lord’)
2) Doing the will of the Father.

Could well be a good reason for that Nick.
But doesn’t the following verse say Jesus without Christ appended?
Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist–denying the Father and the Son.
While it ties Jesus with Christ, it doesn’t say Jesus Christ, but takes the name Jesus on its own and says if you deny that Jesus is the Christ. At least in English anyway.
May 1, 2015 at 9:34 pm#796111NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Jesus is the Christ. But was he always?
Did not the WORD become flesh and dwell among us?
May 1, 2015 at 9:37 pm#796112NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Are you suggesting that Jesus was not conceived in Mary but somehow was in existence before that time?
Was Mary only a surrogate mother for a demigod?
May 1, 2015 at 9:39 pm#796113NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
You have never answered the question as to whether or not you have heard the Spirit speak through the mouth of Jesus.
Jesus Christ told us it happened.
May 2, 2015 at 2:33 pm#796157NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Even if we once knew Jesus Christ according to the flesh we no longer do so.
Now the Lord is the Spirit.2Cor3.17.2 cor 4.16
The Spirit is the Spirit of Christ
May 2, 2015 at 7:49 pm#796177NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Acts 2.36
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
MADE Lord and Christ
May 2, 2015 at 8:46 pm#796178NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Acts 17
2 And Paul, as his manner was , went in unto them and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, opening and alleging that Christ needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you is Christ.
The Jews were expecting the messiah.
Jesus was that anointed one.
May 2, 2015 at 8:50 pm#796179NickHassanParticipantHi t8,
Jesus is a figure of history known to the locals.
God used this knowledge and took them from the natural world into the spiritual.
May 3, 2015 at 9:45 pm#796264NickHassanParticipantHi,
Hebrews is different
11 times the name JESUS appears, sometimes as OUR LORD and only twice CHRIST.
May 4, 2015 at 12:19 am#796265princessParticipantSo did the astrologers.
“Osiris’s coming was announced by Three Wise Men: the three stars Mintaka, Anilam, and Alnitak in the belt of Orion, which point directly to Osiris’s star in the east, Sirius (Sothis), significator of his birth.Barbara Walker, The Woman’s Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets
Easy there Nick.
